An event about space and comets, ending on Star Wars day … if BFS don't make this the introduction to Constellation Dragons they have missed a great opportunity.

A family member recently got themselves an Asus Zenfone 5. When Google and Facebook accounts were already setup, I asked them to download and installl Dragonvale (in hopes of getting more gems for the last few days of the Star Fall Event). But the app won't run! It keeps saying "Dragonvale has stopped working" or something like that. Any ideas on this?

Sadly, real life got in the way, and I won't even get a dragon from this event. I'm half-way to that first dragon too. Sorry Dragonvale, with getting all the other upfront "prizes" before an actual dragon, the game finally beat me. Thank you for this wonderful community, and I wish everyone the best of luck.

I agree with this since players have been requesting Constellation Dragons for years.
Has anyone figured out if the Weather Station is just for aesthetics or does it in some way affect breeding? In the way that the Twilight Tower allows you to breed Moon even in the daytime, do you think that the Weather Station will increase odds of breeding a certain dragon depending on the weather?
I can't imagine that after all this, the comet would pass us by with no affect at all. Not even a hibernating alien spaceship caught in the comet's tail?
However, in the Last Call pop up for the event the Wizard Noel seemed perplexed and alarmed that the Star was getting so close.
Either way, it was still cool. I should make it to the Weather Station despite losing yet another gem friend. That's three in 6 weeks. Hopefully she is just on Holiday.
I've thought about that, but honestly - we're looking at the side of the comet. It's much more boring head-on coming at you being just a circle. Now, certain laws of physics have been, uh, relatively lightly adhered to in this game but I think a radical 90-degree turn of a comet that puts it on a collision course is somewhat too far. Magic? Sure. Star dust? Fine. Hidden eggs, Sanda, magic fireflies, dragons - all great. 90-degree right turning comets I simply MUST draw the line =P
iOS GCID EuroKnuter Friends ALWAYS welcome, but I'm full for GT buddies =) Rockin' an ElektronX Jet Icon!

Nope, comet tails don't necessarily point in the direction of travel. They point away from the sun, so it is possible for the comet to be coming straight toward us, with the tail visible.
I could probably find this mentioned somewhere if I dug around a bit, but I'm lazy, so I won't. Instead I'll ask. Will the event end at the same time the doubles end tomorrow, or will we get an additional 14.5 hours of normal event time after the doubles end?
I'm asking because if we get the extra time, I'll be able to get the Weather Station (assuming 8 total gifts, all doubled). If not I'll miss out on my Colosseum Dust and have to buy a dollar's worth of Star Dust (I'd rather not). Anyways, I would like to say congratulations to everybody getting the Weather Station! Hopefully I'll join you tomorrow.
Also, if BFS doesn't do something interesting with the approaching 90-degree-turning/non-90-degree-turning comet/collection of colourful pixels, and just makes it pass by, I'm going to be seriously sad. Regardless of whether it breaks any laws of physics or not.
Is there any chance of a poll we could vote in to get a view on the length of gaps between competitions. I sense the majority would like a break from competitions and maybe BFS might take notice?
Got my WS this morning and was really fun watching rain. Would like to see snow added, maybe even locusts or dragon food falling from the sky.
This is DragonVale where magic reigns supreme, commanding a comet to make a 90 degree turn would be child's play. Fully expect there to be some sort of collision involving our vale, it's just a matter of what will be left, or what will be changed post collision. Have read some really interesting ideas and can't wait to see which one comes true.
Will draw my line in the sand with the game if all the dragons start wielding light sabers.

My sense is that we should probably get used to more or less continuous out of the ordinary events now that we're in DV 2.0. I had a negative reaction at first - now I really enjoy them.

It's not that I don't like them. If I had endless time it would be fine. The competitions have evolved in such a way that if you can't visit park regularly (the kairos quest is the best example of a need to visit frequently) then you miss out.

I'd like a break from events but I don't see that happening. I will never leave my gem friends hanging - always checking in at least daily to send gifts - but I've got to get back to a scaled back Dragonvale life. I'll be just short of the second dragon this time; I'm slowly but surely lowering my personal expectations for the events. If I could complete the event in one concise visit a day it would be better.

We get some normal event time after. There's an event countdown timer in your social menu. The doubles countdown timer is in the market.

THIS! I liked being able to play at my own pace. If BFS could add in a few buffer days or a rollover limit that would be really nice of them.

Oh, right. That one. I am slightly ashamed to say I closed the timer as soon as it appeared. Whoops. Thanks for your answer though!
I would very much prefer some time of DV play without any event. I know it is my own decision to go for the last prize - but hey, this game for me is all about completion. So I feel a bit forced to do my best to get them all. I don't like that tedious harvesting of food. I don't like to take a lot of care for the time the colosseum finishes. I normally don't visit friends parks daily because I don't like to wait minutes for them to load. I don't like that the game is much slower and crashes much more often. And the worst : I miss breeding for a new dragon ! The tedoius collecting of magic eggs or fireflies or SD is so much worse than the thrill of putting a pair in the cave and checking the breeding time.
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
What's your progress? How many SD towards the Weather Station do you have? I really hope you make it.
I was off for the weekend (although certainly I was playing, just not enough devices to be comfortably on the forum as well). In sum, I miscalculated (included May the 4th) and I'm not going to make it free -- but on the other hand, the purchase will be small, definitely not what I thought I'd need. And here's where I really have to thank all you guys for the amazing support I've received. I'm particularly touched by the whole tribe of LINDs, for indeed the family that plays together... (well, you know how that ends)
Five bucks and extra food. That's what I calculate, and I'd been ready to shell out twice, although I was anticipating I'd even have to raise that.
Now, a break from events, PLEASE!
