My main park (Sunshine992001) will not load. I waited 5 minutes for it. There is just a tiny bit of the bar that does not fill in. I do not have any problems with my baby park. Anyone who sent gems to my main account, this is why you have not received something from me. I would really like to play Whitbee's Candy Bash in my main park.
Try giving it some more time. I wasn't having loading problems before this DV update. Now it takes more than 10 minutes for that last bit of the bar to finish.
If I am adding this up right, we need a little over 40k to get everything new, one copy each. 26 days with 2 double weekends is 32k. Leaving us 8k short. No social breeding the dragons until you get one, none are epic.
And if the event ends without a week to buy things like the faire did, then hoarding tickets won't help except in getting extra food conversion at the end.

Lots of people are having this issue, mine is a 15m wait to get into my main park, the mini parks are instantaneous.
I've seen some peolpe report 30 or 45m waits too. Every time.

The new dragons aren't epics and can't be bred? So we'll have to get one with tickets? I would like to be sure before spending my tickets. Not that I have enough, being only the first day. I sure hope they fix the loading problem. I just leave the iPad and when I go back sometimes the screensaver has kicked on and I have to start it all over again.
Really happy with my gorgeous avatar by ElektronX! GCID: Andr3i4 Any and all friends for Cooperative Breeding are welcome. Gladly accepting any twins also.
I am lucky to have about 200 friends and quite a bunch are level 50 and below. Opening a lower level is much quicker meaning the higher the level, the longer it takes. My park being at 70, i have time to check the fridge for something to eat or drink lol. Now, considering that after 6 hours, many of them spending visiting friends, i only have a total of 772 candies. I hope that tomorrow i can get to the aim of 1000 but am really. not thrilled at all at the thought of having to do this every day! Too many events kill the joy of them. And i have no interest at all for Halloween which tends to disappear here. So i will concentrate on the new dragons only.
Does banking work just like the last event? You can only bank from the Compeition Ring and Tree of Trails?
I need dragon treats
yep, same as the Faire. So we can get up to 100 from the Competition Ring and 40 from the Tree of Trials, double on double weekend days (which is what I'm assuming they meant by "pay attention to what happens when the moon is full"--the waxing moon in the background will be a full moon on the weekends we get double candy). My guess, anyways. Which makes us 4k closer to the 40k goal, at least it's better than the 32k than without it. Combine that with gifts from your social menu and hopefully you'll make it or be close (for all the new content anyways).
Thank you!
Just double checking, the 150 bonus doesn't count towards today's max (like the past events) right?

As viviane noted above, visiting friends with low level parks appears to be MUCH easier if you're doing party hats. I was able to hit all my level 40 and below friends in only a few minutes longer than it took me during the Faire; there was a lot less delay than visiting a level 70 park. So it's worth at least trying that option to see if it works for you. And if you haven't already, please send a support request to BFS when you finally do get logged in. They kinda need as much info as possible if you want them to fix the problem, as this bug isn't behaving the same for every device and every park. Yes, they're probably swamped with these, but more data is better when you're trying to triage a bug that doesn't do the same thing for everyone.
Also, you can turn off the auto sleep function on your device if that's causing you to time out. On iOS, Settings app > General > Auto Lock.

So I finally got into my park, and am down to a 3 minute loading time. Im level 70, so I no longer feel the need to complain. I just get the feeling that this is going to be a looooong event; I was on for over an hour and only got to 636 candies. I think there will be a necessity to log-in multiple times through the day, if for nothing other than the 5 turns of challenges. Ive pretty much accepted that my baby parks will not benefit from this event at all. Also, along with banking what I can, I'm going to be saving my candies until the final week. This strategy worked for me during the Faire, as it meant that I could obtain the Tidal and Muse. It would not surprise me at all if another dragon were sprung upon us!
Koala to all! And make sure to brush your teeth! All of this candy just screams "cavities"
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890
BFS is telling people on Facebook that they found and fixed the problem and will be resolved in the morning. Apparently excessive dragon breath is the issue .... It's got to be Omen ... He looks like a real troublemaker.

So what you're saying is that in order to play a game I should compromise my privacy and security? I don't think so Tim.
Still with the news that a fix is in the works, I will wait until tomorrow to decide on deleting the game.

Anyone else having trouble sending gifts? My game is crashing after every gift I send, which means waiting forever for it to load back up to send another...
Anyone having trouble loading since the candy faire started? I haven't been able to get in all day.
People are having to wait up to 35 minutes for the park to load. Rumor has it that a fix is in the pipeline

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as though we need to play more frequently throughout the day (more so than the faire) to hit the treat cap... That's making the 10 minute waits so much more annoying. Glad BFS is trying to fix the issue

Well, that depends on how you manage your devices. I worked in IT, where regardless of job title, leaving your computer or phone unlocked and walking away from your desk for even 30 seconds was grounds for being fired if the VP caught you at it, because the automatic timed locking feature was not considered adequately secure. With your job on the line, you got good at locking your equipment every single time you stopped using it, without fail. Or you found yourself unemployed.
Realistically, security and privacy are not better protected by letting the device turn itself off several minutes after you've stopped using it and wandered off. And I see people do this ALL the time. (It's a huge waste of battery too.) The only way locking a device is truly effective is if you get in the habit of turning that lock yourself by putting the device to sleep manually, every single time you're done with it. There's a reason iPhones & iPads still have a physical sleep/off button; it's faster and more secure than waiting for Auto Lock to work.
I know some people find it more convenient, but it's not truly more secure than good habits are, and for many people, it's actually less so because they get careless about leaving unlocked devices around during those vulnerable few minutes before the software lock kicks in. If you're not the type to be that careless anyway, then really, you don't need Auto Lock, because it's easy enough to hit that off switch. And I personally find that having Auto Lock on is a huge nuisance when it engages while I'm still actually waiting for something to finish.
Regarding DV, hopefully the fix is up and running very quickly, because they're definitely ticking people off with this one.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but turning off the bats seems to help with the lag while in park. Still waiting about ten minutes to get into the game, though.
I randomly send gems/treats if I have any leftover. No obligation to return anything.
I collected candy from gifts before realising that I should bank them! I think BFS is definitely encouraging us to bank less from gifts with the higher cap. But looks like we get double the amount of candy as compared to tickets from gifts, so that's a plus, I hope.
During the Faire, I'd rarely get any tickets from the Colosseum because it would usually finish after I'd hit the daily cap of 500 tickets. The 1000-candy cap will definitely help us earn candy for a longer period of time, but the question now is definitely whether we'll be able to reach the limit at all. I'll be clearing obstacles off my 13th island for this event to help me earn more candy. I just need to remember not to collect gifts till after I reach the cap! There'll probably be a smaller window for that this time round.
Because the moon features so heavily this time round, it makes me feel like the Omen dragon was a foreshadowing for this event even though I know that it was released for the blood moon eclipse.
This is actually the first event to release multiple dragons around one specific theme. During the Faire there was only one new dragon per phase, not counting Tidal and Muse (I think those didn't match the themes and were just popped in to encourage us to spend gems). So BFS has decided on two separate sub-themes for the dragons released during the Candy Bash: cutesy candy-like dragons and the more traditional spooky dragons.
Also experiencing the long load times on my end, which is really a downer during an event, but hopefully BFS releases the fix soon!
Anyone else notice that there is no 1000 Candy cap today? I blew right by it speeding up the Hatchery and the game is still giving me Candy. Is this by design or a glitch that they will fix as soon as they realise someone messed up. I wonder what it will let me collect tonight? If the sky is the limit then I'm going to be breeding plant dragons until I have enough for a Lycan!
I have only had to wait a couple of minutes for my park to load on both my iPad2 and iPhone5S. I am religious about clearing my cache after every internet session. A built up cache can really slow down the works.
