Okay, so all "rules" now working by higher levels. Aiming for failsafe.
1. bank in pre-existing yellow eggs. E.g. my tier 5 camp arrow started out with a Char. 2. if you need a level 5 cold egg, work your way up the chain and only add cold when trying for level 4 or 5. You`ll never run out of the element this way. While creating the level 2-3 egg, try to use combinations that might result in an epic. ... all treasure (metal +air/cold/fire/lightning/earth) ... seasonal (plant/air/fire) ... olympic (earth, lightning, air) ... snowy olympic (fire, cold, air) 2. a) use twin eggs for the level 1-3 egg in this example. If you do not get an epic, but a yellow egg, turning it in will still give you a great number of points. This is absolutely *neccessary* at high levels when you need level 5 eggs, but also a higher point minimum!
You will possibly fail the minimum if there was no epic, and you didn't turn in such an egg. If you do not receive a yellow, keep merging to level 4 and 5 with the cold element.
So, again: 1. Scout the map for pre-existing yellows. Turn it in. 2. Merge eggs for easy to get epics. Failing that, use them for the minimum egg level requirements. 3. If you were very unlucky and the last level 4/5 eggs also aren't yellows, you will need to have turned a twin egg yellow in or failure is very likely. Using your yellow twin egg early for points is the most reliable strategy. With a 25k minimum, one yellow twin should be enough.
Also, I say yellows, but this also includes dragons with a special egg design (blazing gale), or say, rares like flickerflame.
There`s likely more mistakes by fast typing, but I`m useless at precision past 18.00. I hope this helps someone with higher tiers.
Point in case. Either "There`s likely to be" or "There are". Good night. I'' have to get up at 5.00.

Seems like there’s so much good info here, but I am not understanding any of it. Starting with, how do I know what level I need of any element?
Thanks for your help. Sleep well.
At level 5 camp arrow you need 25k points + two level 5 dark eggs. The minimum egg level matches the tier you`re on. You need to achieve both goals to receive 40 pine cones. Goals are shown left under "requirements".
It`s not hard, but you need to be very strategic about it. I just got 55k points, one yellow twin, two normal yellows. The map started out with a yellow egg (so free 7k+ points!). That also means with the same, but a bonus twin epic, you might score above 100k. Since you start out with two twin eggs, the chance isn`t horrible. If you`re extremely unlucky, you might also barely reach 30k. But it`s logically either always or almost always doable.
Maybe someone can write it down better or improve upon the strategy.

Ok here are some things about the new egg game:
Every day there will be other towers. A tower has 5 stages (only the tutorial tower has 3), you can only play the next stage if you have earned enough points (needed points for next stage are shown at the bottom of the tower) You can repeat a passed stage to earn more points. Each try to fullfill a stage cost you one ticket. Each 30 minutes you will get a new ticket up to the maximum of 5 (only in the beginning you have been given 10) If you fullfill a stage (fulfill all given goals) you are rewarded pinecones. The last stage of a tower is rewarded the highest amount of pinecones.(sort of a bonus for fulfilling the tower)
The game itself You merge 2 eggs which are horizontally or vertically next to each other. A gap between the eggs is also ok for merging. The eggs have all level 1 at the beginning (little circle with number) With each merge the level increases by one. Only exception: if you merge two same eggs the level increases by 2. Twin eggs will always result in twin eggs. At each time you can bank an egg. It is then taken out of the gamesquare. You have saved the egg to be noted for the goals.
The goals are different. Up to now I had goals of 2 different types a) get at least x points b) get x eggs with the element air/water, fire... with at least the level y
I believe there will also be goals like : get x twins of level y or get a specific dragon type (gold, herald...)

The needed level number it shown at the side of the element in a little circle
I see.
And where might I find the element?
Edit: I see 9 eggs with a 1 in a circle. To the left the is Goal 100 points + 1000 points. Underneath is a chest. To the right is 0 points. Underneath is “Tap any egg”
Edit Jr: I have read the instructions, which describe the mechanics, but not the aim. I do not know which egg, of any, I should tap on.

Some levels don't have any element requirements, just total points. When there's a requirement to get an element to a particular level, it'll say so in the goals to the left.
Additional points:
1. If you want an egg to count for a goal, you have to bank it in that state. If you need a level 5 cold egg, achieve it, and then merge with something else such that it no longer includes cold, it won't count - it needed to be banked while it was still cold.
2. I don't think elements count in epics unless it's listed on the card (like Nightbloom is Moon, Dark, and Plant). I tried to bank a Silver (metal and cold) for a cold goal and didn't get credit. I may be wrong about this, though.

additional: even if you have fulfilled all goals the game won't stop until you have merged and/or banked all eggs. This is also usefull to achieve as many points as possible (for the tower )

In your game no element was needed, only points. Tapand merge eggs. If you achieve an egg with high value (most times golden hybrids), tap on it and click on "bank". The value of the egg then counts against your goal. Go on with the next eggs, until all eggs are banked and you hopefully have achieved enough points.

The goals can be points, or specific elements, or a combination of the two (that we know so far). Tapping on an egg and merging it with another follows the basic DV breeding rules. Vanilla hybrids have relatively low points, but golden hybrids, epics, and rares all offer huge numbers of points (anywhere from 5000 to 25000 points versus a few hundred for vanillas). When you get a high-value egg (the point total is listed at the bottom), tap it and hit the Bank button so the points get saved - otherwise, the next thing you breed it with may be much lower value and you'll lose the points. Any egg can be banked at any time, so if there's a golden hybrid on the board to start with, you can bank it immediately. You can also get a high-value egg as your second-to-last outcome, bank it, and simply bank the one remaining egg since there's nothing to breed it with.
You can switch the egg you're working on at any time, so if you get a Blazing and want to try for a Daylily, you can leave the Blazing in place and go work on getting an egg with the plant element in position where the Blazing can breed with it.
There's a total point goal for the tower as well as specific goals for each level, so even if you can't get the specific goals in a given round, it's still useful to try for high points to contribute to the overall tower total.

What is the value in achieving points for the tower?

This egg matchy game seems like a whole lot of brain power for only 20 or so pine cones. Does the pine cone reward increase with the tower levels?
Also, kinda bummed there are no campy decorations to be had, like a tent or a campfire maybe. I’d really love to have that blue bird. 😉

Excellent stuff.
And the point of the tower total?
The tower total is needed to unlock higher floors ona tower. If you clear level 3, have 98k points, but level 4 requires 100k then you’ll need to play again and get 2k more at an earlier level. You can unlock higher levels without even completing earlier ones with enough points.

Definite missed opportunity on both of those. Will have to make do with the rustic cave.
Haven’t even looked at the new dragons yet. Does one of them look like that brown tent in the splash screen?
Maybe Apex, it’s brown and has horns/tusks all over.
good observation on them being house dragons. We are missing my house, Iron Blossom 🌺 and Blazing Gale. I’ll guess that the two headed shadow teaser is going to be Blazing Gale.
