Just about to ask! Love it! It feels so... Organic... I am very much a fan of paper over screen, but there are some cool benefits with excel spreadsheets.
Always nice to see alternatives!

I am 71 stars away from the pedestal, hopefully will get enough gifts tonight to make it. I only have 2 or 3 obstacles that were left from the previous event's clear cutting, so am saving those for a double weekend; also have spent less than 40 gems. I hope to get the Lost Island during the next BEB, so am trying to be frugal with them now.
To my gem buddies: thank you so much for all your gifts! As my sig says, I am trying to return them as quickly as I can. If you are not already on my active list, I appreciate your gifts, but perhaps you should send them to someone who can return them more quickly. My current buddies have to take precedence; I know you all understand.
In other news: my Monolith dragons have been so good to me--Monos 1 & 3 just produced a 3rd Mono 4 to use as a pedestal. Now need 2 more Mono 3s & I'll be finished with Monoliths. There is an egg in the nest that I am hoping is a #3! Right now, there is 48 hr on the island. If it had to be a long incubation, would have been nice to be a 60--I need another double rainbow. Thought I already had 2, but evidently not. Anyway, I was going to say that I think the Monoliths have been among the easiest to get ( for me), but I've decided not to say that; I don't want to jinx myself! So, Wizards, don't pay attention to that, please! Koala everyone! Wouldn't it be lovely to have a clear slate before the next dragon (tomorrow?)?
Fletch_smf I'm really liking your added rows. Might have to play around and add them onto my sheet. I've noticed you've got a nested if statement in your Game Display row, maybe think about doing a Vlookup there. Vlookups are my saving grace... Personally love the "You earned all the prizes, DAWG!"
As for the conditional formatting... I'm assuming you're going to want to use a cell reference instead of hard coding it. It's definitely possible in Excel, but unfortunately this is where Google Drive is going to fail us. I don't think Google Sheets has that capability.
Once upon a time I was in a class that taught, among other things, Excel basics. One of our big projects was to make a grade calculator. It wasn't a calculator by the conventional use of the word, but it did do a calculation. Ever since then I've been building Excel "calcualtors."
Now fully dynamic! Though still with some bugs... All you need to do is select the prize you desire. The sheet links to the daily input page and calculates your average daily collection, and based upon that comes up with a rough estimate of how many gems you need to spend in order to get your desired prize. I anticipate incorporating this onto the summary sheet and doing a bit of an overhaul on the look of the summary. That way I can keep the number of sheets to a minimum...
I finally got some time and was able to mess around with your spread sheet and ended up adding more sheets XD
I added a projection sheet like I did with the last event, where I basically filled out all the values and then figured out how many gems I would need/want to spend on which days--using the gem suggestions off the summary page. Visually it helped to have it completely laid out.
I'm currently tinkering to see if I can create an "input/calculation" page for the some of the formulas in summary page to streamline the summary page so it would just show the stuff in E3:K3 categories, current star dust count, and maybe gems needed to spend if I can figure that out...
Can I ask those who have gotten all available dragons (and pedestals, if that's your goal) at the moment, what do you guys spend gems on? As in, how do you justify to yourself to use gems when it's really to get star dust? Like I dun see a purpose in spending gems to hasten a breeding or incubating when I am in no rush to get more wisp dragon for more dragoncash. Am I making sense here?
All of this is based on whether or not you want to complete the game:
Lost Island: 1,500 gems after the event. Twilight Tower: 1,775 gems after the event. 888 gems on sale. Based on that pattern the Weather Station is going to cost about 1,000 gems as well as the other final prizes like Goody's Treatery, the gem bush, the epic of relics and so forth.
If you're taking the events easy and then just buy the items during BEB, the gem cost is higher, and you don't get 'speed ups' for your gems then either. Basically, laid back event --> higher cost OR your sanity --> lower cost
For this event for my gameplay specifically: Weather Station cost during BEB = ~1,000 gems Total amount of gems traded in for star dust needed to get final prize as calculated on lemmyloop's amazing spreadsheet = ~275 gems If I use the giant habitat gem to star dust strategy = ~190 gems
So while I might not be getting the double benefit of gems during an event, I am saving a lot in the long run. And at the rate at which the events are occurring, hoarding gems is getting more difficult.
Again, this is "justified" if you want the final prize(s).

I'd love to see the finished results! I've definitely overhauled the current spreadsheet, so needless to say the next event's spreadsheet will look a tiny bit different.

I feel so outdated. I just use a sheet of paper and take notes. This way I am able to collect at any time, anywhere, and keep track of my progress. But your spreadsheets are really great and useful. And it's easier to know exactly where you are towards the rewards you want to get. Maybe next time I will start using one.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

Still tinkering, but after initial tinkering I'm going back and forth on whether to consolidate all the information onto one page. Probably won't have anything really done till the end of the event ironically. Doing this makes me realize even more that the way you've set things up in the current version is really, really efficient

I actually don't track on my spreadsheet when I play!
I've gotten into a robotic rhythm of things after so many events (unfortunately lol) that I play dragonvale whenever and then when I finally am able to sit down I open up my spread sheet and input data at the end of the night without even opening up the game.
I do each action one at a time like many others: gifts, dc, eggs, star dust, visits, treats etc. I make sure to max out on each before I move on to the next. If I'm not able to max out I use the path tracking method so I know the next time. (Ie 1 gold path for missing 2 star dust during dc collection).
So when I do open up excel I basically copy one column onto the next. There's a few numbers that can vary like the colosseum, gifts, quests--but those are easy to remember off the top of my head.
What's really helpful about the excel sheet is that it helps me figure out how many gems I need to spend and how many I should budget out over the course of the event.
I tracked for the first half of the Rose Event then just stopped completely.
anyahastur: like homais, I don't record when I collect. Otherwise I'd have to get out of bed in the morning... hehe. Generally I collect in batches. Eggs, cash, quests... last is food since that's the one I usually need to keep track of!
homais: What I've found in spread sheet's is that the least number of pages the better. Don't want too much overload, especially since these are for more than just my use! Otherwise I'd have a ton of pages and things would be a lot messier.
Back to event news, I'm sitting at 187 Star Dust until the pedestal. Should reach it tomorrow and then onto the Star Path!
I've stopped recording several events ago. The only time I record is when growing treats since I like to do it all in one sitting. I do that by turning in whatever currency I have so my counter is at 0, and then growing Sarjin Peppers until I get 40. Same thing with gem spending. I used to keep track of my habitat earnings, but I eventually realized it was useless to me since even if I was short nearing the end of the day, there isn't anything I could do about it.

Yes, but for you it must seem so much more personal as it is in your handwriting, although there is more of a liability towards mistakes.
To to be honest I don't even track mine... I'm only a couple of hundred behind (excluding forgetting to go into DV last night... Silly me)

This is the first reminder to everyone that it may be a double weekend coming up. If you remember to hold off sending gifts until the double starts it will go a long way to helping out your fellow players. :-)

Currently 687 from collecting the Path. This means that I've been averaging the required 280 per day so far! Fingers crossed that I can keep it up! Also, I usually leave gifts until last, coins until 2nd last, and treats until 3rd last. By collecting everything else first, it keeps my currency at a more rounded figure (at either 5 or 10), so when I collect from treats in one sitting, I usually have most of the 24 hours to collect from coins. Gifts come last. Thanks to this community I have been able to forgo keeping specific count of currency for simply working toward the pre-determined daily goal. I cash-in daily to aid this, which has made the last 2 events much less 'stressful'.
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

So we have just switched over to the next day a mere hour ago. Should we expect doubles to start within 12 hours approx, or 36? It's currently 5pm Thursday in Australia, meaning that it would still be Wednesday in the US, if I'm correct in that.

We Aussies just need to remember not to play Friday afternoon and night (:
