Yes definitely. I didn’t get that warning but thank you Arkynos . Quil did say this a few days back so turns out he is right as always. Finish whatever you are going to do in the chest gamery and sell all unvanted body-parts before reset tomorrow. (Dear god, this does not sound good. Kiwichris I will get you that contact number)
2 of each for me as well for total of 4 sets per dragon. This way I can equip both rift and twin rift variants too.
That was my plan also. Turns out to be trickier than I thought, since I had 10-13 of quite many but only 1 of way too many, ugh this event is a headache. I have evened it out a little bit of course by selling excessive ones. (I still feel really unlucky in this event and it has cost me an arm and a leg in gems).
Managed to breed Bastion though, so I can afford the rest of the dragons.
Will just have to see how it goes with getting 2 of every piece, depends on what happens in the last few days, maybe I can acquire/afford them, maybe not.
All in all I am really happy though, that I will definitely get all the beautiful dragons, that is most important to me. If my calculations are right, I should also be able to afford the pedestals and a few Surface Habitats.
Yeah it's unlikely I will get 2 of every single one but I'd say I have a second one for atleast 2/3 which isn't too bad. That way I'll be able to mostly decorate the rift versions. In hindsight I should of kept 3s of the counterparts to the ones that I have one of if that makes sense lol. That way I can fully equip rift versions too even if I have to mix and match a little.
Speaking of rift versions, I began today with 4 missing and ended up breeding 3 of those so now just missing a rift Armament and that about it for the entirety of the event (Tip: Use Eridanian + Bizurian for a chance at Psyche, Dash and Rigel while adding min # of fails). Can't really ask for much more this event

What? I’ve played three times today and have seen no such notification. There is absolutely no indication in my game that today is the last day to earn magic. If that’s true, then BFS has really screwed up again. There’s going to be a lot of upset players tomorrow when they can no longer earn magic with no notice at all! Ugh!

I'm curious to know what Spellforms everyone is using on their dragons. I like more or less all the designs, but have some preferences between each pair and wonder what everyone else thinks. Here's my list:
Darcowl - Organic. I like the hiding animation better. I can still see you, Conjured Darcowl! Outrider - Organic. I prefer teh the way it flies. Quantum - Both. I keep swapping this one around. Conjured's wing lattice is really neat, but I also love the glow effect Organic has on the concentric rings. Riptide - Conjured. Big departure from the base dragon but the abyssal vibe is really cool. Armament - Conjured. Big chunky shockwave emitting tail. Dash - Conjured. This is a close one but the mechanical look is pretty unique in DragonVale. Sparkles - Conjured. The sheet lightning glow on the body and the electric arcs between the tail are both great. Vanguard - Organic. It's VERY glowy. Psyche - Both. Been swapping this one too. I prefer Organic's flares, but Conjured has a very unique look I rather like. Bastion - Organic. The wings on Conjured are gorgeous, but I prefer Organic's head. I don't what quite what the tail/back/summoned floating things are but I like them and they gave Organic the win.
FWIW, just checked the Info tab on the island (Bizarre Bazaar) and it indicates ‘more magic available in about 5 hours’. Not sure this is relevant, or sadly, to be trusted...

Pretty sure it always looks like that on the day an event ends so we'll know in a couple+ hours. Personally I would love to see this event end today. It's been a long haul!
So, yesterday I feverishly trying to clone Fury, with no luck. Was getting a bit miffed, when suddenly, there it was...yay! Wait! I already have one. How did that happen?! Oh wait, I bought it with magic. [insert huge eye roll here]. So, beside the senior moment, I ended up with pretty koala overall. I used gems to play extra games and bought chests with magic for the pieces, ending up with a full set of each. I managed to breed/clone all but two of the dragons which gave me enough magic to buy the two I didn't. Yesterday I had about 5000+ magic left so bought some of the habitats even though I really don't need them yet.
Still do not love this type of event, but it wasn't horrible for me.

Yeah, so thankful to have read it here. I did the same, plus bought a few more games. There probably will be some unhappy valers out there. 😣

So I’m maxed out on habitats and it will cost me 550 gems to add another, so cant buy any habs w my remaining magic; can’t buy my one missing dragon, Riptide, cos don’t have his full costume, So, the only thing left to use magic on is mystery chests in the hope of getting missing pieces of costume, yes? Or buy and sell pedestals for better dc...sigh And so it ends, not with a bang, but a whimper What a botch job at the close, BFS ... someone took their eye off the clock, huh 👿

Like most of you, I never received a notice that the event was ending. I knew it was going to, but not because of Backflip's efforts to inform us of the upcoming ending. Using the notification system for this is a terrible idea. With so many apps on my phone, I turn notifications off for the vast majority. It only takes getting woken up once in the middle of the night for some game you haven't touched in years to get me to go through everything and turn it all off.
Even DV, which I leave on but keep silent for notices, doesn't send them correctly to my ipad. It sends them to my old device, which is collecting dust in the corner, and to my phone which I don't use to play games much, but very rarely do they show on the device I actually use to play. And when I do get notices, they're almost always about getting twins so that I've come to just ignore them completely. Sending out an event ending notice with a 'notification', and not displaying it in game clearly, is a bad judgement call from Backflip. They usually do much better and have countdown timers in game.
Despite the rocky start from this event, it did end on a much better note. I spent 1000 gems early on, with the lower odds and much less to show for the cost. The entire event was looking bleak, but in the end I got every dragon, rift versions of all the limiteds, and all of the costume pieces. And magic leftover to buy habitats or other things. The event was long enough that I made my 1000 gems back before the end too.
I'd like to think that they learned a lesson here, and won't make events so difficult for everyone. But we all know that's not true.

Quil I really hope that this is a guess and not insider knowledge. I could really do with at least two weeks between this extremely long event and the next one starting.
As we still have two days to spend our magic, I will buy all the spellform chests to get the rest of the costume pieces. I can see this being rather tedious, especially as you have to clear each one from the social menu before buying the next one.
I can't help wondering what Backflip gain by their recent change in event methods. I always paid about $5 real money at the start of an event and another $5-ish at the end, which usually enabled me to buy the new dragons which I hadn't managed to breed. But for the past few events I've been so disappointed by their changed systems that I haven't spent a single dollar in real money.
I've managed to acquire all the enhancements and all the dragons except Faux and Darcowl, which I hope to eventually breed in the coop. I'm still ignoring the ghost dragons, although I've acquired some by the purchase of mystery eggs.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who no longer spends real money because of the mean spirited attitude of those who are pulling the strings?
The next event starting so soon is certainly a guess, but there is data behind that guess so I'd be willing to bet on it. I do hope I'm wrong, I'm going out of town that weekend (long Labor Day holiday here) and don't want to deal with a new event starting at the same time.
