As the ball of fire hurtles toward event island, at point of impact; a galaxy is born in chaos violence and uncertain future. Bounds within its creation are billions and billions stars, matter, gas..etc.
The astronmancer noel dePlante pierces into space each night and discovers set of distinguish stars patterns. He begins to catalog his finding. The first sign is called Aries.
That is how BFS introduces the Zodiac dragons.
Lie w/in this the galaxy are traversable wormholes which allow travel in both directions from one destination to the next quickly in the same galaxy.
Each of us would go on quests to find this wormhole.
Once the wormhole is found, we can start sending messages or gifts to those on our friend lists.
Gifting will prob. have some constraints attach to it: frequency, type of gift(s), park level, etc..
BFS has tried to broaden their client base by introducing the Friend Code around Dec 2013. However, they failed due to some technicalities (I recalled that it had to do w/ Apple's). Different attempts w/ the Dragonsai Bush and the Treatery I think they have accomplished that. I now have 4 new buddies to swap gems/treat w/. Still, BFS wants to expand the game to attract more players, and at the same time, keep the long-term players/fans happy.
Just something silly I thought of this morning, sorta try to tie the event to what could have happened to DV when the event ends few weeks from now.
Some friends touch your heart in a way that you can never erase.
Im like 1600 away from the dragon. How are you all getting stardust so fast??
I think the board founders/administrators are thanked by many for their efforts with daily gifts . (As well they should be.)

I opened my purse over the weekend.
I have always spent $ for these events, there was only one event that I didn't. My reason, in the past, was to support BFS. Also, I had played wholeheartedly and quite mindful about my game plan as a result I had currency left over for treats, and was able to help those it needs in the last few days of the event.
The exception is w/ this event, I was far behind and needed a boost.

Just got the Midnight dragon - looks just like the one on the opening page. On to #2. Hope I get it before the meteor hits and blows everything up.
Cheers, Poppy
Quite a nervous dragon, Restless jumping around. And of course you meant that you hope the meteor hits our parks after we all get this Midnight dragon lol I ll get it tomorrow, 150 away from releasing it.

That would be nice, but many (most?) of us play the game just like any normal user.
Sadly, several of my previously reliable gem buddies have left the game for one reason or another.
Ill timed gem buddies... ill timed indeed...
It's a pity. You sure deserve to get many gifts for all your effort and help on this forum. I think the reason that you don't get more gifts is that you play on android. Not many people are willing to send FB friend requests.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.

1500 away. Seem to be way further behind than I had anticipated. Missed out on 500, that I know of. But the other 1000? I was only 300 behind last time I checked. Something Strange...

Personally, I kinda of like it that we staff are treated just like everyone else. And when we send out PMs seeking for new staff, we make it clear that there is no benefit to joining the team. In fact, it's more work and you have fewer privileges While some (speaking philosophically) might be more inclined to volunteer for something if there were perks, doing so is contrary to the concept of volunteering.
So while it warms me to read that "we deserve" this and that for what we do, being warmed is gift enough.
We aren't royalty. We have a plain-jane DV account, just like y'all.
We put on our pants just like everyone else, one leg at a time...
Except, after we put our pants on, we occasionally have to tell people to Aloha.
And so, the doubles are over. I noticed something.
I got two of my stars earlier today which got me 40 stardust, unsurprisingly. The last one I was only able to find after the doubles had ended. I expected to get 10 stardusts, but I got none. Maybe says something about how the dusts are counted on BFS's servers or something.

When points (dust, eggs, etc.) are doubled, so are the limits on collecting them. When they roll back to being at the previous amounts, so do the limits.
The original limit on collecting the three stars equals 30 points. Doubled, it's 60.
But you already had 40 points from the two stars you found while it was still doubled on today's collecting cycle. When we went back down to single level, you were already ten points above the updated 30 dust limit, so no further points were awarded for finding that last star.
Hopefully that makes sense. The coffee dragon hasn't visited me yet this morning...

GCID: joliesdragons (please, no new gem/treat gifts, and repeated GC challenges will lead to unfriending)

Yes, that makes sense. I know that the limits go back down after the doubles, but I thought that BFS would store collected star dust as a percentage or fraction of the limit instead of just a plain number. That would mean that when I had collected two stars, I had collected two thirds of my limit, no matter when I tapped them. The amount really recieved would of course be in plain numbers though.
Also, I didn't even think there was a limit on the stars, since it kind of sets its own limit by only appearing in limited quantity.
But thanks for a thourough and clear explanation of how it really works!
I have a (wish-)theory about the Lyrid meteor shower in which the background goes all Van Gogh... I wouldn't know about the conclusion, though. It's likely I'll end up slightly buying... (what, miss out on an omnipotent Weather Station?)
Would love a Starry Night.
And my favourite theory is Gregs ... Meteor hits and Dinosaurs Dragons go extinct.
Some of you may remember that I was locked out of my game and was 2 days behind. I have a spreadsheet I keep for every event and after doing the math I knew I could not get all the rewards without spending some money. No big deal to me as I feel BFS deserve to be paid for their talent. I like the game and want to see it continue. So when double weekend started, I bought 10$ worth of SD. This pushed me further ahead than I thought. Probably only needed 7$ to be on track. Finishing early is good too. I am about 600 away from dragon 2.

Grats on your progress! I'm glad to hear you are on track.

Fortunately, that IS very rare, the aloha telling.
We can definitely tell that the staff here truly are volunteers. They work all day for us and we don't reward them

Happy to hear the event is going well for you!
Personally, I am a bit more than 600 away from the very first dragon. Still optimistic though!

Gifts help a *great deal* during these special events. I think the main reason I receive quite a few is sheer longevity. I started when the game was launched (thanks to my grandson Jack), I was a big mouth on the other forum (heavily medicated following major surgery) and I've been on this forum since day one. It's resulted in 400+ friends the last time I looked, so there's bound to be activity - for which I'm very thankful.

It still snowy out East?
But seriously, this is a fantastic forum and the staff's hard work plays a large role in the welcoming spirit. Thank you.
This is the best forum team on the internet. You would be amazed at how much work they do behind the curtain.
