I think there should be some realistic pricing on market dragons please. The “deals” today are not likely to generate much revenue for you when a pack of seven virtual dragons will cost you $200 in real life money which is almost $30 per dragon and the Suncrest Soiree offer is marked half off so the full price “deal” would cost a person $400 for 7 dragons. Who pays $60 for an online dragon? Not likely many...

How could this game be changed up, to minimise the plethora of stashed dragons? More islands (pleeze) sure, but creatively, any ideas anyone?

I like the idea of merging two dragons a lot to make a new one but there is a game that already does that called Merge Dragons, of course. Although the dragon aren’t very good. I’m sure DECA could come up with a way cooler way to do this.
There could also be another dimension for a different park like how the Rift is different from the vale. It would be another new park we can get habitats for and it’s connected to the vale and rift and we can put vale and Rift dragons in it. It could be simple no breeding caves it’s just used to decorate and keep dragons. That would get your dragons out so you can display them all.
I wonder if someone could petition DECA to lower the cooldown on Kairos and Gaia to 3 days and 23 hours, instead of 4 days. I hate the slow drift from my collection times as I wait that 1-2 seconds from each 4 day reset.
Here’s a thought. Can we get more crystalline habitats? The gemstone habitats are basically unlimited, we can buy as many as we want with gems but there are only four crystalline and cannot buy any others. Or better yet, do like an omnitat for gem dragons, or a crystalline island similar to the gemstone island with expansion capabilities. Could we also get some new gem giving dragons? I don’t remember when we had a new gem dragon come to the vale.

I'm not really fond of the idea of merging dragons, simply because I only breed the ones I want and do not collect multiples, twins or any of that. I'm not the kind of person who tries to collect every dragon, and if I had to have extras and fuse them, that would be like adding another layer of complexity to the growing number of requirements we already have i.e. growing special treats, collecting enhancements and decorations, etc.
If anything, I'd like a simpler approach, one that doesn't require so many extras just to get a new dragon. I imagine having to merge dragons would be a pain, after you spend many days trying and dealing with fails, only to realize you need another of the same kind in order to get a new dragon.
Sometimes I have to breed dragons just to have the right ones for locked combos. I'm missing quite a few by choice because I don't want them. So for me, personally, the merging twins scenario would be rather troublesome and tedious.

Yeah, your ‘only breeding the ones I like’ is what I’m having fun doing in my baby park! It feels really deliciously freeing to just decide on whether I want this or that dragon 😄

Dear DECA,
First, let me thank you for taking over Dragonvale.
Overall, I think you are doing a good job for us but I do have a criticism: At the end of this last Event you started up a Bring em Back, good move. But then you immediately introduced a new, Limited Dragon, the Gryphus, not so good move. You see, by introducing a new and Limited Dragon, you force DV players resources, efforts and attention away from getting Dragons during the BeB in order to concentrate on getting this new, Limited Dragon. If you HAD TO introduce a new Dragon during the BeB, it should at least not have been a Limited one.

Okay, here's a suggestion.
How about introducing gender differences in the dragons? By that I mean introducing male and female dragons, and as they level up, the females will change color and appearance making them look different from the males. This can be done with the males too so they each have a different appearance like animals in the wild.
A good example would be Nidoran in the Pokémon games.
This would allow players to have dragons with different "forms" without requiring the collection of decorations and enhancements. It would also be nice for players who collect one of every stage i.e. baby, juvenile and adult all in one habitat. They could have babies, juveniles and adults with different appearances depending on gender.
Think of the possibilities. A male feathered dragon could have more extravagant plumage to attract a mate, or a female dragon could have a pouch to carry her young. Many things could be done with this, giving us a bigger variety of dragons without all the hassle of gathering decorations or growing specific treats in a certain pattern. Could be popular amongst the collectors in the group.
Of course not every dragon is going to have differences in appearance based on gender. There are already hundreds of dragons in the game, and that would be way too much for the developers to change all of them. But every now and then a special set of dragons could come along with certain variations. And I think it would be a fun surprise, because you wouldn't know which one you're getting when you breed for one of these new male/female dragons.

But only 1 egg design. I don’t want to be doubling up on the pedestals. And the not knowing the gender until it is hatched adds that sense of mystery we haven’t had since firefly and scorch had the same egg design.

Wow, so many possibilities with this idea. Like only being able to breed a new dragon with the male or female of different dragons. 🤯🤗🤗

I agree. I missed all those dragons with all the items needed to transform them. Now I’ve spent $5 here and $10 there, but these prices are ridiculously high.
And what about the gemstone habitat? 600 gems?!? Really!! When I first started, the gemstone habitat was 200. I figured then it would take almost 2 years to recoup the capital and then provide much needed income. My 10 habitats were a good investment since I’ve been playing for 7ish years. But now at 600, it will take a new player 5.8 years to break even. Not cool.
Deca, please increase the dragon limit for gemstone habitats from 2 to 5 dragons. ☺️

Something else I just thought of is the introduction of a special family habitat, capable of holding all six dragons from baby to adult. This would be like the specific Monolith and Snowflake habitats. Although it might be better if this family habitat was optional, since the male/female dragons would still have normal elements and could be placed in regular habitats.
The family habitat could be like a new reward habitat. Heck, they could even turn this into an event if they wanted to, with family habitats being offered as a prize for event currency.
I'm imagining all of this now. A new category of Family dragons, complete with their own habitats and unique design. They would also have regular elements listed alongside their family element, like when you see dragons that have Surface or Ornamental alongside elements like fire and water.
Imagine how cute it would be, having a mommy and daddy with all the little babies bouncing around. Bonus points if they interact with each other like Crystalline dragons i.e. rival males could fight each other and the females could pick up and cuddle their babies.

Pokémon! It’s always good to get inspiration from Pokémon. DECA would probably want to find a way to make it their own tho. This is kind of like the Evolve dragons but with Pokémon it’s a lot more involved. Nidoran evolves into Nidorion at level 16 then evolves into Nidoking with the Moon Stone and can breed to produce male or female Nidoran IIRC. If DECA did male and female versions I’d want to collect both it wouldn’t cut back on the number of dragons for me lol. But this could help players who don’t want so many dragons they wouldn’t have to evolve if it doesn’t count in the dragonarium but I have a feeling DECA would make them count.
I really want to have more land not just 1-2 islands a year. A lot more so we can decorate more.

Super cute idea! The event could start with Mother’s Day and go till Father’s Day 🥰

I am hoping for a special mode for Ts'aishen that does not requiere the 1,000 points. Maybe without the bonus? With 250+ habitats it gets very boring to collect currency from all of them. In addition, I play on an iPhone 7 and the game always crashes at least once while I am collecting from the habitats.

Ooo I like that idea; kinda like turning your horses out to pasture 😄 that would def interest me, and I’d happily spend on decos and islands for the ‘display only’ realm !
Count me in on the idea of having a “display only” realm. Decorating my park is what drew me to the game to start with & is still my favorite park of the game. As the game has gotten more complex, I find it more frustrating & I already have enough frustration in my RL. In fact as I think about it, I Ike the idea more & more.

Me too! I am actually so thankful for this break that I can take time to do some cleaning up. I don’t like to crowd everything on an island, so I don’t have my max number of habitats. The thing is, once I have decorated an island, they come up with new dragons, and I have to think of how to accommodate them, which ended up having to redecorate again. Yes, I have a little OCD. 😬 So yes, I vote for a “display realm”!
Post by DragonMoonX on Sept 6, 2020 14:03:47 GMT -6
One question, though.
If we had a "display realm", would it cause any problems with the game? In others words, would the game crash and have trouble loading on older devices because of the extra area where we display our dragons?
I'm concerned about this type of thing, because when they added the rift I was no longer able to play DragonVale on my old tablet. The game repeatedly crashed and became unplayable, to the point where I had to buy a new tablet in order to continue playing. And I'm afraid this might happen again if they add another area.
Of course, I don't even use the rift so I probably wouldn't use the display area either. All these years of playing DragonVale and I don't think I even have 350 dragons. 😅

Completely agree with this! Had to do more than just give it a thumbs up.

I agree with @grandpakenney on this one. I have a ton of Rift dragons that I would like to breed, but had to spend the first week of BEB trying to get Gryphus, and didn’t get it. If you want us to be able to take advantage of the BEB, it would be better if we were allowed to focus on that. By the way, Backflip had a habit of doing this same thing, so it’s not unexpected. It would just be nice if you could do it differently.
I should have thanked you first, as grandpakenny did. I’ve been playing DV since the very beginning, and it’s amazing that you came to the rescue and continue to create new content. We are all so grateful!
