Thank you for the break, the expansion event, the level increase and island! And most of all - thanks for doing Dragons Week outside of an event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new Sandstorm weather effect is neat, however it effects some people's visibility. Just like the issue with the Glare effect, could the intensity be toned down?

Toning it down would be great. Removing it from being this event's (and future events') default weather would also probably be important. Even if they toned it down, it likely would still cause issues for people. If they toned it down enough so that it wouldn't cause issues, it would get to the point where it's nothing like a sandstorm and is effectively a 'no weather' option.
It's the same issue as with Glare - people who can't play the game because of this weather theme should not be forced to buy the weather station to get rid of it.
Players everywhere do not like the new Sandstorm weather. While it’s a clever idea and matches the event theme, a sandstorm makes it more difficult to play the game.
The reps have requested the removal of Sandstorm on Double Days. If it’s not removed, then we’ve asked the team to greatly reduce the effect.
In the meantime, if you do not like Sandstorm, use the Weather Station to change it to something more friendly. Do not change it to None. The None setting is always overridden by the event’s weather, so every time you open the game or switch parks, Sandstorm will persist.
If you do not have the Weather Station, it is available in the event market. I know that's not helpful if you cannot afford to purchase it now. Hopefully, Deca will remove or minimise the sandstorm when they return on Monday.

First, I agree with removing the sandstorm effect on double days, since there obviously are a lot of people affected by it and not able to play the game effectively.
At the same time, I want to thank Deca for creating this weather effect. It fits the Dunes theme so very well. Personally, I rather enjoy this weather theme. I am not sure if it has been toned down already when I started the game 3 hours after reset this morning, but it did not affect my playing the game at all (as compared to the glare theme). I played in all modes, color, b/w, and edit path. They were all fine for me. 😀

Deca hasn’t worked on Sandstorm yet. They probably won’t get to it until Monday at the earliest. The scribble mark is very distracting. It looks like something is on your device screen. I asked them to remove it because sandstorms don’t have scribbles or lines. I do love the idea of a sandstorm, and it matches the event theme brilliantly. But sandstorms are notorious for bad visibility, so it doesn’t really work in a mobile game, unless it’s a light dusting.

I agree that the scribble mark is very distracting - I thought there was something wrong with my iPad when I first saw it!
But like ladyj I appreciate that Deca are creating new weather effects and trying something new. The sandstorm is very appropriate for the Dunes theme, but needs to be toned down a bit. 😊
Perhaps we can have falling sandcastles to complement Saharus? ⏳
After a bit of thought earlier, I really think that Ts'aishen needs an overhaul. The decrease in essence from 1000 to 750 is great and all, yet is still quite expensive and hinders players from powering up the Legendary Vault Dragon.
Due to the gimmick that is using essence in order to activiate Ts'aishen's power, the dragon gets a bad reputation. Especially because the point of the dragon is to be able to collect from all habitats if you are short on time, which makes it easier on players who have a busy schedule.
In Dragon City, there is a 'legendary' dragon named Speedy & Greedy who does the exact same thing. The difference? It has a cooldown time of four hours, making it extremely easy to collect everything at once.
And so, without further ado, I present my idea for:
~ TS'AISHEN OVERHAUL ~
One of, if not the biggest complaint about Ts'aishen is how his ability requires a fair number of Abundant Essences to use. Despite the drop from 1,000 to 750 needed to activate the dragon's power, it still takes a few days to gather enough essence to use Ts'aishen. This can be annoying especially to players who have a busy schedule and can only play DragonVale for a few minutes at a time.
On top of this, the price to activate Ts'aishen is enough to significantly slow, or even halt, the progression of powering up the legendary dragon. As a result, very few players have Ts'aishen at his maximum level, even after all these years. I am included, as the price of activating his power limits the amount of essence I can gain.
And so, to make the dragon more user-friendly to all players, there should be a cooldown rather than a price. Here's my idea:
Once per day, the player is able to use Ts'aishen's power for free.
Ts'aishen is only capable of doing one free collection per day, as it takes most of his energy to use his power. As a result, Abundant Essence will be required in order to activate the power more than once in a day. Each further use will require more Abundant Essence to activate Ts'aishen's power, so make sure to use his power wisely!
If the daily free power has already been used, the starting price for the next activation would be 500 Abundant Essences. Any further activations of Ts'aishen's power would cost an increased 250 Abundant Essences. For example:
1st activation: Free 2nd Activation: 500 Abundant Essences 3rd Activation: 750 Abundant Essences 4th Activation: 1000 Abundant Essences 5th Activation: 1,250 Abundant Essences and so on.
At the daily reset, Ts'aishen's power is replenished, and is able to use his free activation. The price needed for further activations is also reset back to 500.
If Ts'aishen is at his maximum level, he will be capable of doing up to two free power activations per day, with the cost resetting once every 12 hours.
Implementing a system like this would allow busier players to collect everything at once without needing to use much of their precious time,as well as allowing players to power up Ts'aishen more easily.
It would also still have a way to use Abundant Essence to activate the dragon's power, although in a fairer way. I just do not know how difficult it would be to implement a feature like this.
The Original One is in all things. The Original One is nowhere at all. From all creations, over all creations, does Arceus watch over all.

The imbalance with Ts'aishen, compared to the other Legendary dragons (or really anything else in the game) is so enormous that I believe fixing the problem will require reworking various aspects of the feature.
I like your activation payment schedule for using Ts'aishen. Even if Ts'aishen is only available for free every fourth day, like Kairos and Gaia, it'd still be miles better than what we have today.
The glaring problem with Ts'aishen is the ridiculously long time it takes to level him up. Backflip completely messed up the maths, which is unusual for them, but it was a gigantic blunder that players are still enduring years later. The amount of Abundant Essence we obtain from Ts'aishen’s free chest and the ad chest should be 250-1000. Right now, it’s 20-250 (or 1 measly gem, which is by far the worst prize). Plus, the chests are weighted differently. It’s rare to receive a chest with 200+ Essence, but common to receive a chest with 20-something. There should be an equal chance of receiving any chest with 250-1000 Essence.
We should also be able to receive Abundant Essence from the Dragon Track and Quests until Ts'aishen is at max level. And it's a little odd that Ts'aishen has a maximum level of 25, while Kairos and Gaia, who are clearly more beneficial for players, are complete at 20. But there's nothing that can be done about that now unless Kairos and Gaia are given new levels.

I would not mind how long it took to rework the features associated with Ts'aishen. If it meant an improvement, or overhaul, that puts the dragon in for the better, I would actually be inclined to wait the while.
Dragon Draw was similar - it probably took a long time for DECA to improve the feature - perhaps years - after the initial release and complaints, although I would say that waiting for that overhaul was well worth it.
I do think, however, that the possibility of getting Essence from quests/races, as well as fixing the imbalancing on the free daily chest, would be much simpler than doing an overhaul.
Even before the wizarding school event, I thought it would be nice for the wizzlings to collect DC. They could take a percentage, for building a school, on a new island, or some such. No limitations, just a taken percentage. Anytime I would want. I just don't want the chests hovering over the habitats. I also am not in need of more DC. So that would be more useful for long-term players.

That's certainly an interesting idea, but in my opinion it would definitely have to be a choice and you can turn it on or off as you please. Earlier game, or later game if you want more islands and haven't got DC farms, it wouldn't be fair to lose DC.
It could also be cool if there was a building associated with it, and very occasionally the wizards leave a gift as thanks for the DC? For example usually a lot of treats or maybe some EC (it could also give some Abundant Essence since it's related to DC and we need more ways of getting Abundant Essence - which I'm now realising is very ironic), but possibly also an occasional double XP boost/couple of gems/maybe even very rarely a random dragon egg that follows the EoM structure.
That would give more of an incentive to use it - I'd end up using it in my small parks if that was the case, since I have billions of DC stored up (from buying and selling the best EC-to-DC items) that I'm not going to use since I don't develop the park. But I personally would probably never use it if there wasn't something in it for me (mwahahaha).
So, I also thought this was just Hidden Bolt (sorry for blaming you Whitbee 😭), and I was wondering whether it's possible to be fixed (and if so whether DECA would consider it)?
I’ve move this to Bugs and Glitches.

I don’t know if this has been discussed before. I think the automatic choice selection for the Last Day Reward should be coded to preferentially choose a dragon the person doesn’t have yet. It’s bad enough realizing you forgot, but it’s a real kick in the teeth to get a twin of some super common dragon (especially when you already have it traited too) when you’re entirely missing half a dozen from the list. I don’t think it would be too hard to implement since that’s how the coding for all the Daily Gifts already works. I hope Deca considers it. Every event there are always some people who forget or had no time to claim and this would help them out, plus make them feel a little less crummy about it. Thanks for listening.
Hello played DragonVale for 5+ years I have suggestions!
I personally enjoy this game I would just like to do more while I'm playing it!
• Rotate items/decorations 360 degrees.
• Ability too move/ swap islands.
• Colored paths (same colors as cubes).
• A second air ship on the empty doc of rift island that could give you a daily gift (gems, cash, food, cap, decorations, dragons) once the dragon completes the request.
• 2/3 more gemstone islands.
• daily/ weekly objectives that give you a surprise.

I was just thinking about daily/weekly tasks last night while playing another game 😆 I think it'd be more fun and encourage players to log in daily more.

Hello Glazer, thank you for your terrific ideas! Some of these have been requested before, so I've replied to each suggestion.
Rotate items/decorations 360 degrees
Decorations and buildings cannot be rotated, since they’re 2D. Backflip tried to mirror/flip decos, but the shadows are baked into the assets, and Backflip was not consistent with the shading, so it looked jarring. As a result, they decided against it.
Ability to move/swap islands
This has been requested many times throughout Backflip’s and Deca’s ownership. It would be a lot of work for Deca to implement, and it wouldn’t be used daily by every player, so the chances of it being added are low. But Deca is aware that many players have recommended the ability to move and swap islands.
Colored paths (same colors as cubes)
If Deca believes players will purchase coloured paths, they may consider some solid colours.
A second air ship on the empty doc of rift island that could give you a daily gift (gems, cash, food, cap, decorations, dragons) once the dragon completes the request
The airship isn’t used by many players. Usually, newer players find it helpful, but mid-level and endgamers tend to grow out of the airship as the resources it provides are not sufficient. But perhaps Deca could find another use for a second airship that would attract these players and encourage in-app purchases.
2/3 more gemstone islands
There was a fairly recent increase to the Gemstone habitat cap. As far as the islands, there isn’t a lot of space to place them, and since the islands hold many Gemstone dragons, Deca would need to evaluate the gem economy. They have recently declined additional Crystalline habitats, so unfortunately, it seems unlikely that they will add more Gemstone islands.
Daily/weekly objectives that give you a surprise
This is an interesting concept! If it's defined more, Deca could consider it.
More "in game" games like the dragon track
If you have any mini-games you’d like to recommend, I can pass it on to Deca. I’m not sure if they’ll be able to add it. It would likely depend on the game's complexity, and if it is advantageous for Deca (helps to generate revenue) and the players (a feature that many players desire).
Thank you again for your requests, and WELCOME TO THE FORUM! 🎉

I would enjoy seeing the Poll Plaza being used again for various queries. The last time Poll Plaza was active was over two years ago, back in 2021. Backflip used to do biweeky quizzes over random subjects, to keep the building in use.
But you know what also is a query? Rate a dragon! The rate a dragon threads have been going on since the last time Poll Plaza was used, and although the responses are great from the community, there aren't enough players in the Forum to truly tell how much the community likes a dragon.
So I've got a great idea: Bring Rate A Dragon to the Poll Plaza! Not only would this bring Poll Plaza back to life, but it would also allow DECA to receive more insight to how players enjoy their designs.
To keep it simple, the only question which would be polled would be: How much do you like the _______ Dragon? (1 = Not at all; 5=Love it!). The poll question could be posted once per week, on the same day the RAD threads are posted here on the Forum. Players would then have a week to awnser the question themselves.
At the end of the event, a similar question could be posted in the Poll Plaza: Which of the [name of event]'s dragons did you like the best? (select up to three).
Doing this would give DECA a much better insight on dragon design quality, and what players prefer, since using the Poll Plaza is sure to attract much, much more responses.

So... Please bring it back!
I mean, it’d make my life easier and the whole RAD team’s lives easier, if we didn’t have to do RAD anymore.
Not sure if Deca would want the extra work though. Deca did use the Poll Plaza in their early years for weekly quizzes. We used to post the answers on the event thread. It was similar to what Backflip did. But they stopped a while ago. It likely was too much work coming up with the riddles.
There's a lot of effort and outreach for RAD every week in the FB communities and Discord. But it's very difficult to get people to post their feedback. There needs to be an incentive, and we don't have anything to offer except the awards, which really only has value to members.

I imagine there are quite a few Reddit users who would like to share their feedback. I did consider asking whether we should post about the RAD threads there last event, but forgot to.
There are often feedback posts posted on Reddit (just general feedback rather than about dragons, although sometimes it is about dragons), and in general it looks like most of the subreddit's users aren't aware of the forum's existence, so advertising the RAD threads on the subreddit could also just bring people to the forum generally.
