Can you explain why you don’t like it? Only saying you don’t like something doesn’t offer an opportunity to fix it. Constructive criticism is helpful, but if you just don’t like Eggy in general then I completely understand, and not much can really be done.
There aren't any changes, in a way. The levels are just stacked differently... *
So I liked the personal touch to tower names better in the prior version. There isn't more to it. /// Premise * I disagree that egg hatchy actually became harder. Someone may not. (Since yes, it feels harder, but I'm not spending more tickets!)
Thank you for your input!
Everyone, as you continue to play Eggy Hatchy, if you have any new comments or updates during the remaining days of the event, please message me and I’ll pass it along. The feedback line is never closed. Cheers!

I don’t care for Eggy Hatchy much. There is some skill required that it is not hard to adquiere, after that is all luck. There are times of the day when the hardest levels are easy to complete and there are times when one fails miserably with the easiest level.
I hope the next event has the runic caves so I can get some of my missing rift dragons from the recent events. Runic caves are the only thing I spend real money on, I hope the next event has them so I can help support DECA.

Loved our last gift of the day from DECA ! So many great choices to choose from. I had no trouble finding a dragon i really needed. Also, love egg hatchy (before and after the changes) ! Is a GREAT way for me to earn extra berries and it costs me no gems (the item i hate to part with) 😂 I have emailed both comments to DECA 😃👍🏻

When this event began, I was soooo discouraged because I was missing so many of the prizes & based on past events, felt I would never catch up. My koalas must be the laziest because I would rarely be able to breed one of the event dragons. I am ending this event very happy. Thanks to several factors, I was able to end up with every prize I wanted. That is a successful event! That you, Deca, for the change in the breeding/cloning odds, for the Eggy Hatchy game; thank you, adlerist, for being such a great representative for us & putting a new dragon immediately in the co-op cave, and a giant thank you to Fletch_smf for your invaluable info on cloning. I am in awe of your influence on this game forum over the years, your dedication to the game & forum, your intelligence that lets you calculate the odds. Thank you to all the members who make this forum (& the game) such an enjoyable refuge. And, @poppy, if you are out there, thank you for creating this forum “way back when.”

I still have not made a decision on the last days dragon. I have all dragons and this will be a twin, which I recently started collecting. Does anyone have an opinion, which of the selection is the hardest to collect and I should select it now. Or may never get the opportunity again.

I made my decision by getting one that had a locked breeding combo and I only owned 1 of the dragon. My thought was that if the RBCs ever do come back I would have a harder time breeding a second instance of that dragon to try to get a breeding pair for the RBC to then get a twin. Not sure if that makes any sense or if it was a wise approach, but that is how I chose.
Now I’m working on breeding a second of the others I only own one of. I’m reallllllllly hoping the RBCs come back.

Snowpocalypse has the greatest number of breeding fails of all the dragons listed. Starshine is in a close second. I would choose one of those two.

I chose a twin Starshine - not because of the number of breeding fails (which is a valid consideration), but because I don't have a rifted version. Starshine has a locked combo - Twinkle and Dazzling, which are both hard dragons to breed and I don't have a rifted Twinkle. Starshine is also needed to breed the new Yanghis dragon.
You have until the end of the upcoming doubles weekend to make your decision. That is when the event island will disappear. If you haven't made your selection by then, you will be gifted a random dragon which will be sent to your social menu.

Way too much logic in that post! 😄
I’ll add that Snowpocalypse also has a locked breeding combo (although not as bad as Starshine’s) and is required to breed Snowball. So Starshine and Snowpocalyspse are really in a close race for the worst to breed and the most desirable to select.

I already have at least one of each also, so for the last gift I chose Krampus. I have only one krampus, unrifted, and he and Kringle haven’t given me a Yeti yet. Hopefully this will help me in getting Yeti, since I have a second Kringle just sitting around.

PSA: IF YOU HAVEN’T CLAIMED YOUR DRAGON FROM THE LAST GIFT IN THE GLACIAL GIFTERY, PLEASE DO SO NOW. DO NOT WAIT.
The event islands will disappear in 24 HOURS (at the next daily reset). It’s easy to forget about the Glacial Giftery when you’re playing. Open your game now and make your selection, so you don’t regret missing your dragon later.
Also, this is the last call for snowball fighting champ Yeti and seafood connoisseur Angler. Get ‘em while they’re fresh and new!

I just wanted to say this has been the worst event ever for me in terms of being able to breed event dragons. I have three parks on two devices. My etherium stocks on two parks were over 600K when the event started. They are now down to under $200K. I have been breeding Gulletail and Venture in the rift on two parks for four days now, and have one Angler to show for it. I managed to breed a twin non-rift Yeti, so have one on two parks, but the third park has neither a Yeti nor Angler despite hours of playing and even using gems to speed-breed. No way will I be able to obtain all the event dragons and pedestals on all three parks for the first time ever. Not a happy camper and very quickly am losing interest in continuing playing. Just saying. Putting the feedback out there.

This has been a better event for me than the Halloween event as I have been able to breed more of the new release dragons.
It was challenging with two dragons being released at the same time for only ten days and having to split the breeding. Angler with 104 possible outcomes was never going to be easy - Yeti slightly easier with only 33 possible outcomes. Over two parks using the breeding combos, I managed one rifted Angler, one rifted Yeti and one non-rifted Yeti. And managed to clone a Yeti from the rifted Yeti.
Next event might be luckier for you - don't give up.

Do your calculations now to see if you have enough iceberries to buy what you desire.
*squints* I think I just got a Dazzling from Ghostly Cold/Angler, in the co-op cave. Eh?
Yes, that’s correct. This is a glitch from last year that Deca has not fixed yet. Breeding with an ornamental dragon can result in Dazzling or Ornamental.

Somehow, I couldn’t write a comment on singleimage ’s reply but here goes: You’re right, DECA didn’t take away Farming, they cut the value in half, making it less desirable to do so.
The Bugs: The Golf games I played for many years rarely had a bug but when they did, they were quickly fixed. DV has bugs every time they touch something and they linger on, unfixed, for days, even weeks before they are corrected. I worked 41 years in the real business, financial and legal world, providing software for every application you can think of. Believe me, the type of bugs that we constantly see in DV would not be acceptable to any real world customers. In the real IT world, applications and updates/changes are tested every way possible and not put into production until they have undergone a thorough QC process. This is obviously not happening with DV and hasn’t for quite some time. We pay real $$$, just like a bank or manufacturing company would pay for an application; we should expect way fewer bugs.
Crashes: are caused by poor memory management. As you play DV, the actual program code performs subroutines, which use additional memory. When the subroutine is completed properly, that memory is returned to the system for use by the next subroutine. If a subroutine is not properly exited (due to careless coding) that memory is not returned to the system. Gradually, as you do things, subroutines are performed and not properly exited, memory usage grows until there is none left. Then, when you try to do something, there is no memory left to do it so the app crashes. Yes, without regard to those of us with older devices, they installed The Rift, which is, a giant subroutine. Most often, the crashes occur after returning to your main Park after having visited and doing things in the Rift. DECA didn’t write the improper code but they should at least try to correct it.
I know DECA isn’t trying to upset me. And I know that a lot of problems were there when DECA took over DV. The object of the game is to BREED dragons. The harder they make it to breed or acquire Dragons, the more real $$$ you must spend to get them. Before HASBRO took DV over I didn’t especially think it was a money grab but since then it has and continues to require more of our real $$$.
Hey sorry I’ve been really swamped this week. Thanks for your reply! I think that’s really cool and very interesting that you’ve provided software for businesses for so many years! My dad did something similar developing, programming, installing and troubleshooting software and updates for companies. He has a lot of knowledge and experience with different types of business software. But unfortunately that’s not the same as mobile game development, and he agrees whenever we talk about geeky programming stuff. Games will have many more chances of bugs and different types of bugs with more difficulty. The complexity of mobile and video games far exceeds that of business software. They’re not really comparable.
The memory problems you’re describing are not the problems BFS had to deal with and DECA are now facing. This has been explained to you and others earlier but you keep insisting the RAM issues can be fixed by simply recoding subroutines. If this was a tax software, member database, or a word processing app maybe that would apply, but games are very different. Just because two applications can run on the same device it doesn’t mean the solution for one will transfer to the other. If business software is the third dimension, mobile and video games are the fourth dimension. There’s an added layer or dimension that can’t be fully realized and understood in the third dimension because it isn’t developed or being used to that extent.
Comparing two different mobile games is more similar but it’s still not identical. The complexity of Dragonvale with its animation and all its components is much greater than a golfing game. Also the custom engine of DV has different limitations than Unity, Unreal Engine, Corona SDK, Marmalade, SpriteKit and so on. The Rift takes up RAM but realistically DECA is not going to get rid of the Rift to free up memory. It’s a huge part of the game.
I really appreciate and respect your experience and knowledge. I’m not trying to undermine that or say you’re not knowledgeable in your field. But please understand that difficulties with mobile game applications can be different, and people like myself who work in the gaming industry are also knowledgeable in our field. I understand the problems that BFS and DECA face. Could they do better and test more and fix bugs faster? Sure. But that will take more staff and resources something I doubt DECA has since they’re not a huge gaming company like Nintendo, EA, Tencent, Activision Blizzard, or Zynga and Gameloft. They’re a small company that saves previously owned games, so we’ll have to be more patient. ✌️
I’m running on an aging and well-loved ipad Air2. A couple of things that work for me to avoid crashing and may help you.....
You probably already know about selecting Low-res mode in the options menu, but it’s worth mentioning. If yo have the Weather Station, try turning off the foreground animation (falling snow, leaves, or whatever) If you’re breeding in the rift, zooming in will move some of the animation off-screen. That seems to help. If you’re collecting DC manually (rather than using Ts’aishen), only collect from either the rift or the park in a single game session. If you feel the game start to lag, close it to save then reopen it to contine.
These seem to work for me. I tend to play the game in multiple “sessions” so I don’t usually have to do a lot of back and forth to and from the rift.
I selected Rifted Burglehoo as my gift , however I missed Yanghis. Can someone please add me as a friend Bing2252#1234 and share their Yanghis in the coop? Out of my 30 DV friends only 4 have remained playing DV, so I need more friends.

Thanks Minyaz for the reminder about the limited tier. I need to grab a Yeti and had forgotten about the limited tier going away today.
