Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, Happy Holidays if you don’t, and for all who struggle with the holidays, I wish you peace and grace this holiday season! Thanks to everyone for the help and support you’ve given me in my DragonVale obsession this year, I am grateful for all of you!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. What a fabulous gift from BackFlip: the Starlight Spruce! Looks stylish next to Sandakloz’s Hut. We are always saying we would love to have something off of the event islands and now we do.
Not sure if something changed but for the first time in buying a Mystery Egg through the Rift Market, I received a twin regular dragon (Sprite) that I needed. Usually I always receive rifted twins. Might be able to catch up on missing dragon twins if this keeps up.
Hope everyone is having 🐨🐨🐨 getting the newest dragons!

I now have all the decos and have evolved all available dragons. Now I can start to replenish my gem stash. Also need to start saving up berries to get all the pedestals because they are way too difficult to get by breeding.
Koala all!

So @lady Redwolf (sorry, the board auto correct will NOT let me type your name correctly, ticks me off) are you evolving all 4 variations of each dragon? Ie 40 dragons; Vale norm Vale twin, Rift norm Rift twin for all 10? So 40,000 berries Or evolving Rifties for parents and then breeding them in Vale for Vale sets? and then 40pedestals, omg
what approach are others using? I’m overthinking this I thunk 🤪 im also thunking I’ll buy the remaining 3 decos rather than wait for them as gifts because I have not found where it states they will be the final missing decos... Can someone tell me where to look if it says that? chook in henhouse currently 😂

That's a great question regarding the upcoming 3 gift decos. I have been wondering about that. I need 3 more decos, a feather, a nutcracker and a flutterfruit and thought I should wait for the gifts, but I also have not seen any guarantee those gifts will not be duplicates.
My approach has been rather lacking in foresight, logic and finesse. Initially I bred 5 regular gift dragons and 5 regular coal dragons and leveled them all to 20, completely forgetting that Mr. Bones already explained in a previous event thread that it makes more sense to breed rifts and use them in the co-op to get a regular and a twin. So after doing two dragons by evolving a regular and then having to pay to evolve a rift, I remembered it makes more sense to evolve a rift first. And since I am being inundated with all these lovely gifts in my social menu, among which are many, many, rift gift and coal dragons it would be silly and a tad ungrateful not to make good use of them. So I am evolving the rift dragons first and trying for the rest in the Co-op. However I still have several regular coal and gift dragons that I already leveled up to 20 (in an effort to get ahead but instead just wasted a ton of food on) that I can use if I am not able to evolve regular dragons using the rift in the coop within the time left for the event. I don't collect rift twins. For my purposes a twin is a twin and I just want one either regular or rift will do.
Yes - I just failed to complete my five day card with a Bilby still outstanding, so the days of easily breedable dragons seem to be gone too. Well, I still have five hours left but I don't have a rift Cotton so can't even start on the Bilby. Just waiting to see what the next card is. Up to now I've managed to complete a card every day, but not the last four days, which makes a real difference to my iceberry collection rate.

Thanks for replying. I can't believe they would do that since there are so few ways to collect iceberries. I was completing a card a day also but I guess that ship has sailed.

I also have a 5 dragon donation card and it has 5 days to complete - I thought we normally had 2 days. I had not been collecting 2 rift dragons until after we had this game before and someone mentioned it was easier if you had 2 in the rift. So I started trying to collect two - I'm far from having 1 of each. However, it has been fairly easy but this time I don't have 2 sakuras and 2 carnivals - only 1. I bred up to 20000 E and quit for the day.

I asked Backflip Support about the Giftery Chests and this was the response I got: "As far as I'm aware, the chests received from the calendar rewards will be unowned decorations unless you already own them all."
Not quite as definitive as I would have hoped, but at least it sounds like they'll probably be unowned decorations.

They look like the toy chests, which are guaranteed unique. It's possible they're something else, but doubtful. I swear at some point I saw that they were called toy chest too, but it's not showing that now. Maybe before the update. I still bought the last three, because I had extra berries and I am impatient.
My approach is simple. I evolve two of each dragon, one rift and one rift twin. I then breed the two of those in the rift until I get a rift egg. My card had an impossible dragon to get for me, so I ignored it for 5 days while I did this will all new dragons. When breeding in the rift, I often got 1 or more regular versions too before getting the rift egg.
I then move the rift and rift twin to the main park, and breed them there (unless I got 1+ normal already from the rift breeding). I get two normal and a normal egg and move the rift ones back home. At that point I'm only missing a twin rift egg, a normal twin egg, and a normal twin. I don't have extra twin normal coals or gifts, just the rifts from the gifts.

I’m not that much of a completionist lol I’m just evolving one dragon, whether it be normal, twin, or rifted. Then I’ll just need the pedestals for each.

I got a Toy Chest from a gift in the park, and got a duplicate White Tuplet. I am only missing a White Gumdrop. So it is either a bug, or "toy chests" not bought aren't guaranteed to not give duplicates.

It's the Toy Chests from the Mirthful Market that are supposed to be 100% chance of a decoration the player does not already own. Unfortunately the gift box ones found in your park or won on the mini games don't have the same guarantee.

So after accumulating a massive store of duplicates of duplicates, I have finally managed to evolve a dragon - Libretto. I was watching it and admiring my dragon and my perseverance when it breathed it’s dragon breath ... and all my joy dissipated. Why, oh why, are the musical notes upside down? Is it some sort of Lord of Misrule thing? I wouldn’t have minded if they were doing backflips, but upside down just grates. It’s how I imagine jazz notes, and I do not like jazz.
Trepak is now available by tranforming a Gift dragon provided you have your 10 feathers. Thus, the next dragon will logically be available with a Coal dragon and the 10 nutcrackers.

Ummm, Trepak is Gift and Nutcracker and Jadice is Coal and Arc Lamp.
I notice that that we can now select other elements, such Moon, Surface, Ornamental when filtering. Excellent upgrade to this function. Great work Backflip.
