So we have just switched over to the next day a mere hour ago. Should we expect doubles to start within 12 hours approx, or 36? It's currently 5pm Thursday in Australia, meaning that it would still be Wednesday in the US, if I'm correct in that.

I feel so outdated. I just use a sheet of paper and take notes. This way I am able to collect at any time, anywhere, and keep track of my progress. But your spreadsheets are really great and useful. And it's easier to know exactly where you are towards the rewards you want to get. Maybe next time I will start using one.
Yes, but for you it must seem so much more personal as it is in your handwriting, although there is more of a liability towards mistakes.
To to be honest I don't even track mine... I'm only a couple of hundred behind (excluding forgetting to go into DV last night... Silly me)
You are right. I think it really feels more personal this way. And in fact I already have a system established after so many events, so I don't make that many mistakes. I got the pedestal today. I'm a little behind, but I haven't been spending many gems, since I'm saving them to by more habitat slots. With the new dragon this might change. I will be more tempted to speed up breedings.

With Lemmys spreadsheet I have been able to keep careful track of what I have earned, and how. Treats and DC collection are the the ins that allow you to earn 2 stardust at a time. I mean other things do as well, but it's easy to max them out for the day giving you a nice round number. And gifts come in multiples of 5. So if I have a total ending in 7 on one day, and I collect total treats and DC then the next day my total must end in 7 or 2. 2 days ago I was sure I collected all DC and Treats but my total showed me 2 stardust short. Yesterday the same thing, but I was 6 stardust short. No big deal probably in the scheme of things but annoying.
However when the magic reset today, and I checked the totals and I had earned 6 more stardust then was possible in one day. I'm guessing the total caught up with itself and I am exactly where it should be. Like I said ... Funny.
Sometimes I collect more than 40 star dust from DC a day, if I have lots of habitats to collect from at once and do it fast enough and get lucky. One day I collected 56 and in other occasion 46. But mostly I only get 40, and not all at once. I have to collect several times a day. Sometimes the last 2 comes late at night or not at all.

I'm saying it might not be a WEEKEND. I'm hoping it is, plus the Lyrid days... and another weekend just before the event closes
But in case it's not and they only give us the usual number of double days, it's going to be close for me. Oh, well.
I've stopped recording several events ago. The only time I record is when growing treats since I like to do it all in one sitting. I do that by turning in whatever currency I have so my counter is at 0, and then growing Sarjin Peppers until I get 40. Same thing with gem spending. I used to keep track of my habitat earnings, but I eventually realized it was useless to me since even if I was short nearing the end of the day, there isn't anything I could do about it.

To everyone who does not live in the BFS timezone:
Take a look at the top of the forum, on the right side just above the threads or the news fader. There's a clock set to BFS time! Star Dust resets at midnight BFS/Mountain Time Zone. If you want to make sure you don't miss out on Star Dust, be sure not to collect if the date says Fri April 17, 2015.
I'm 537 away from the Starry Path. That leaves me with 6837 SD to collect all rewards. There are 18 event days left (not counting today... cuz I've finished all my collecting). On average, I would need about 380 SD per day to get all rewards.
Not counting gifts from friends, I am capable of collecting 245 SD per day, which is 135 SD short of my daily average. I get about 40 SD per day from friends...
If there is one double weekend (which amounts to 4 additional event days), I need an average daily collection of 310 SD.
If there are two double weekends (which amounts to 8 additional event days), I need an average daily collection of 265 SD.
So, for my part, I need to use 40 gems a day and hope for two double weekends to have a realistic shot at all the even rewards.

It always seems to happen when I'm collecting quickly on really terrible mobile Internet, so I'm guessing it's some sort of synchronization issue with the server that I'm unwittingly exploiting.

Dang it you're right. Hopefully they double them this time because they have halved the regular amount.

On WiFi I usually just get the normal 40.
The maximum I got is 44 so far. It happened only twice at Park 1 throughout all the events. 42 happens occasionally at Park 1 and 2.

I will postpone sending my gifts to after the doubles start (or until we know there won't be any doubles at all tomorrow). If I usually send gifts to you, rest assured that I didn't forget and you'll get your gift, hopefully with double star dust. Perhaps some friends will send gifts to other people instead, returning gifts received. But I'll risk it, because I really want to help them as much as possible. I really hope we get doubles. And that this time the gifts are also doubled. Koala to us all.
