Unloading close to 1500 gems in my main park has put me in a position to get the rewards I want and need. If not for breeding, I would be nowhere near obtaining the new dragons. And this is the problem that I have with the event: there was no chance of affording the new dragons, even if you maxed-out each day. I understand that BFS are trying to promote co-op breeding, but with these insanely high reward prices, coupled with the ridiculously low breeding rates, which includes Ovalith, it is nigh-on impossible to complete this event. For me, this event was to be one of the best but instead, its been one of the worst. Challenge is not the issue here, nor is the perspective of business decisions. But even pumping 50 dollars into event currency would not put us much closer to obtaining the necessary rewards. Unachievable completion is the most significant error that BFS has made here, and I really hope that they rectify this before and in time for the next event.
Im sending out extreme Koala to all for the last days of the Egg Hunt!
Edit:Im sharing Mono 3 in my main park for any who wish to add me in order to try for Mono 6, or even Mono 5. GCID is Munzy06 This is also in my signature and has been added on the co-op breeding page.
Breeding Target: Ovalith. It's ALWAYS Ovalith! Hoarded gems as a safety net to ensure an Ovalith during BEB, but I'm not sure if I want to spend them: I think I want the thrill of breeding it! Gems wasted on speeding up Ovalith breeding/incubation: 2890

I'm another new player and other than the last few days of the Valentine event, this is my first event. After reading many of the posts here, I see that this wasn't as good as past events, but I still enjoyed it. My dragon count went way up, I received some cute rewards, and I got the Nosferatu dragon as my free egg. I am on a limited income and struggled for days with wanting to buy eggs in order to get the chrysalis dragons, but ultimately didn't. It was hard, but the costs are just too high. At least I still have lots of dragons to look forward to breeding! I don't know if the game's programming is different for players without friends, but I was able to breed 2 Tempest dragons already, as well as a Sakura and several other rares, and even a couple epics. I also got the first 2 Monoliths. I made a Facebook account just for Dragonvale if anyone wants to friend me to co-op breed. ? I'm not sure how to set it up to not use my real name, though.... I'm really curious about the koalas!? Would anyone be willing to explain? Loving this game!
So I just loaded this game a couple weeks ago and quickly got addicted lol. But I wasn't part of the egg hunt from the beginning so trying to figure out what to do now. I have the first two mono dragons, and habitat. And I hope to spend ALL my gems eep! On catching up tomorrow in the rotund so I can get the free egg (what is it??)and marble dragon. But can I put them in my mono habitat or will they need different ones and if so which ones because I can only buy from the first level or two anyway now. Is there anything else buying with the magic eggs??
Hi houseforjoy, and welcome to this great forum! re your q about what habitats etc for what dragons, the quickest way I think, is to tap on your dragonarium, and dragon habitats are all listed in there ( tap on each dragon, to see ) the free egg differed according to what dragons people had, so for you it'll be a REAL surprise without logging in and out again to bolster my ageing memory; two options for chrys dragons; an omnitat ( holds any) and the chrys Hab which is somewhere in the gifts layers at worst; get the dragons and keep them in storage ( storage tower) or in your gifts menu ( I guess) until you can get one or other of those habitats or buy the storage tower... hope this helps im sure one of the vastly more experienced players than I will also chip in with an answer loads of luck!!
Hello houseforjoy, welcome to the forum. The new Chrysalis dragon need a Chrysalis habitat. You could also put them in an omnitat but those are not available now. So if you can not afford the Chrysalis habitat you will have to wait to display them until you have either an omnitat or a Chrysalis habitat. (Everything comes around again at some time in this game). you have also this two options :
1) Let the dragon stay in the social menu in waiting position. Don't collect the egg otherwise it will clogg up your nursery.
2) Buy the Hibernation cave (not the storage tower). The hibernation cave is enorme helpful. You can put dragons in it for which you have no free place or no matching habitat. Later on you can pull them out. The dragon won't earn dragon cash while hibernating. The hibernation cave becomes available at level 14.
The storage tower is also helpful. It can hold habitats, decorations and some buildings, but it can't hold dragons.

Will we still be able to breed the event dragons during this final week that we can collect MEs that are banked, or is it all done tomorrow except for collecting from the bank and buying prizes?
Just got an in-game message saying the Prize Market will be available through April 4th. I hope that this is a mistake because it contradicts previous information that it would be available through April 11th (i.e., the extra post-event week).
If they don't clear that up soon-ish, I'll have to start hedging my bets by cashing out early.
Okay I am confused, the warning screen says the Prize Market will be available through tomorrow, April 4th, after which all eggs become dragon treats. What about the 7000 banked eggs which will have no prize market according to the warning screen when the game opens?
This is my first dragonvale event ever, and I have been following this forum for tips (very helpful!) all throughout. Just now I noticed a notification saying that "the prize market will be available through April 4, after which any remaining eggs will be turned into dragon treats. During this time, you can still collect magic eggs from your gifts, but the daily maximum still applies." I thought the prize market was supposed to be available for another week, and eggs able to be collected from your gifts for the duration of the extra week? Could the date in the message be incorrect? Does anyone with more dragonvale even experience have any insight into this? I have collected all my eggs and haven't turned in any at all yet because I wanted to come up with a plan for spending them once I knew how many I was working with total.
Also as a side note, is the easter event typically the only time of year someone without any monolith dragons can begin collecting monoliths? I was going to forgo getting any monolith dragons so I could get a duskwing dragon and lost island in the third prize tier in this event (and chrysalis/ovalith dragons in the second tier), but upon realizing you have to buy at least one monolith in order to have a chance at even co-op breeding any monoliths, I am second guessing skipping out on one. Any advice would be appreciated.
How do they expect us to collect gifts through April 4th if there's a daily limit. That's not fair.
I think we can collect Monday with a 1000 limit as usual. When the timer expires we were supposed to be able to collect from our gifts according to the help button in the prize tent.
But the limit 1000 eggs per day, people counted that they'd get 7000 from banked eggs from the social section, and now these 7000 will turn into treats, right?

The way I think it works is ... let's say you buy stuff Monday and have 500 eggs left on your screen counter when the event ends, but you want to buy the mono 6 dragon with your banked eggs. You can cash in 1000 on Tuesday, 1000 on Wednesday etc until you have "collected" 4995 eggs to buy it. When the prize tent closes on the 11th, any leftover eggs turn into treats. This is how they set it up in the prize tent help button.... (I have no idea what today's message is about). If I'm wrong, someone please correct me!!
So do we have to turn in all of our non-banked/gift eggs by the 4th or risk losing them? Is that how it normally works? The help screen makes it sound like none of the eggs will turn to treats until the 11th, but the notification in the news screen makes it sound otherwise. I hope backflip clears this up...
The way the notice says, the market will be available only through April 4th and that's it. We won't be able to collect 1000 banked eggs every day for a week. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Ok guys, lets get logical. In about 20 hours the event will be over and the event island will vanish. BUT! Your magic eggs icon on your screen will still be there, showing your accumulated total. And just like currently, when you will push that icon, it will open the prize list and you will be able to make your purchases. T is logical because all other buildings on the event island will become obsolete. Games etc. So no worries, you will ba able to make your shopping. The only point i am not sure about is, do we have, each day, get those 1000 eggs we may take from our banked eggs. What if we miss a day. Can we then claim 2000 ?

Probably not since you wouldn't get 2000 if you missed a day during the event.
I'm confused and a little annoyed by the new warning screen. It implies we only have one day to connect from our bank, then all the rest will be treat-ified. I was under the impression that we'd have a week to do so...
Tbh, upon counting, I can still get everything I don't have, less lacewing, so I'm not terribly disadvantaged, just annoyed

I think this warning screen was just a mistake. Also, there's a timer in the social menue saying the event is running about 1 day and 22 hours from now.
i agree with Nessa that there is a mistake in the verbiage.
Doubles ends in about 21 hours.
In the help section of the prize exchange, please read the last 2 rules. 1. The last rule (completing ...) indicates the egg "hunt" runs through the 4th, which is 24 hours after doubles ends.
2. The second to last rule (Unsued magic eggs) indicates prize collection still available through the 11th, and any unused eggs turn in to food on the 12th. Daily maximum still applies.

BFS have a post on their FB page, saying this was an error.
