Omg I just got another regal. EVERY egg in my park has been a regal! One day I didn’t even have an egg. I haven’t been able to breed a single dragon or clone one. Sending you luck!
I QUIT! Just went to buy an egg since I’ve gotten a regal every day (including 2 that I bought).......I got another Regal. This is wrong! I’m done now. They need to fix their algorithms. I’ve accepted that I do crappy during every event but this is beyond poop!
I consider this by far the worst event that they've ever done. Worse than the one where they didn't give us enough to buy the limited dragon the first weekend before fixing it. Worse than the last starfall event, where we couldn't buy the dragons but they were fairly easy to breed and not limited.
Between my account, my several alts, my kids, and my wife, we've managed to get one Djinni bred on one child's device. 6 days with 4 doubles, so basically 10 days worth of currency per account - that's 70 days worth of attempts combined with the free mystery egg for 4 days each, so many countless breeds between them, and one Djinni. With a week left on this event, I can pretty much count out my chances of getting this dragon on my main account. I think the Dragonvale World team is taking control of this game, as they ran their own game into the ground with these types of changes. The odds are set way, way too low. By a factor of 10 or more. And when I'm not spending my futile time breeding or buying mystery eggs for this one dragon, I'm searching through 20+ decorated islands for a hidden egg that has almost no chance of being the dragon I need. Spending 15+ minutes checking each island and finally giving up, restarting the game and then restarting the search is so much fun.
I can't wait for this event to end. I'll put up that Djinni egg on the kid's game and have them leave it there until I get a clone someday. This is the frustration that made me quit DV World, and while I have a lot more time invested in this game I'm still not going to stick it out if they continue this trend. Throw in the whole punishing players who pay them money by removing free gems issue, and you have to wonder what happened at Backflip to crash them so far from being such a top mobile gaming company.
I agree! I bought another egg today and guess what it was??? Regal! I also don’t have an egg in my park. I had two other people look just to make sure I’m not losing my mind....no egg. We even reset the game 3x. It’s very disappointing. I’ve lost my desire to play.
Found all the flag bearers and chests in my park, the purple frame has disappeared, restarted 4 times and NO golden egg for me today.
The golden eggs are only for doubles days, unfortunately, and doubles just ended as of reset today. The next doubles should start on Friday. Presumably it will only be the usual 3-day doubles, because there's no holiday weekend (unless our non-American friends have some obscure holiday to contribute? Any excuse for a party... )

I noticed in a couple of other games that that they have recently started disclosing the actual odds (e.g., 25% of getting item A, 75% chance of getting item B). For the regular eggs, it says that there is an equal chance to get any dragon with that class (e.g., Rare or Epic), but with the new event eggs, it just says some dragons are rarer than others. I saw the odds posted earlier in this thread for breeding, but are those the same odds for the eggs? Is there somewhere in the game itself where a player could see these odds (without having to look at the code)? I'm wondering if Backflip is going to have to start disclosing the odds or are the mystery eggs not considered loot boxes?

I wondered about this myself. One of my favorite games started releasing all odds over the past year to meet these requirements. All odds, for everything random in the game. This was added by not just Apple but all companies to meet requirements in various other countries, for example China. These mystery eggs are certainly loot boxes, you can buy currency for cash and spend it on the eggs. This is exactly the type of thing that's required to be disclosed to customers now. You might even be able to make the argument that all breeds should show the odds too, as you can spend money on Etherium and it costs Etherium to breed dragons in the rift. I'm guessing that it won't happen until Apple and Google take notice of the game and tell them to make the changes. It also will depend on how strong their presence is in countries where the law applies.

I’ve been playing DV almost since it’s inception and I can’t remember when this type of ‘Jumbo Golden Egg’ mechanism/procedure appeared, was it in this Event? I went through my park 3 times the other day and finally found it and that Jumbo is hard to miss! Today, after my 2nd unsuccessful trips, I decided to sign in here and find out and ‘low and behold’... Guess I should be checking out the Wiki... Anyway, thanks JW, you saved my a lot of time and frustration.
Hi Using these elements don't you still get rainbow fails?
If using three elements or less on the regular vale side there are no rainbow fails. If using three in the rift you will get rainbow fails because the rift element counts as the fourth element which is required for rainbows.

I bought another mystery egg today and got a twin Dijinni (weird because I didn’t have one yet). That gives me at least one of each new dragon; now I just need display eggs. I send tons of koala to all of you stuck in the land of repeat regals.

My bad... I know better... Level 16 Magnetic, Metal trait + Level 15 Bubble, Water trait and it was an Air day in my Rift. I had been using that combo for days having had no luck with Current+Meteor or Verdigris+Plasma since the first day of the event.
If you do happen to be lucky and have this dragon, you might consider leaving it up in co-op after the event when there is nothing else pressing to share.

I can't say I hate this event. I like that we are focused on getting 4 dragons, not distracted by games and such, searching for components for these dragons (golden egg, chests) , limited distracting deco's and eggs... It really is all about the new dragons and they are pretty cool. Plus we are allowed to try to breed them even tho the odds are crummy. It feels like they are trying out something new - it isn't perfect but an interesting new take on the same game. I say Props for trying! And please make the odds a bit better..,

I’m not Cyn, but I finally got a Rifted Djinni last night. Level 15 Kampos and Level 12 Hooded.

I give gems randomly to those who seem to need them because I'm not organized enough to keep a list, but I'm always looking for more Party Hat friends!
I have been playing several games for years and have watched many of them evolve from games where everything is available for everyone into two and three tiered games where a variety of stuff is available only for purchase with actual money. I have my fingers crossed that this will not happen with Dragonvale.
Until it does, while I do get frustrated with the ridiculous breeding odds and all the other recent twists and turns that have made it difficult to obtain stuff in a timely manner without a real time purchase of in game currency, I am grateful and extremely loyal to a game that will allow me to have everything without spending money if I don't want to.
There are other options available if I can't afford a certain purchase. The cost can instead be paid in time and patience. While it is annoying, I think it is a fair compromise, at the end of the day, after all, Dragonvale is a business. And while Backflip Studios can make it difficult to resist spending money on every event, as of yet they are not making it mandatory. You can eventually have everything that is available in game. Making purchases compelling for players but not compulsory is a much better choice than having a tiered game that requires a consistent influx of real money if one wants to stay a current and viable player. I have had to let go of many a game, one I had been playing since 2003, because most of the time I felt like a kid with her nose pressed against the bakery window wishing for a cupcake. Too much stuff became out of reach. I support BFS when I can and have my fingers crossed they will continue to keep everything available in some way or other without having to spend real money to get it. This recent turn of events is a bit scary though and I hope BFS gets what it needs or what it is looking for because there are other much more drastic steps they can take that would leave me, and other players like me, behind in the dust. I've seen it before. I would hate to have to stop playing this game that I love.
I'm satisfied with this event. I missed one day of doubles entirely. I didn't get any golden eggs except the last day (not online and didn't know to look for them). Nor did I get to effectively breed yet I've got Regal, Opulent and Scarab (And twin Regal. And Rifted Regal) and enough eggs left over to buy one more (or some eggs. Trying to decide what to do) And There are still several days left in the event to breed and collect eggs.
