If you have a suggestion, recommendation, idea, or concept for Deca Games, please post it on this thread. If the post receives a positive response from three or more players who either reply or 'like' the post, Adlerist, DV Game Representative, will pass on the idea to Deca Games. Since we don’t want to recommend controversial or unpopular ideas, the post does need to have support from fellow players.
UPDATE: January 2023
DEAR DECA has a new addition! Please welcome the Wizards' Idea Collective!
Hello all! I'd like to share the Wizards' Idea Collective, a document and form to help collect the community's ideas in one place. This was only made for fun and I have no plans to get this forwarded to DECA, however, I may do monthly summaries and if representatives would like to forward any good suggestions to the DECA team, they are welcome to. Any and all ideas are welcome, just remember to be respectful.
• If you have fun, imaginative ideas for the game that are not meant for Deca, please post them on the WIC document.
• If you have suggestions that can possibly be implemented in the game, and you’d like them to be passed on to Deca, post them on this thread. Once there’s a sufficient number, I’ll compile all the requests and submit them to Deca.
• Forum members can certainly put their Dear Deca requests on WIC, but unless Worms, the Forum member, or I post it on this thread, it will not be relayed to Deca. So members may need to double-check this thread to be sure their idea has been posted at some point.
• WIC will help reach players who are not on the Forum, or have problems or difficulties using the Forum.
• To make this 'Dear Deca' project work, everything needs to be in one place. Since I don’t have the time (or energy) to search through every DV community for various suggestions, requests must be on this thread to be considered. Usually, players don’t mind making the minor effort of posting here for Deca, but many players do not use the Forum.
• Please remember that submitted ideas may not be implemented in the game. It’ll be up to Deca to decide if a suggested concept helps the game, is economically feasible for them to add, works within their time constraints, and is beneficial for them as well as all players.

The players of DragonVale are greatly indebted to you for rescuing the Vale and mending our hearts. Thank you.
As you work on the game, could you please rescue Tolzar’s Optical Oracle next? If Tolzar is a permanent feature in every park and offers the same amount of visions/ads for every player, we will know this aspect of the game is finally fair. And instead of hesitating or resisting in-app purchases for fear of losing Tolzar and hundreds of gems, we will freely and joyfully support the game to ensure its future and show our appreciation.
Thank you!

I'm not sure if Deca is here, but I can always give a heads up! (forgive me if i get lost in the forums this is still very new to me)
Thanks, Tayzers, and welcome back!
The forum moderators reached out to Deca when they took over DragonVale. Deca is aware we’re here.

We are told to shut off special effects to avoid crashing, but I can't for the life of me figure WHY THEY KEEP TURNING ON when they're already off! This occurs specially on double days and it's a pain.

Dear DECA,
This is just a little thing, but I'd like to have the ability to flip and rotate habitats and decorative items. I think it would make decorating our islands much more fun and allow for greater creativity and customization. I'd also like a bigger variety of plant, tree and flower decorations. 😊 🌼 🌲
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
I don't know if there is a thread equivalent to "hey backflip" where we used to post our wishes, if there is, please move this post...
I know it's a little lazy, but I wish the quests for epic dragons would show their habitat affiliations instead of their hidden elements as "hints". Or at least change the filter to go by the epics' hidden elements rather than their habitat type. It wasn't so bad before, when there weren't so many to try to remember, and the same quest would show up again and again, but now there are SO many that not only is there a lot to remember, each one comes up less frequently, so there is less opportunity to actually learn it. And if you don't recognize the quest and it's epic, the right dragon won't show up if you filter by elements, so there's no chance to make an "informed" guess; and showing the elements is of no use at all unless you are able to recognize that the quest is not an epic one, in which case you probably already know what dragon to send without looking at the elements. In the scheme of things, it's not a big problem, just a very minor annoyance that would make me very happy if it were fixed!

DragonMoonX, many, many years ago, Backflip participated in an AMA and was asked about rotating decorations. I remember their reply was negative, but I couldn’t recall all the specific details as to why it wasn’t possible. I searched for the answer, and eventually found it:
It was so disappointing to learn DV couldn’t accommodate rotation. But as far as your request for more plants, trees, and flowers, I’m right there with you! I’d also like to see more paths and buildings. Some of my favourite decos are the Dragon Library and DragINN, and they’ve been with the game since its released in 2011. It’s been a terribly long time since we’ve had any new structures or foliage, and dog’s years since we’ve had any permanent decorations.

We like events, really we do. The new splash screen and the upcoming dragons look amazing.
I have a small request please. Would it be possible to have a break between events of a week - only seven days is all I ask. It would give me a chance to catch my breath, rearrange habitats and decorations and try to breed dragons or pedestals (not necessarily successfully) that I haven't been able to get in the just finished event.
You could still promote the upcoming event, so that we know you haven't forgotten about us and there is something on the horizon, but a break between events would be very well received by a lot of players.

This topic was recently discussed with Deca and the Game Reps. Deca said they’re not planning on having all events back-to-back, but are starting them at different intervals so it’s not predictable. Some events will start a week later, others a day later, as a way to mix it up and make it more interesting.
I suggested they use mini events to keep players engaged and break the repetition of constant events. We were given a week off between the Traveling Dragon Faire and The Spring Shellebration, but I think a lot of players don’t recall that because the long events are bleeding into each other, so it just feels like a never-ending string of events.
Monetarily, Deca needs to keep DV in event mode, because events are how mobile games make their money, and when there’s no new content/events, players become bored and quit. But I think a way to truly mixing it up is to provide mini events (Twin Weekend, Decorator Week, etc) between regular events. It would extend the time between events, retain players by keeping event burnout away, and encourage gem purchases so the game won’t be lagging in it’s revenue. The other Game Reps would also like to see mini events and suggested some fantastic ideas for new ones. It seems mini events are a win-win, or at least worth a try.

Thank you for rescuing DragonVale. Just one thing with the current event ... please spare a thought for those of us in different time zones. Being in the Southern Hemisphere, we have long accepted that the seasons will be out of whack, but with this event, for your Kiwi fans, day is night and night is day. Is there some way you would at least coordinate the game to our time zones?

Mini Events is a great idea. I remember there used to be a time where they would release all of a category of dragons - perhaps all Crystalline & Gemstone or all Winter Dragons. It meant you didn't have to wait until BEB to try for these dragons, plus there were fewer dragons as possible fails. BEB is a bit of a nightmare now with so many dragons and Aurora liking to check in every other breed.

I thought maybe a two week mini BEB would be easy for Deca to do, and a nice change since BEB is always coupled with an event. But I like your idea of returning collections!
One of the Game Reps, CalliAlli, mentioned the Shimmering Solstice mini event, which allowed Gemstone and Crystalline dragons to be bred. Brilliant! Now I can envision a new series of Deca mini events that break breeding rules. I think players would really appreciate a Galaxy event that allowed them to breed their Galaxy dragons in the Rift, so they don’t have to rely on mystery eggs to obtain the entire traited collection. There are so many ideas from breeding to decorations to themes that Deca could evolve mini events from — my head is bursting.

1) I don't like this auto-move thing If I wipe over the screen of my device to pan the park it often takes a habitat or decoration in move-mode. This is happening the more probable the more the park is lagging. This is really annoying because then the game hasn't noticed the last taps and on top I have to press the button cancel before I can do anything else. (for example I'm collecting in the rift, the display is lagging. Instead of collecting 20 habitats which I tapped on,the game only collects from 7 habitats because after the seventh it took a rift habitat to move it. So I have to press cancel and collect again from the last 13 habitats I tapped on before) Could you please disable this feature or make it a choice in the options menue. I don't care if I have to press explicitly on move to get something moved.
2) The order in a dragon choice menue is not logical when ordered descending.
When ordered ascending the dragons are shown ordered by level and then by name. not available dragons are shown faded and at the end of the choice Dragon level 2 actice Dragon level 5 actice Dragon level 1 inactive Dragon level 3 inactive
When the order is descending it looks like this Dragon level 3 inactive Dragon level 1 inactive Dragon level 5 active Dragon level 2 active This is the exact reversion but not logic.
It would be better to place the inactive dragons at the bottom of this list too: Dragon level 5 active Dragon level 2 active Dragon level 3 inactive Dragon level 1 inactive

You need to hold down in order to move an island, it's not quite automatic. You very likey just have a very high sensitivity selected on your device. Mine is quite low and that has never happened before.
I'm also quite confused about your dragon listings, that's not how mine are filtered.
I looked at the Dragon Track to understand your complaint better. Though, it doesn't really make sense for rift/dragons on missions to be shown at all. Maybe they could just remove them?

I start plotting by day one and finish mid to 2/3 through the event with final touches. Why do you only move them when the event is over? How do you have the patience, lol.
And I don't understand the second part contextually. Do you mean you want more time to breed dragons from the past event, or non-event specific ones like liberty?
There is currently more than enough time unless you get really unlucky. And I have gotten very unlucky. But DV is a chance based game, there will never be a fix that gets you every dragon.

To clarify since that wasn't worded well, "island" should be replaced with rift island or just habitat like above. But I can't edit the original post.
