One cool thing is that if one evolves a Coal or Gift Rift dragon to the new Ornamental versions, the amount of income/hour increases. E.g. when I evolved my lvl 20 Coal, the number of E/hour increased from 20 to 30. And in the coal/gift versions one can update them in the Tiamat/Bahamut (but this cannot be done with the Ornamentals).
So I will primarily be updating coal/rift dragons in Tiamat/Bahamut before I update them to the new Ornamental versions
Okay, screw that stupid timer on the Name That X games if there's a chest. Just lost a play to a misclick when I was aiming for Magic Tap and looked back over to my computer because that game isn't a thieving brat that auto-starts...
I wonder if Lokilure and Saccharine are going to be like Aubergine. Aubergine was only available for a limited time to be purchased, but it could be evolved at any point once all of the requirements were met.
What a hopeful thought, since there's no way I will collect all the feathers and gumdrops in 6 days, but I might have them by the end of the event..
It looks like the only way to get missing Porcelain and Wrath is to buy missing decos at 50 gems each and evolve (more gems, I am sure) or wish. Since I am missing 6 decos for each one, that will be at least 800 gems (600 for decos and at least 200 evolution fees), pretty expensive. I'd rather spend my gems on extra games to get the decos for this Winter Saga, since they will probably be equally expensive once the event ends.

I think it is 100 gems to evolve Wrath, Porcelain and Corrupticorn.
Have to admit I was hoping the decorations would only be 5 Gems max. At 50 gems (and still needing 7, 7, and 4 decorations), it is going to cost far too much to get there.
At least the Food decorations from the last event are just dragon cash.
I suspect the decorations from this event will likely share the 50 gem price tag (eventually), so the 5 gems per play isn't such a bad deal (10 plays per decoration plus event currency).
I'm seriously beginning to need a search function just for the eggs in my gifts list... 🤦♀️
be sure that all your nursery places are occupied and click on collect. the mystery egg then stays in your gift list but now you are able to see, what kind of egg it is and if it has traits. All eggs with traits can be collected immediately because they need no time to incubate. this shortened my list a lot

Just finished up my feathers collection but I can't evolve either Coal or Gift.
Ugh, maybe that means that we can *only* get Lokilure by purchasing it now while it’s available for purchase? If so, that stinks. Feathers elude me so I’m impressed you got them all.

I had no trouble evolving the Lokilure with a coal dragon after finishing my feathers collection. Unless something just changed in the game, you should still be able to evolve it.
Edit: Just cloned Lokilure in the co-op with a friend's Lokilure.

I noticed that Fiery Figs and co were available to buy again from the Treat Farms. Not that they beat the Karrots, but Jellyfruit are cheap for their food.
We now get berries if we sell the dragons we get as gifts. I could kick myself bc I got rid of about 15.
How does this work? I only get the options to hatch, sell for coins, or donate when I tap on the dragon in my gift list.
When you sell a gift dragon 15 berries are added to your total, you don't actually have to do anything. By gift dragon I mean one you get from a friend as a gift not just actual gift dragons

I spent my berries buying 20 chests from the market. I’m still only able to evolve 2 dragons. All I get are dupes playing via gems. This use to be my favorite event of the year next to Halloween. They’re both ruined now.
I just found a neat trick. When you get a toy chest from Santa, you can press the back button to store it in your social menu for later, instead of opening it immediately.
Not sure if iOS players can do this because no back button.

Does anyone know if whining helps with putting a stop to getting all these duplicate decorations? I still need 33 and my last 7 tries have all been duplicates. I've even tried playing a different game - but still duplicates. On top of the duplicates, plant + plant has given me a timer for a motley of all dragons! I'm up to 40000 in rift breeding trying to fill the donation crates in the mirthful market. What to do - what to do. I may have maxed myself out for today.

Only consolation I can give is that at (a likely) 50 Gems per decoration next BEB, you get 10 tries per decoration that you still need.
On the decorations, just keep in mind that the average player will spend 200 gems on games to get 60 unique decorations, 200-300 more gems to get it to 70, and another 300-400 to get it to 80. At this point, you'll likely be missing the 1 rare for most decorations except maybe one or two sets, and you'll be missing several gumdrops, nutcrackers, feathers, and arc lamps. Except to still be missing 4 or so of most of those.
Now you'll need to buy toy chests to finish the last 20. We'll get 3 free chests from the login calendar and one for the community reward. So you really only need to buy 16 or so chests. Given that you just spent 500-800 gems and collected berries from the extra games and selling extra decorations, you should have more than enough to cover the costs of the chests + evolutions.
If you're not willing to spend 500+ gems, you likely will not get to evolve the dragons and you'll end up picking a couple to buy at the end. Or start saving, and you'll earn quite a few over the duration of the event and may still finish. I had the gems, so spent them. What's the point of having them if not to get new stuff?

Yeah posted this and then checked again, was able to evolve Saccharine and Loki.
Just missing one of each Nutcracker, Flutter, Gift and Arc.
