I have always felt that the competitions were for fun first, but then the prizes were a consolation prize for the person or persons would had the most trouble getting the dragon. crumble608 , Let’s suppose only one person breeds a very hard to get dragon, so declares themselves a loser. Everyone else fails to breed the dragon despite constant trying, maybe using lots of gems and probably a ton of etherium, so they buy it at the last minute. Your thinking is that the person who bred it is the winner. I personally don’t agree. They got the dragon, the gems for pledges, and got to keep their event currency also. They were definitely not a loser.
I agree with LynnMarie , if someone does not breed or buy the dragon, they should be the winner. However, if everyone who doesn’t breed the dragon buys it, we have two choices. First, like LynnMarie suggested, we have no winner, or second, everyone who had to buy it with event currency is a winner.
rulilind I like your second option also, everyone who has to buy Frons, at the last moment before it expires, are shared winners That is if everyone left ends up buying it and there are no obvious winners who didn’t buy with event currency. The Great Koala knows I’ve already been spending gems like crazy for Frons. My first co-op was Iron Blossom with Tulip and right out of the gate I got a 48 hour Gold, = 48 gems gone 🤦🏻♀️
So looking at all the posts, and the votes in the Poll, it seems we are happy to say the comp runs the full duration that the limited dragon is available in the market, and anyone who buys it forfeits any winnings.
A good point was made, that if you are sharing the dragon you have bought, there is a marked uptake of the number of people breeding with it, and so your chances of receiving a Twin increase, and you probably shouldn't get Twin gems for that either.
So I think for the moment, (unless anyone strenuously disagrees) we will leave the rules as they stand, which is that buying the dragon removes you from the competition, and therefore the chance to win any prize. But you still owe the gems you pledged.
I just did the invite friends test and see a frons dragon! Yeah! I don’t know if it is from the coop (21 hrs) or the cave (17.30 ? hrs.). I’m not going to speed them up since I’m not sure, and I will need to spend more gems for a breeding spot. Also tomorrow is Sunday and visiting grands, so I will not have details until Sunday evening.

Adlerst said the breeding odds are better than the cloning odds but after several loooong fails I switched to cloning Frons with my plant. This way you have only two elements in the mix and most of them have not as long breeding times. I had malachite, 3 plant fails and then Frons. It's Sunday here.

So I now have 48 hr fails in all three of my caves. How high did you say those breeding odds were? Sigh.
Hopefully you got all those long fails out of the way all at once, and now you can get down to business and get a Frons. That is one of the best things about these competitions, though we are competitors, we are still always cheering for each. Now, go get that Frons.

I'm not disagreeing, strenuously or otherwise, I am just looking for clarity. When I read the rules I thought I understood them as you could purchase the egg as long as you make a post in the thread letting people know and do not hatch the egg until after the competition. Is that no longer true?
