To all my DV friends: On March 10 I underwent a very serious (cancer preventative) surgery. I’ve been recovering ever since… recovery from this surgery is long and arduous (I was in the hospital 24 days), especially at my age, I didn’t know it was gonna be this long or rough… haven’t felt like doing anything until today, my first day back on DV. Thanks to all who gifted me in my absence, very much appreciated.
I’ll try to play for as long as I can, at least one complete collection… got a a lot o catching up to do.
Love you all,
Grandpa Kenny
Take care and concentrate on getting better. Were you on the east or west side of the mountains for your surgery?
Let me know if I can do anything to help, especially if you are on my side of the mountains.

I’m so sorry to hear about all you have gone through, grandpakenny . I noticed you were away on the Forum and in the game, but I didn’t realise it was so serious. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sending you all the love and strength!

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!

I have been wondering what happened to my daily gifting friend, and was going to message you, but did not want to intrude if you had quit the game or moved on from it. I am glad you are doing better, and I hope you continue to recover from your surgery. Take care of yourself first off. Then… if you need to catch up on dragons you missed send me private messages and I can put the dragons up for you in between the limiteds. I am all caught up waiting on the new one tomorrow.
Grimm is a thrilling show to discover if you’re a fan of the Brothers Grimm. Each episode revolves around creatures that are either inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales, or fables, folklore, legends, and mythology. It’s currently in syndication, and the episode about a manticore recently ran, which coupled nicely with DragonVale’s release of Mantasu. It’s a fun, fantastical series, not something to take too seriously, just all-around entertaining.
I love that show! I will have to rewatch it when I have the free time. 😄
I’m so pleased to hear you’re a fellow Grimm-ster! The show can be a little ridiculous at times, but I love that it’s loosely based on the Grimm’s Fairy Tales with lots of folklore and mythology.
Grimm is on Peacock and Amazon Prime, but I found this terrific broadcast network called Comet TV. It airs science fiction programmes and movies, like The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Outer Limits, etc, and it just picked up Grimm last week. They usually run a block of 2-5 episodes in a row for all their programmes. I haven’t seen Grimm since it was cancelled six years ago, so I’m having a nifty time revisiting it.
The other day, the Anubis episode aired, in honour of hawk’s Nubis 😊. And last week, the Manticore episode ran for Mantasu. It’s very amusing how the show is following the event.

I love fantasy/fairy tales/science fiction too. I have forgotten about “the outer limits”! That reminds me of “The Twilight Zone”. I also like the show “Once upon a time”. I will have to try Comet TV, but I understand it is live stream? So may have to block out the time to watch.😅
I don’t have Prime, and Peacock used to be free, but now if you want to watch certain shows, you have to subscribe. We finally did away with cable a couple of years ago and I mostly have “free” streaming services which provide enough shows to keep me occupied. I also like British type mysteries. Still debating if I should subscribe to Brit Box or Acorn..😄

Huh, somehow have never made it to this chat thread. Hi everybody! I’m always up for trying a new show, so I’ll give Grimm a go, assuming Prime Canada has it.

I believe Grimm is available on Prime Canada.
I hope you like it. The one thing that bothers me about Grimm is the creatures, called 'Wesen' (German for 'being'), only have dramatic head/face changes, so most are bipedal. It would’ve been nice to see a full transformation occasionally, especially since most Wesen are based on animals.

I tried watching Once Upon a Time when it began, but I couldn’t get into it. I did follow Sleepy Hollow for a while, but the show kinda got away from itself after several seasons. The Twilight Zone is a classic favourite. It would be a perfect fit on Comet. I’ve watched a couple Outer Limits episodes recently; it is impressively well made. The show has aged well, which can be difficult for sci-fi with the advancement of special effects, CGI, etc.
Comet is a broadcast network. If you have an antenna, you can probably receive it. You may need to rescan your television if it doesn’t show. If you don’t have an antenna, indoor antennas are inexpensive ($20-$50), small, and easy to install. Depending on where you live and your proximity to a broadcast tower will determine the signal strength and how many channels you can receive.
Congratulations on cutting the cable cord! Well done!

Meh, no different than every other low budget sci fi show. So long as the writing is good. I’d rather enjoy good story telling than amazing effects.
Aaaccckkkk. Two kids graduating at the same time is nuts. One from High School and one with Bachelors from CSM.
I feel like neither one is getting fair recognition.
A break would’ve been welcome.
Hey lisgie, CSM wouldn’t be Colorado School of Mines would it? Any degree from anywhere is great but one from ‘Mines’… fantastic!
Yes it is Mines. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Engineering Physics (ok, I’m totally gonna brag cause she won’t see this). She got a 4.0, got top honors for her degree, and was pictured with the school president in the commencement ceremony. She is wicked smart.
She’s going back in the fall for a Mechanical Engineering masters with a thermal fluids emphasis.
The other one starts at CU Boulder for applied mathematics and data statistics in a couple of weeks.

Wow! Two really smart kids. The one from CSM could start out right now at > $75K a year… she’ll never be unemployed after she gets that Masters. And a math degree for the other one is rare and will keep that one employed too. As the mother of those two, with what they’ve achieved so far in their lives, you deserve a lot of credit. Congratulations!
Now my turn to brag… I have two nephews who graduated from South Dakota School Of Mines. One, is now a big shot with John Deere and the other is a Navy Lieutenant working on nuclear projects. And this year my grand daughter graduated from Northeastern U (in Boston) and got her Bachelor’s & RN. She wasn’t quite 4.0 but she was Dean’s List all 4 years. She got special recognition at graduation for keeping her studies up after her mother (my daughter) passed away 2 years ago 😥. She got a job immediately and has no student loans because she had a ‘full ride’.

If you have your friend icon in the top left hand corner of the screen, tap the friend icon (and then again when the first menu shows up), then choose whatever list you want to choose from (adult dragon/baby dragon/egg/other). Scroll down the menu till you find the one you want. It's listed alphabetically and dragon icons appear when you first breed a dragon (unless you're too low-level to hatch it). Once you've found the icon click 'ok'. If your friend icon isn't visible, open the social menu, then select 'add friends', then click on the friend icon in that menu, then follow the instructions above.
