Ok, so now we have 5 Dragons to Evolve, right? Which means we have to get 50 unique Evolve Decorations, right? I’ve spent around 800 Gems getting 20 unique Evolve Decorations. At this time, I must 🍷. In the previous Event where Evolve Decorations were used, it took me a little over 3 Dragon Drops to hit a Chest and I don’t remember not getting a Decoration when I DID hit a Chest, but I’m old so my memory is sometimes faulty 🥴. In this Event, it’s taking me over 5 Drops to get a Chest AND I’m only getting a Decoration on every 3rd successful Drop. I once hit a Chest and it gave me a pair of Duplicates for one I already had! And of course, the more unique Decorations you DO get, the greater the odds of receiving Duplicates!
They have made Dragon Drop harder AND reduced the odds of getting a Decoration when you finally DO hit a Chest. I’m guessing this Event was already set up by BFS/HAS.
grandpakenny, I do Name the Egg and almost always get it right. Dragon Drop and The Wheel are the most difficult for me to win a chest. I got impatient and used gems on Name the Egg and now have all of the decorations.
All the Decorations!? Already!? That’s fantastic! I envy you. Unfortunately for me, I’ve never paid a lot of attention to what the Dragons or Eggs looked. I could probably identify a Rainbow or Panlong but that’s about it...my fault... I think I have enough Gems + Eggs to get them all but with Dragon Drop, it’s frustrating and painful. 🍷🍷🍷

As far as I know the event has 6 new dragons. Of which 4 are evolution dragons so, no, there is no fifth decoration to collect. we have Ivy Leaf which evolves Monolith 3 to Hedera Wooden Idol which evolves Monolith 4 to Glyph Shell which evolves Stoneshell to Minchi and Roses which will evolve a dragon into a dragon that will be available later in the event
Clairvoyent and Woodvine are no evolution dragons

Why am I collecting decorations to evolve a dragon when I can just buy the evolved dragon and bypass the decorations altogether? Is it because there is no way of getting a rift version if I do that? Except to get very lucky in the runic breeding cave then use 2 claims if I don't already have a twin version? That must be it. I've forgotten. Evolving coal dragons is just a distant memory.
I guess I'll just keep trying for the decorations because historically the runic breeding cave hasn't been terribly cooperative for me.

I decided to burn some gems and here is the progress so far: 355 Gems = 71 plays, 70 wins, 1 loss - all done using Name that Egg (which I find MUCH easier than Name that Dragon)
I still don't have 10 of any set, but should have enough eggs to buy chests to get the ones I still need and still have enough to get the rest of the dragons (including Pixie when it is available).
I'm not 100% sure I can still evolve MonoC to Hedera using eggs after it leaves the market, so I might need to buy up some chests before that point.
Extra notes: On at least one occasion I still got an item reward even though the timer was down to 1 second (not as familiar with the new golden hybrids nor rift eggs), and there seems to be no better chance of items if you get the correct answer quickly (I had a run of 6 nothings even with a right guess at 4.5+ seconds left on the clock).

Speaking of Chrysalis, I have been attempting some of them in the RIft. I realize that the magic eggs earned from some dragons does not seem right. I am attempting for Rhinotorch at the moment with fails of Marbletail and Swallowtail. Looking at the breed times, I should be getting 20 magic eggs when I sell those fails. But instead I am getting 7. The same for Flickerflame; instead of 14 eggs, I got 4.
Anyone else experiencing this...?
I found this post very intriguing and over the last couple days I’ve been looking closely at the amount of Magic Eggs earned in the Rift.
For Marbletail and Swallowtail, they may not be giving the appropriate amount of Magic Eggs because they’re currently for sale in the event market for eggs. Perhaps there’s some confusion with egg conversion and egg transaction (?).
Flickerflame is an interesting problem. I bred Flickerflame several times in the Rift to check its egg earnings and was also shortchanged. After selling it, I collected 4 Magic Eggs (same as you) on regular days and 8 on double days. I tried hatching it first, but still received the same discounted amount.
Since Flickerflame was recently added to the game, I thought maybe this could be an issue with newbies, but Aquacorn, Shockproof, Whirlwind, Poshwing, Void, and Daylily all provided their correct Magic Egg amounts. Interestingly, in the Vale, Flickerflame does earn its full value in eggs. So the glitch is isolated to the Rift and only affects specific dragons. Outside of Flickerflame, all the other dragons I’ve bred in the Rift, from regular hybrids to epics, are paying out their correct amounts.
This was a fascinating puzzle to delve into. Thanks so much for posting it, unknownlance — you have a terrific eye for detail!

Excellent analysis! 👍. Only 41% of the time, when you got it right, and you almost always did, you didn’t get a Decoration. That’s close to my figure of 1:3 for Dragon Drop but my figure was a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) yours was exact. Good job.

I am breeding in the rift for a dittoglide. I have been getting a lot of lacewing. I decided to make one a rift pedestal to keep. It sells for 105 eggs. The dragon sells for D$. Here’s a way to make extra eggs
On mine the buy another is in eggs, but it still sells for dragoncash. I don’t think it works to make extra eggs.

CesspitX, you bring up an interesting topic and concern. During previous events with evolve dragons in the limited tier of the event market, when the evolve dragon departed it could no longer be purchased with event currency; however, it could still be evolved with event currency until the end of the event. But you’re right, there’s no guarantee Deca retained this, and with Hedera in the limited section players will have to decide if they’re willing to take a chance and evolve later, or acquire all the Ivy Leaves, or just buy Hedera from the market. This could be quite a dilemma for some. I’ll email Deca and ask if Hedera (and Pixie) will be available to evolve with Magic Eggs after they expire. Thank you for noticing this!

I was wondering which cave best to activate. Just to be sure that it is not the cave that we get automatically on a triple magic day. But we are not expecting triple days, aren't we ? At least there's nothing about triples in the help section
Oh and I was sondering when to use the stone. Normally I would use it when a new limited dragon gets available, but the limiteds in this event all seem to be evolution dragons for which you can't breed. Any thoughts about that ?

Any Runic Breeding Cave that hasn’t been activated yet will do. I looked at all the Runic Caves at the start of the event and there aren’t any dedicated to Triple Day, so I figured there wouldn’t be any, and when Deca’s event page didn’t mention Triple Day that confirmed it for me. But I suppose they could throw a curve ball. I much prefer having a Runestone over a couple Triple Days, so I’m not going to miss triples at all.
I always activate Runic Caves on the day of or within 1-2 days of deploying Kairos. This way I can get in two rounds of Kairos while the cave is still active. I’ll also put long breeds in the Runic Caves just before Kairos (if there’s a couple short breeding fails I use gems to speed them up).

PSA: after Hedera leaves the Limited tier of the event market on 1 May, players will still be able to evolve Hedera for 1,000 Magic Eggs during the event.
Deca replied to my questions today. Pixie (not released yet) will also be evolve-able with Magic Eggs after it expires from the Limited tier. And when the event concludes, players can evolve the Monolith dragons for 100 gems like the rest of the evolve dragons.

I’ve now played Dragon Drop enough to have collected 25 unique decorations. This morning, I played it 20 times and hit the Chest (amazingly!) 9 times! Of those 9 x, I got 7 Decorations! But 6 were Duplicates. Oh well, at least I got E$300 for the Dups. At 62.5% of the way to all the Decorations, I’m getting 83.3% Duplicates 😖...and that 83.3% will increase with each unique Decoration I DO get. When I get to the point where I have enough E$Cash to buy the remainder of the guaranteed unique Decorations + the E$1,000 fee for each evolution, that’s what I’ll do, and save my Gems! Im almost to that point now...only a couple more days 😎

Some koalas visited one of my parks and gave me a rifted StoneShell. Now I have a rifted one that I can sacrifice evolve to Minchi. I haven't let him know his fate yet.
I hope that they stay around for a while, I really would like to clone a Woodvine or Clairvoyant. I'm off to bake a special batch of eucalyptus scones with whipped cream and jam.
I haven’t seen it mentioned yet, so I wanted to warn you about the purchasing the magic chests....
While they are guaranteed to not give you a duplicate of ones you already you have, they only check for what is actually in your park. So if you have one still in your “gifts” they don’t see it as a duplicate. This is important if you’re buying mulitple chests to finish up your collections. You need to move each from gifts to your park before you buy the next one to avoid duplicates.
