Love is in the air — and not just in the Vale, but also on the Forum
NEW EVENT THEME
Sweet dreams occur at night, so this event has a dark theme. If you prefer light themes, click on the 'T' icon in the lower left corner of the screen and switch to '10 Years', which is light. You must be a Forum member to change themes, because your selection is retained to the member profile so you don’t have to update the theme every time you login.
Banner image is the Sweet Dreams loading screen
Background image is the Hearts Twilight Tower theme. Plus, a Box of Chocolates!
Since the Box of Chocolates hilariously remained in the sky all through the last Valentine’s event, I thought I’d bring back the nostalgic moment. However, the chocolate box is causing some problems and not centring itself properly on a tablet and phone screen. I’ll work on it a little more, but I may remove the chocolates.
NEW FORUM FEATURE!
The Forum can sometimes have lengthy pages with long posts and lots of images. To help you navigate a little faster, Davinese and Fissure are here to give you a hand.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see either endearing Davinese jumping UP in an effort to fly, or delightful Fissure cracking DOWN on the surface. If you click Davinese, you’ll be taken to the top of the page.
If you click Fissure, you’ll be directed to the bottom of the page. This means Fissure is only visible at the top of the page.
It took a long time to get the animation for Davinese and Fissure correct, so I’m going to leave it for now, but I may change them to images instead of animated buttons. I’ve positioned Davinese and Fissure so they’re small and not in the way of posts or Forum functions, but I don’t want Davinese to be too distracting. If you have feedback on Davinese and Fissure, please let me know.
You can also return to the top of the page by using the Home button on your computer keyboard. On a tablet or phone, tap the top of the screen. There’s also the really cumbersome gear icon on each Forum post, click it and select Back to Top.
But none of these options include dragons. So clearly it was very necessary to add the upward Davinese and the downward Fissure.
Davinese and Fissure are so amazing! I love seeing Davinese jump up when I’m typing a post. 😃
The Davinese Up and Fissure Down work so much better animated. It would’ve been more difficult to understand why Davinese and Fissure were chosen if they were just images. Knowing Davinese’s story and seeing him jump up to fly, and knowing Fissure’s animation and seeing him point down make them totally work!
I had such a lovely surprise seeing Fissure and Davinese hopping up and down on my screen. I didn't care why they were there, just happy to have them. Thanks for all your creative additions to the aesthetics of the forum.
Also thrilled to see a polar bear on my profile and it made me wonder if there's any hope of re-visiting the ratings which earned the lovely little blue parrot. I think I missed that opportunity a while back.

Bluetooth the Bluebird is from the Camp DV event, Into the Wild. Once we complete a year of rating dragons, we can see if opening awards back up can be a possibility. Maybe if there’s another Camp DV event, Bluetooth can be an option. Players really like the Bluebird. I don’t understand why Deca won’t make him into a decoration. Hmmm… maybe that will be my next mission / suggestion.

Deca gave us a family of polar bears to enjoy. Do you think we'll end up with a flock of bluebirds? It could be included in a weather theme - we already have bats.

Since Lightmare and Lumineux are very popular, I added both the baby and adult versions, so members don’t have to refrain from the dragon because someone else is using the image.
I also added both the baby and adult Humuhumu, because I wasn’t sure which you preferred, and they’re both pretty adorable. I would’ve loved it if Backflip named the dragon Humuhumunukunukuapua'a just to see them cram all those letters on the dragon’s profile card. 🐠

Hi! Don't get me wrong, the forum is absolutely fantastic, however I do have a suggestion, and would be interested in hearing if other people feel the same. Would it be possible to put all the "rate the dragon" threads in their own folder? Kind of similar to how there is the colosseum folder for all the contests? I just find it hard to find certain threads when they get buried in all the rate dragon threads.

The Rate a Dragon threads will be locked tomorrow night and moved to the Library, so they won’t be visible from the Dragon Park board. Since some players are still completing or updating their ratings, I’d prefer to keep them on the same board for now.
If all members used the New Posts button to navigate the Forum, then it wouldn’t be a problem. But a lot of members click the Dragon Park board, so they don’t see any threads except those on the board. As a result, they won’t see the Rate a Dragon threads if they’re moved.
I’ve been thinking about changing the thread icons to better differentiate the rating threads, from the event thread, from the bugs thread, etc. Right now, everything is the Fire dragon. I think categorising the threads by icon will help a lot. Similarly, I’d like to change and group the board icons as well. However, to do this will require some code, since the Forum isn’t setup this way. And I’ll also have to resize the icon images. So I’ll need to find the time to work on it. But in the end, this should organise the boards and make all threads much easier to locate.

NEW BOARD AND THREAD ICONS
I’ve changed the structure of the icons so a specific icon can be assigned to a board or thread. This should organise the Forum and make it easier to find information, especially for those who are new to the Forum.
I also cleaned up and updated all the dragon icons (Fire, Plant, Earth, Air, Lightning, Cold). The images looked pretty awful, and I always meant to redo them, so this was the perfect opportunity.

• If the board icon is baby Lightning, that means there are new posts on the board you haven’t read. (You must be a member and logged in to see the Lightning icon, because the Forum does not retain guest activity.)
• If there are no new posts, then the board’s usual icon (Nogard, baby Fire, Dragon Library) will show.
THREAD ICONS
If you click on the New Posts button on the navigation bar, or click a board, you’ll see all the threads associated with the board and the thread icons.

Since we have been locked out of forum features for many years, ProBoards has transferred ownership to me. It was becoming very problematic and having ownership intact will provide stability as we move forward and expand the Forum. TBH I thought you already were the owner of the forum adlerist. It makes perfect sense to me. I had no idea you guys were locked out of features. I’m glad you have access now.
I really like the new Nogard, library, and Celtic icons, especially Celtic! It’s exciting to see new dragons on the forum so I’m glad the event icon will change with each event 😊

Edit Profile & Settings will open and you can select either Use a Forum Avatar (click Pick One and a list of available avatars will show), or you can upload your personal avatar by choosing Use Only the Uploaded/Linked.
When you’re done, click the Save Avatar Changes button.
