Koalas visited last night and I got Clairvoyant (in coop now) using Elder Ghostly cold and they swung by again this morning and I got Woodvine using Elder Ghostly Plant. Koala all. 🐨
How did I not know that Ghostly Plant/Fire/Earth could be Elder? Was it like that from the gitgo? Had all my Ghostlies at Level 20 without even realizing I could upgrade those three. No wonder I had zero luck using them whilst breeding!
Yes, love using the ghostly elders. They have produced many a new dragon for me. 😊 Oh and your Woodvine was the proud parent. Sadly, it wasn’t a twin for you. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hedera has to evolve from Mono 3. No single parent cloning.
Which decos do we need tho. The evolve button is gray on my monolith dragon so I must be missing some or maybe it's the wrong mono dragon. I'll check agsin.

You’ll need 10 Ivy Leaves to evolve Monolith 3 (the purple Monolith) into Hedera. So worth it though — Hedera is guaranteed to upgrade any garden!

that was really quick lol! Hedera does look really good as an adult. I'm missing an Ivy so that's why it won't evolve but at least I got the right monolith!

Gues I spoke too soon...got a ‘stretchy’ screen after coming back from watching a Tolzar video, then, after I watched another Tolzar video, it went away.
I've found that not every extra turn at guess the egg yields chests. At least twice, I've spent the five gems and correctly guessed the egg, but only received 20 eggs as the reward.
Not complaining, but just pointing out that this CAN happen.

There's a time limit for the answer too I don't know exactly how much seconds you have, but if it takes you too long to answer you'll not get chests.
Despite guessing the right egg in time and getting 3 chests it can also happen that you are rewarded only cash or food in all three chests. sigh It seems to me that this happens increasingly often,as you amass more and more of the needed items.

This morning I only needed one Shell to evolve Stoneshell into Minchi. Decided to take a chance and plopped down some Gems on Name That Egg. SUCCESS! Minchi currently blue hearted as I try for Clairvoyant with those sharing it in the CoOp. Would the KOALAS stick around, I wondered? Needed one Ivy Leaf, three Roses, and four Wooden Idols to complete those collections so I took a chance, bought one Spring Chest and nabbed... the one Ivy Leaf I needed! One Evolved Hedera waiting in the lineup to share after Minchi!

Yes, this is the frustrating, gem-draining part of the event. If you pay 5 gems for an additional mini-game play, you’re guaranteed a Golden Chest. However, there’s no guarantee you’ll win the Golden Chest (still have to name the egg correctly or drop the ball in the proper spot) and there’s no guarantee you’ll receive an evolve decoration in the subsequent three gold chests. Similar to the previous evolve events, there’s a greater chance of receiving treats and DC than decorations. And some evolve decorations are more rare than others, so after a little while you’ll start accumulating a lot of duplicates.
The Spring Chest in the event store (and from the event calendar) is the only chest that will guarantee an unowned decoration.

Ok, so now we have 5 Dragons to Evolve, right? Which means we have to get 50 unique Evolve Decorations, right? I’ve spent around 800 Gems getting 20 unique Evolve Decorations. At this time, I must 🍷. In the previous Event where Evolve Decorations were used, it took me a little over 3 Dragon Drops to hit a Chest and I don’t remember not getting a Decoration when I DID hit a Chest, but I’m old so my memory is sometimes faulty 🥴. In this Event, it’s taking me over 5 Drops to get a Chest AND I’m only getting a Decoration on every 3rd successful Drop. I once hit a Chest and it gave me a pair of Duplicates for one I already had! And of course, the more unique Decorations you DO get, the greater the odds of receiving Duplicates!
They have made Dragon Drop harder AND reduced the odds of getting a Decoration when you finally DO hit a Chest. I’m guessing this Event was already set up by BFS/HAS.

As far as I know the event has 6 new dragons. Of which 4 are evolution dragons so, no, there is no fifth decoration to collect. we have Ivy Leaf which evolves Monolith 3 to Hedera Wooden Idol which evolves Monolith 4 to Glyph Shell which evolves Stoneshell to Minchi and Roses which will evolve Monolith 6 into a Pixie dragon that will be available later in the event
Clairvoyent and Woodvine are no evolution dragons

grandpakenny, I do Name the Egg and almost always get it right. Dragon Drop and The Wheel are the most difficult for me to win a chest. I got impatient and used gems on Name the Egg and now have all of the decorations.

Why am I collecting decorations to evolve a dragon when I can just buy the evolved dragon and bypass the decorations altogether? Is it because there is no way of getting a rift version if I do that? Except to get very lucky in the runic breeding cave then use 2 claims if I don't already have a twin version? That must be it. I've forgotten. Evolving coal dragons is just a distant memory.
I guess I'll just keep trying for the decorations because historically the runic breeding cave hasn't been terribly cooperative for me.

Well, the decorations do show up as unowned, and will gnaw at your sense of completion unless you get them

There are several reasons why players prefer to collect all of the evolve decorations:
1. They’re completionists and having the Decorations section of their Dragonarium grey instead of gold is problematic (as CesspitX pointed out). 2. They want the option to evolve more dragons after the event. 3. They want to obtain the twin and/or Rift versions of the new evolve dragons either now or in the future.
If a player wants a Rift version of a new evolve dragon, breeding it in the Runic Caves will be a pricey route because both parents must be the target evolve dragon. So they’ll either need all the decorations to evolve two dragons, or they’ll need to buy two of the same evolve dragon from the event market.
The most efficient way to obtain a Rift version of a new evolve dragon, is to breed the base dragon in the Rift, collect all 10 of the evolve decorations, then evolve the base dragon. Or, if you already own a twin version of the base dragon, breed the base dragon in the Runic Caves, claim the Rift-twin base dragon, then evolve it and complete not only the goal of obtaining the new evolve dragon, but also fulfil the dragon’s twin and Rift requirements in the Dragonarium. (If the player doesn’t have a twin base dragon, they’ll need to claim the twin first, then they can claim the Rift-twin version.)
Buying the evolve dragons from the event market does have its merits by saving a lot of gems from the mini-games. But if you ever want to evolve a dragon later or the completionist in you starts to emerge, it will likely cost even more gems to buy the decorations when they return to the Market. They’re typically sold as a bundle and not individually, so not only are they expensive, but you’ll be purchasing duplicates you already acquired from the event.

I’m on Team Name-That-Dragon/Name-That-Egg. Long ago, I played Dragon Drop. But as singleimage said, now the ball wildly bounces everywhere (except where you need it to) and takes forever to finally land. It’s really aggravating, and it’s not very fun. But Name That Dragon and Name That Egg are fun (to me). I like testing my DV knowledge; it’s like Jeopardy for dragons. It’s also really fast. I can complete all 5 Name That Dragon/Egg in 20 seconds, whereas it takes 20 seconds for that bouncy ball to stop leaping around like a drunk rabbit and finally drop (in the wrong place).

These decorations are actually kind of nice. I don't like having to collect them in order to evolve dragons, or the evolution process in general, but the roses and ivy are pretty. And I wanted a bigger variety of plants and flowers anyway. So now I'm going to have a look around my islands and see how I can use these to beautify my park.

Based on what you said, you are getting chests far more often than I am. I have two parks. I believe I have gotten a total of three chests in each park. It might have been 4. I have gotten a total of 2 decorations in each park. Like adlerist, I am on the ‘name that dragon’ team. It is a fun challenge for me rather than the slow annoyance of the dragon drop. It is especially challenging since I no longer know all the dragons. I like seeing how many dragons I can recognize/figure out. I manage to get it right most of the time. I might have missed one chest by getting it wrong, but that is still a maximum of five chests that have shown up since the event began, and yes I play it twice a day, and no I haven’t spent any gems for extra plays. My stockpile of gems isn’t super big, and I need to buy some more giant habitats and speed up breeds, so I won’t let myself use my gems for extra plays right now.

I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

Check my math; if I collect 2,000 eggs a day for 30 days, I can buy all the decorations.
My plan is to collect all decorations and evolve a rift base dragon to the new one. I am hoping that cloning the new ones in co-op - with two of the same dragons - will be as easy as cloning Karroot, Aubergine etc were.
If I have excess eggs, I will buy Woodvine & Clairvoyant, if I haven't managed to breed them, and evolve non-rifted versions of the new dragons.
