I like the well. But not quite as enthused about it as just a dust gatherer.
If they DO stop the BEB, I hope that wishes are more frequent rather than less. 4 a year or so.
If they stop BEB for 4 wishes a year I call that a bad deal, both in terms of fun, dragons and BFS profit
When you have a lot of dragons and are looking for just a few, BEB is not really fun. It is an exercise in frustration. People are complaining NOW about the long fails. It is worse during BEB when everything is available.
The thing is that during BEB, players would be likely to spend gems, whether on speeding breeds up or on buying dragons. Unless there can be a way to profit from wishes, I doubt BFS would replace BEB with wishes, no matter how often they are given out.
GCID: rionhow Thanks to ElektronX for my Light Rift avatar!
I experienced one BEB in my old Park (phone refused to connect to FB = park gone ) and I do completely get that when trying for the last couple of dragons it can be really frustrating, but it always is. I find the whole atmosphere and all the eggs and the complete randomness of certain combos to be great fun.
You also get more than 4 different dragons not available at other times from BEB, so you would lose out in pure dragon count as well. And just wishing for the dragon is pretty cheap imo. When you breed it you have "worked" for it

I really really really hope they don't get rid of BEB for wishes. What happened to the days when dragons were bred huh? For me it's just wrong to get a dragon without breeding it. So I can in my own mind never buy or wish apfor a dragon. And for me to get the light and dark rift dragons the only way is through BEB. So then I will be sad.
No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*

I think what we all want is a series of limited BEBs. One for Gem dragons. One for Sun/Moon dragons. One for … well I guess each category in the Dragonarium. Anniversary, Celebration, the Seasons, etc. That way old dragons are available, but not all of them at once.
The fact that not all of the anniversary dragons are available right now doesn't bode well for that type of thinking.

Being a relatively new player of DV, I have never had the opportunity to experience a BEB, so I will be greatly saddened if BFS decides against holding one this year. However, after reading various posts describing how hectic they can be, I do believe that I would much rather prefer a series of limited BEBs as you described, Fletch.
Fletch's idea would be much less chaotic in that not everything is available, just certain things that last more than a week. It'd help newer players enormously, and it would help others start to gather more of what they missed.
Side note: Motley is the troll dragon in this game.

believe one reason the comebacks was a problem is they ended up with an epic (Moonstruct) that has another limited (Love,Rose) as a child. And when that epic was available in a Comeback (Maybe a Sun/Moon one?), the child was not. So people that did not have the child could not try for it anyway.
That's easy to fix, just have the Rose and Love dragons appear before the sun/moon return phase. If someone starts in between they can afford to wait, they have many other dragons to breed
How about an alternate universe Wishing Well titled: I Wish Backflip Would: (ie. reasonable game changes we'd like to see. Purely fantasy-- I know. Not to mention completely impossible. Although they have managed to float islands in the air...hmmm.) Here would be my wishes for Backflip to carry out. [Please don't ask me to pick just one!]
1 you've added CBC, so how about giving it its own nursery, or allowing the other one to be upgraded? 2 You have talented artists, why not make the monolith and snowflake egg pedestals distinct from each other? I have five snowflake pedestals and I'm afraid to delete any one of them because I'm not sure which is which! Plus it just looks lame to me when there are so many creative possibilities. 3 PLEASE, PLEEEASE increase the limit of the rainbow habitat! I mean, 2 -- come on! All the others have been upgraded to hold more dragons. 4 how about a dragonarium for decorations? Decorarium? You know you have to much stuff when: You know you have the first anniversary statue somewhere but you can't find it. 5. I'm disappointed the water theme isn't water! It would look cool to have habitats as islands on the sea. The dragons could swim as they do on gemstone island. Floating decor and paths? Why not? 6. A Fountain of Youth for habitats so there's variety in appearance, less cookie-cutter looking. (Shameless use of the wishing well topic--please don't hesitate to move this if there's a more fitting thread. )
I think the conclusion of long events like the Dragon Faire is a perfect time to hand out a wish token.
In a way BFS did. Think of it this way, K.
Long term players like us tend to have most of the dragons, and decorations....etc etc. So really, the only thing in the Wishing Well that interests me was the Omnitat Habitat. I planned to use my wish on that.
But since I was able to trade in all my collected tickets, I bought 2 Omnitat Habitats, 1 Snf 5 (now I have 2 Snf 5), 2 island themes, and 2 Castles. Right there, the Omnitats and Snf 5 equaled 3 wishes (island themes and Castles are bonus).
Like Fletch_smf said, number 5 is fantastic but what if my Dragons get tired of swimming?
Now I'm invisioning Dragons in gondolas with a whole Venice canal thing going on. It's probably just me.
Dragons can rest on their islands of course! Or they can fly off if the other dragons are splashing around too much. I think they would look undragonlike in gondolas -- but for visitors -- i like it!! "when the moonstruck hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore..."

Been to Venice, on the gondola, and serenade to...I like it!
