I'll have to say, I did expect some point metric. Like back then when light/dark dragons came out... but adapting for players/house might be too hard if the coding doesn`t make it easy.
Like, each house could have earned their dragon for free and we could have competed for minor rewards using Eggs!/Eggy Hatchery points
What I have learned so far from Eggy Hatchy is to try to get unique eggs. It isn’t always best to keep merging. Look for high amounts to bank to fill the goal numbers.
Coldcoil is listed as available to breed under the goals but is listed as unavailable in the dragonarium. There is not a breeding hint so this must be a mistake.
I am not understanding the egg hatchery at all - I needed three fire and banked smoke, salamander and lava and it didn’t give me credit for three. Do they have to have flames to be fire? I did another one and banked three corals and got 2 fire credit.
I am SO happy to see lower price points for returning and new dragons. DECA seems to be listening, learning and adjusting. 😀 I would have liked to see the Hidden habitat amount raised with new Hidden dragons available though.

Pay attention to the number that is listed. So...if it is a metal 3 listed, it means you need to merge to at least a number 3 before you bank. As long as the element is within the egg you are banking and it has been merged the minimum amount, it will count. It can be tricky as you can lose the element you are going for when merging.

It`s possible they had a minimum level -- like three level 5+ eggs. Or one level 3+ fire egg. With each merging, the level increases by 1. My requirements were one egg of a high level.

I don’t understand the Eggy Hatchy game!!! Could/would someone explain it to me? I think the smoke from all the nearby wildfires has affected my brain. That’s my excuse, anyway. Thank you to whoever takes on this task.
Edit: Now I see that others are confused also & there have been some helpful answers. I’ll go back later & try again.

always cash in yellow eggs when they appear. done. the whole trick.
... one part is stupid luck, though. I needed a level 5 cold egg and two level 4 fire. Somehow managed a twin level 5 Flickerflame. Maybe the only way to get this done with some goals.

I don't really understand the new Eggy Hatchy game, but I must be doing something right because I ended up scoring over 12,000 when my goal was only about 5,000. 😝

Okay, so all "rules" now working by higher levels. Aiming for failsafe.
1. bank in pre-existing yellow eggs. E.g. my tier 5 camp arrow started out with a Char. 2. if you need a level 5 cold egg, work your way up the chain and only add cold when trying for level 4 or 5. You`ll never run out of the element this way. While creating the level 2-3 egg, try to use combinations that might result in an epic. ... all treasure (metal +air/cold/fire/lightning/earth) ... seasonal (plant/air/fire) ... olympic (earth, lightning, air) ... snowy olympic (fire, cold, air) 2. a) use twin eggs for the level 1-3 egg in this example. If you do not get an epic, but a yellow egg, turning it in will still give you a great number of points. This is absolutely *necessary* at high levels when you need level 5 eggs, but also a higher point minimum!
You will possibly fail the minimum if there was no epic, and you didn't turn in such an egg. If you do not receive a yellow, keep merging to level 4 and 5 with the cold element.
So, again: 1. Scout the map for pre-existing yellows. Turn it in. 2. Merge eggs for easy to get epics. Failing that, use them for the minimum egg level requirements. 3. If you were very unlucky and the last level 4/5 eggs also aren't yellows, you will need to have turned a twin egg yellow in or failure is very likely. Using your yellow twin egg early for points is the most reliable strategy. With a 25k minimum, one yellow twin should be enough.
Also, I say yellows, but this also includes dragons with a special egg design (blazing rares), or say, rares like flickerflame.
Guess I need to return to Dragon Breeding School. I haven't made it off of the tutorial tower in Eggy Hatchy despite reading the tutorial
Well, I passed the tutorial, but unable to achieve all the goals on level 2 of another “tower”...I need 2 level 4 light elements and all I can get is one. The light element keeps disappearing when I try to merge to get to level 4. 😥...Guess I will be joining the remedial class.

I tried to come up with a ruleset that works consistently at tier 5.

There`s likely more mistakes by fast typing, but I`m useless at precision past 18.00. I hope this helps someone with higher tiers.
