I love the rift for breeding, getting several done quickly each day curbs the desire to throw gems away on speed breeding outside the rift, even if I don't get the desired dragon that day.
Apparently Deca has said they don't want to develop the rift more because it's "too easy" to breed the dragons there; I don't find it TOO easy (I am missing a LOT of rifted dragons!) but letting people put rift habitats on the regular islands lets Deca continue to put out the rift versions of all the new dragons without having to add or expand islands producing etherium, and limiting etherium production limits the average number of rift breeds per day. It's actually a rather clever solution to making more places to put more rift dragons (besides the storage tower) without increasing etherium production (and hence increasing number of possible rift breeds).
What I would really like to see is the rift habitats being like little wormholes that could connect to breeding caves both inside and outside the rift, so dragons there wouldn't need a few hours (or etherium speedup) to be transferred from one realm to the other.
As far as I know, Deca has never said they don’t want to expand the Rift because it’s too easy to breed in the Rift. They have been spending almost all their time working on events and getting a feel for the game. Once they’re comfortable with DV, they could consider an expansion. Keep in mind, if they do this, the prices in the Rift, like habitats, feeding dragons, clearing Miasmic Ether, breeding, etc could go up dramatically. When Backflip expanded the Rift, prices absolutely soared. Players were extremely upset. But the price increase is necessary to balance the new earning potential from additional habitats.
A Rift expansion will always be accompanied by higher costs and unhappy players.

When I sold cold dragon eggs from Gaia's nursery today, I only received 4 candies. I had been getting 24 on double days and 12 on normal days. I had been filling my nursery with Cold dragons when I had empty slots at night. Not sure when this changed because my nursery has been full the past few days.
Added: will try to watch and see if I notice any other differences.
I also bred a cold overnight to see and it only gave 4 candies (doubles day). Earth also gave 4 candies, so did fire and plant (they only use to give 2 on doubles day). Looks like there has been a change to how event currency is granted. I don’t know if it’s only for primary dragons or based on dragon type (again I am not that detail oriented) but it would be nice to know the new earnings and changes mid-event.
Pumpkins and Treats respawn, as far as I can tell ...
Pumpkin 1, 10 Candy, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 5 times a day. Pumpkin 2, 20 Candy, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 2 times a day. Pumpkin 3, 30 Candy, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 2 times a day. Pumpkin 4, 50 Candy, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 1 time a day. Treats 1, 1000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 10 times a day. Treats 2, 1000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 10 times a day. Treats 3, 1000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 10 times a day. Treats 4, 1000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 10 times a day. Treats 5, 1000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 10 times a day. Treats 4 High Level, 100,000 Food, every 14 mins 24 secs, Max 1 time a day.
Interesting! I have not noticed this pattern of respawning in my park. I check my park multiple times a day and this definitely doesn't happen, as far as I can tell. There isn't a border nor can I see any pumpkins or treats when I do a quick run through around my park -- I tried checking back within 15ish minute increments after collecting everything to test this out. Unless they respawn 'behind the scenes' and only show up in the park with the border when there's a critical mass of items? But this doesn't seem likely. I've also been able to collect candy from the treats when they respawn.
It seems like sometimes, if you don't collect in time, not as many items respawn, and if you do collect early, you somehow get an extra respawn or more items at the next respawning, but I still can't tell what's supposed to be happening.
Oh, look who’s back. The super enthusiastic cutie pie!
We missed you, Berry!
Berry is here for 18 days.

Has anyone noticed that Aubergine in the market is not rifted? From the evolve instructions, you need to evolve a rifted Berry in order to get an Aubergine - meaning it's always rifted. Does this mean that buying it in the market is the only way to get a non-rifted Aubergine? Or potentially by luck breeding two rifted Aubergines in the park instead of the rift?

I've gotten too many of these from mystery eggs. They are hard locked, though. Aubergine + Aubergine only.

The last one. If you evolve two Aubergines in the Rift, then send them to the Vale, you can breed untraited versions fairly easily.

Here is the payout and spawn rates for each Candy Bash VII hidden item:
PAY RATE At reset, all items will be in your park:
• Basket with melon: every 4 hours, maximum of 3x per day • Cornucopia: every 4 hours, maximum of 3x per day • Harvest baskets: every 4 hours, maximum of 3x per day • Picnic basket: every 4 hours, maximum of 3x per day • Small pumpkin: every 4 hours, maximum of 5x per day • Medium pumpkin: every 12 hours, maximum of 2x per day • Yellow pumpkin: every 12 hours, maximum of 2x per day • Giant pumpkin: once per day • Whitbee: once per day
NOTE: you’ll need to clear at least some items to make room for spawning. For most items, you can only have two in your park at one time.
(I will add this to first page of the thread if any needs it.)

OMGSSS!!! This!!!! This is what I've been trying to figure out - no wonder it was tricky, multiple timescales and varying rates of repetition! With the pumpkins, when it says maximum of 2x or 5x per day, does that mean, for example, you can get up to a total of four medium pumpkins (two at reset and two more a second time - i.e. 2x) or 10 small pumpkins (2 at reset and 2 more each additional time x5) total per day?
Also, I've found that although you can have two of the same pumpkin type in your park, you can't have more than one of each of the harvest basket type items. And your item 'slots' will fill up once you have the same number of items in your park as at reset. Is this correct? And will an item only respawn once you've collected it and the 4/12 hour timer starts from that point?
I hope I made sense there... And yes, pretty, please add it to the front page! Thank you thank you adlerist!

You’re very welcome! Yes, that’s correct. You can only have 12 items in your park at one time. Until some of the baskets and pumpkins are cleared, spawning won’t be activated. Reset is considered the first spawn, then 4 or 12 hours later the next will occur if there’s room and it won’t surpass the item’s limit. The spawning seems to be timed with the reset, not when an item is cleared. But if cleared late, the spawning could potentially be delayed.

So on the front page here it says the new dragons can't be bred, only cloned. But then it also lists the combinations. Are those for some future time and they don't work now? The sandbox seems to show that they can be bred. I'm confused!

The dragons under:
'MEET THE DRAGONS' 'EVENT DRAGONS' 'BUY/CLONE ONLY' '(these new dragons cannot be bred)'
Are not breedable. These are the new event dragons in the last tier of the event market. The combos are their breedings hints, and given Deca’s pattern, you won’t be able to use them until BEB. Some players find it helpful to know the breeding combos now because it gives them an idea of which dragons are best to use for cloning. Or which parent dragons they need to obtain in a traited form so they’ll be able to breed the event dragons in the Rift during BEB. But I’ll delete the combos so there’s no knowledge on how to breed and hopefully it’s less confusing.
The sandbox is correct. It is showing these new event dragons can be cloned but are not breedable. Here’s Maw’s results.
New event dragons, usually in the last prize tier, are not breedable. Only the new limited event dragons (which haven’t been released yet) are breedable. This has been the standard in DV’s events for a while. I agree, it is confusing.

To add to adlerist most excellent answer, the easiest and most reliable way to see if a dragon is breedable is to check your Dragonarium. If a limited dragon is available, it will have a green hourglass. All the new event dragons are greyed out and are showing as Not Available.

I'm deconstructing my plant island to get a third Halloween base. Making use of all the decorations is surprisingly difficult. They're so pretty, though...
Especially the ones with the limit removed that you actually have to buy instead of using BEB stock.

YES - I love my Halloween island it's one of my favorites. I just got a new island and I've moved all my metal habitats to it so I could swap stuff around and add another spooky habitats to the Halloween island.
Moved dark to my moon island and I love how that looks.
I HATE that you haven't got anything yet....you need to make a sacrifice to the wizard.
