I'm now at 1,881/2,250 to the first Midnight dragon. I have 5 very good friends who gift me almost daily--thank you friends! With their help I hope to collect enough SD for it. Real life has been getting in the way so progress has been slow so I reduced my goal to getting one dragon since it seems only one Midnight is needed to breed more. I never find more than 3 fallen stars or 2 visit-friend bonuses a day even when I play my game more than once a day. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. With these limitations, I hope one dragon is still within reach. Any advise or input is appreciated.
As far as I know, no one is finding more than 3 fallen stars or getting more than 2 visit-friend bonuses a day.
Because there were more eggs hidden the last weekend of the Easter hunt, there is theory that there MIGHT be more stardust this weekend (the last weekend of the falling stars event)
However, some people have more than 5 gift-giving friends and thus are getting more friend bonuses.

There are only 3 stars to find each day, and you can only get star dust from visiting 2 friends. Other than that, you can get up to 20 star dust from completing quests from the perch of Kairos. 2 hour quests give you 2 star dust, all others give you 20. You can get up to 40 from selling eggs, and if you don't have the eggs to sell, you can buy and sell plant eggs provided you have a spot in your nursery. You get 2 stardust/plant egg sold. You can get up to 40 star dust/day by spending gems. If you don't have many gems, you can buy a giant habitat for 25 gems and sell it back for 10 gems. You get 25 stardust for spending 15 gems. If you have obstacles, you get 2 star dust/obstacle up to 10/day. Other than that it is the coliseum, DC, treats, and receiving gifts. Hopefully we will have doubles again this week-end, where you can collect twice as much. Wishing you success in getting the dragon.
I am about 1150 from the final prize. I did buy star dust during doubles because of my low activity early in the event, so I'm hesitant to post this 'cause I seriously don't want anyone who is working hard to be discouraged! However, I got on this morning to find a ton of gifts.

With a double weekend, there's about 7 days left. 40 + 40 + 40 + 40 + 25 + 10 + 30 + 80 = 305 * 7 = 2135 + 200 = 2335
From my very rough estimates, it looks like I might not make it. Assuming they don't do something like increase the amount of stardust in our parks. I guess I'll find out for sure this weekend.
To vonfirmath and rulilind, Thank you both for your replies! I am so glad to read that as far as the stars and the stardust from visiting friends are concerned, I have been collecting the max. I just learned about the hatching plant dragon trick a few pages back so that has helped a lot. I think I will make it to at least one dragon. Thanks again!

There's 7 actual days left, so including the doubles it's closer to 11. Well 10.5 If you need 2335 then it's only 233 a day, 466 on doubles. Easily done.
I've figured it out, Buffy! My Excel was missing the dragon eggs! Now it's early morning, I still have 1 garden star to go, treats and the Colosseum, and I've exceeded 1000. I should be getting the second dragon with some extra SD by Thursday.
If doubles start on Friday to American Monday, that means Friday evening to Tuesday morning in Europe. (That's the part that always confuses). It may be possible, may require one or two major gem purchases, or a minimum expense. I'll wait and see.
Edit: On the basis of the new calculation, it is possible to get the Weather Station on a double weekend that would extend from Friday afternoon to Tuesday morning, even without extra SD. This makes the Friday hold-off critical, friends. You're UNCONDITIONALLY getting your gifts late.

I'm hoping too. The event island is completely different from the others. And with the star coming closer and the new features that BFS mentioned... But the gemstone island is only used for gemstone dragons. We can't put anything else there. I don't know if it would be possible to use it to put the Weather Station.

They have never let us keep a full sized event island.
It's possible they could give us a smaller version of it, like they did with the Lost Island...
