We've had a good run here, but given the circumstances at Backflip and the unknown of what will happen after December, I recommend we hold off anymore testing/work until we know the future of the game.
I recently discovered the Dragonvale posts on your blog, and I've been using the suggested dragons for breeding and cloning in the Social Cave. I find that the % for 'regular dragons' don't go down to zero even though the sum of the fixed odds ('set %') add to more than 100% ('total set %'). I first noticed it with Grace (Cuddlewing + water + light) and started logging the results (50+), but unfortunately lost the list due to a crash. But now I'm seeing the same thing with Canvas: 4 of 16 breeds were regular dragons. I don't know the reason for this, but I thought I'd share my observation.
Poison (mine) + Canvas (friend's) in the Social Cave Smolder Auroch Soot Dodo Iron ! Soot Verdigris Ire Pollen ! Snootroot Bronze Forge ! Chrome ! Inferno Smoulderbrush Canvas

Thanks so much for that. I have not bred any regulars myself with any dragon pairing that has greater than 100%, so that is good to know. Would love to hear feedback from anyone that is tracking their breed attempts, and has a similar experience. The more information we gather, the closer we will be to finding the truth. :-)
Are any of the testing crew still around and able to test things? Looking at Fletch's numbers has really sparked my curiosity again, and there are several tests I'd love to run.
One very important question we need to work out is how are cloning results impacted when the result sets are large. Something with my data led me to believe the cloning results are checked first, regardless of the number of results. But now I'm second guessing that assumption, and I'd love to get a clear answer. Unfortunately none of my alt parks have the perfect dragon to test this result: Embossed.
Embossed has a 30% single parent clone chance, while two Embossed parent chances are not listed. That's in the rift and in normal caves, NOT in social.
If anyone has a rift Embossed in an alt test park and can run some daily tests with Embossed + Rainbow, that would be super helpful. I can do it on my main park once this event ends, before the next starts - but I'm currently trying to catch up with new dragons in this event right now.
Embossed + Rainbow has so many results that the percentages sum up to 480+%. If the cloning is impacted, then I would expect to get Embossed around 6% of the time. If it's not, we'd see it around 30% of the time. It shouldn't take very many test runs to quickly see this pattern.

I don't have an Embossed dragon at any park. Though one of my friends is sharing one. It has a small social cloning chance, but we'll see what I can do.
EDIT: 2000 gems spent. I have not cloned an Embossed dragon to my park.

Would love to start keeping track again. Will be doing so now, and posting my results there.
My results from today from trying to parent clone Masque and Canvas in the Social Cave, in both cases with Poison as the "local" dragon. 60 tries for Masque, 90 for Canvas. (The results are from more than one park). I don't want to over-interpret the results, but it seems, prima facie, that the odds for Poison are indeed around 10% as speculated. Other regular dragons account for 12% in both cases. (Possibly a coincidence due to other factors). I'm not sure what else to make of this... yet. Just sharing.
