holy cow. I already had the WS but opened up the game to find a whopping 5k star dust in my park. I know I'm LTTP but that is just awesome. BFS is the best.

Can't wait to turn that dust into treats today!

Really? I mostly like the idea of a new breeding cave (if we really get any) because I think they intend to release more dragons in the future, dragons that we actually have to breed for.

Well, nothing requires you to spend gems if there is a bottleneck at the nursery. You can just patiently leave the eggs to sit until things clear up.

I did that with the (sadly temporary) Berrywhite Breeding Cave and it was fine.

That said, I wouldn't mind if they did increase the number of nursery slots available from 4 to 6... or introduced a new nursery to go with the new cave...

We don't know if this third breeding location will be a movable like the cave is or it's stationary and on it's own separate island, like the EBI/EBS

It will be a cave (carve out of space chunks), and logic dictates that it's movable.

Event over, i watched it finishing and the event structure vanished into a light buble and disappeared in the new blue sky.
I received over 44 million treats which come in addition to the 7.7 i had already received when the bug occured.
No trace of a new breeding place though ...

I received 41 million treats. Really generous of BFS. But no breeding cave or other event bonus this time.

The ending message was very different from the one yesterday. No mention of comet chunks or a new breeding cave.

I guess they decided against it at the last minute.

Went ahead and dumped all my food into my Epic dragons to bring 'em up to 15... I managed to raise an entire island of epics up to 15! Still so many more left to go. Baby Sun dragon is huge at lvl 15!

Yes. Very different message. I am really disappointed now. I thought the idea was great, having something made of chunks of the star.

Maybe BFS still has something planned. I doubt they'd give us a hint of a new breeding cave and then not deliver. For everything that they add to the game it takes a lot of preparation... hopefully they only need a little extra time. I'm still banking on another cave! It'd probably look pretty and shiny made out of starry material.

I love my shiny new weather station and I enjoyed the premise of this event (I'm a backyard astronomer and a big fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson), but I really think BFS needs to step back from these events for a while. Not only are many of us event-weary, but in my opinion BFS should take some time to review their code and their procedures. The failures we've seen in the last few events have all been in the mechanics of the event flow itself and seemingly not related to new features released concurrently (such as the weather station or the new breeding rules). This should be settled code by now and there's really no excuse for events ending late or early or badly or anything else at this point.

I love Dragonvale, but I dislike the frequent bouts of frustration and uncertainty that these events invariably bring.

Aww mann. My event ended early yesterday and all my dust was taken. I didn't receive compensation but somehow my island was put back but my park still in regular day time background. I could still collect some star dust but it was not counting. Now I guess the event officially ended however since I did receive the glitched early ended yesterday and did not receive the fix I did not get anything today about it, not even a notice. No breeding cave or star dust like promised, and no additional treats for star dust that was collected after or purchased. I'm pretty upset.

Yes, I'm surprised that everything went wrong. First the bug, which was actually great for me in the end, but no so great for some people. I loved the message about the cave made out of chunks of the star and was very anxious for the event to end and see what it was about. When the event really ended we simply got a boring message about the star just passing close. Yes, I got lots of treats and am really happy about it. But the bit about getting no new feature after all... Not so happy about this part.
But we may still get it, as lemmyloop said. Hope springs eternal.

Send an email to their support team, if you haven't already. I'm sure they will solve it somehow.
