Has anyone else been getting eggs and decorations from the golden chests?
I just got an Icy Torrent flag decoration and a twin Flowerhop from the golden chests. I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet, so I thought I'd ask.

I have got a decoration but no eggs this time. I received two mystery eggs last event. I don’t buy extra plays in these type of events though. I would like to see a guarantee of either an egg, deco or event currency. The dragoncash and food is not worth spending gems on. I think more players would spend gems if they were guaranteed the prizes I mentioned.

I'm playing the Guess the Dragon game. The gold chests seem to pop up quite a bit for this mini game, usually more often on double day, I think. Or it just it seems like they come up more often, so I can't be 100% certain.
I used to play Dragon Drop all the time, until I started getting lower and lower payouts, usually the smallest number of event currency each try. Now I mainly play Guess the Dragon because nine times out of ten I guess correctly.

The golden chest I got came up when I was playing Name That Egg in the Adventure Tent. The chest I received was given after I answered what dragon went with egg that came up. My chest had pine cones, dragon cash and the Icy Torrent banner. That is the only one I have received with event and I have never received a dragon from a golden chest. I won’t waste my gems on because you most likely will get dc or food. The games are available in my park in the morning and again after reset at 1:00. I think the banners were available during BEB in the market.
For the second time this event, I have completed all 3 Towers.
Are other people accomplishing this about once a week? Less? More? How is everyone doing?

When they first introduced the game, once I understood it, I thought they had come up with something that was surprisingly deep - a nice mix of strategy and luck, where a shortfall in luck could often be made up for with clever strategy and vice versa. The most demanding levels definitely required both and often took a few tries, but because they frequently seeded the levels with golden hybrids, it made the luck factor less essential most of the time, and overall it was fairly satisfying.
However, that was just the first week. I'm reminded of the bingo card events, where the first week the cards are easy, consisting almost entirely of vanilla hybrids and straight elements - there are few goldens, and no rares or epics. The second week, though, the gloves come off, and not only are goldens, rares, ghostlies, and epics sprinkled in, but you can get entire cards filled with epics. I feel like they've done the same thing here: there are now very few golden hybrids spotted you at any level, which means if you have to gain 30k points in one round, you're almost entirely dependent on luck. And this is often just the first tier! Requirements that were tier 4 and 5 last week now show up at tier 1, which means sometimes you can spend 2-3 tickets and 3-5 minutes or more just trying to get past the first level for a lousy 10 pinecones.
So to answer your question, Fletch, no, I don't routinely or even occasionally clear the towers, because as the luck factor becomes more dominant, the strategy feels hollow and the frustration level shoots up, to the point where I find myself avoiding the mini-game as much as I can. After multiple tries to clear a 30k board where nothing but vanillas show up in every breeding, then a board where I'm getting epics and rares at every turn, I think I'd rather just go play slots - at least it doesn't pretend to be anything other than random.

I have never completed all 3 towers - the most was 2.6 towers. The first week was pretty easy, but this past week has been much harder to complete even 1 tower. I was excited when the game came out and was definitely hooked into playing quite a bit because it seemed easy and fun. But yesterday's pinecone prizes where level 4 was only 20 pinecones definitely took the shine off the game for me. Felt a lot like the bingo cards that went from "how fun" to "why bother". TBH I've gotten busier, so I don't have as much time to play, and I don't have breeding memorized so I play by luck rather than strategy. But I frequently find cursed levels that I just cannot complete so I don't feel like finding the time. When I need a level 4 lightning egg and it takes 3 or 4 more combinations just to add the lightning element back into the mix is just downright depressing. And that happens over and over again. So... I don't actively hate it, but I definitely don't ignore chores anymore just to play it.

The vale is in autumn colours and adult Frons has red leaves. Will Frons leaves change to brown for winter (or totally fall off, he could become a stick), light green for spring and a darker green for summer?

Camp Olivine looks like the first one you should go for. Then Camp Butterfly has the least amount of dragon breeds required, but needs a lot of points to get to the top tier. But Camp Evergreen might be the way to go, if you have the skills, and luck, for dragon breeding.

I've reached level 5 a few times, level 4 more often. Reaching the points goal while breeding several dragons has proven to be beyond my skill set. At least now I understand how the game works.

There have been a few days that I've been neglectful in playing, and only logged in once or twice that day. On those days, I've run my 5 or 10 attempts and been done. On the days where I check in every 3 hours or so while awake, when I'll have 5 tickets again, I've completed all three towers most times. There have been two separate days where I just couldn't get the luck to finish up one of the three, on the 5th stage.
I employ various strategies to finish, for example if I need a level 5 metal dragon and there's a metal egg, I pretty much join to that egg on the 5th step and try to hit a metal dragon the step before too. I also try to start with eggs that don't have any of the required elements, to get them off the board and turn them into the right ones at a later step. If I have 2 eggs that are the same, in the same row/column, I'll clear out ones between them and then join them together to get a free level in the egg. While working on completing one criteria, if I end up with a high scoring egg then I'll pause that and see if I can't complete it elsewhere and then bank the high score. If I get an epic egg, I'll often bank it even if it means failing, so that I'll have more points to unlock higher stages in a tower and not need to re-run an earlier completed stage later. If you need 2 colds and there are only 2 colds on the board, be sure to join to each cold in the last step - removes more chances that you might lose that element in earlier steps.

I got an egg from one chest in my main park. I think it was a twin hidden bolt, but now I can’t remember. I think that was also the day I got two chests in one round of 5 name the dragons. I was pretty amazed. I seem to get many more chests in my main park than in my baby. I’m not sure how that works, but since the prizes are rarely special, it’s not a big deal.

I have managed to get all three towers to level 5 most days, but have only completed all three towers twice. If I have a busy day and don't manage to play as often, I concentrate on playing the levels that are open and I can win pinecones from before I re-do the levels I have passed, but need more points to open up the next level.
viviane great tip about attempting the higher levels if they're open. I have managed to complete some higher levels while failing at level 3 several times.
