Today, in celebration of el Día de los Muertos, Whitbee has hidden sugar skulls for his Scavenger Hunt! If you’re wondering about this holiday, and the tradition of calaveras (sugar skulls) here’s a link for more information.
Happy Skull Hunting!

The last day of the scavenger hunt ought to have everyone searching for bottles of Pepto Bismol. We're gonna need it after indulging in all these sweets.
We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
Worms I love your avatar. This is a perfect costume for Ikatako to go trick or treating in. He's very cute and would receive more candies than other Trick or Treaters.
PSA: the Scavenger Hunt Leaderboard can display an incorrect total
The leaderboard falls out of sync with the mini profile after several hours and will show an incorrect, lower amount. If you only collected a couple pieces of candy, you may no longer be on the leaderboard, or a 'null' value may return.
Finding another piece of candy will resolve the issue and sync the leaderboard with your mini profile. Please be aware, this could occur again, after several hours of inactivity. However, your mini profile is always keeping an accurate track of the amount of candy you’ve found. At the end of the Scavenger Hunt, the totals from the mini profile will be used to determine the winners.
Makes perfect sense. Candy needs to be eaten straight away otherwise it goes stale.
I should have started with this avatar. I forgot that changing your avatar to the dragon that you want to breed is supposed to bring luck for breeding the dragon. I hope that it works for rifted versions as well.
Candy apples were never meant to be eaten (which explains why they’re so impossible to eat).
In 1908, William Kolb, a Newark, New Jersey candy maker, dipped apples into melted red cinnamon candies to create festive Christmas objects for his window display. Intending to entice people into his shop to buy the actual candies, passersby wanted the candy-apple-red candy apples instead.
Candy apples became fashionable to give out to trick-or-treaters during Hallowe’en from the early 1900s until the 1960s, when rumours of razor blades and needles, and the general unsanitary practice of it all, ended their popularity.
Today, Whitbee has brought candy apples back into the spotlight as the third treat to find in the hunt.
The koalas will like this one!

They're easier to eat if you take a knife and slice them into pieces. That's what I've always done. It's not as messy that way. 😋🍎💗
You’re suppose to hold it by the stick and shove the apple in your face; meanwhile, the apple falls off the stick and rolls under the couch. You are not practicing proper candy apple etiquette.

<sigh> Three days in and I just now saw the comment that I have to be on a desktop machine to play the hunt. I have perused dozens of pages - on my trusty iPhone - without spotting a candy corn, skull, or apple. Feeling foolish, but a little glad I haven’t just missed them all. 🤓

Lol. The apple comes off the stick when you try to bite it, because the candy part sticks to your teeth with your mouth wide open, while trying to bite the apple ! 🤣 🍎🤣🍎🤣🍎🤣🍎

Today is the last day to collect Candy for Whitbee’s Candy Bash VIII: Into the Dark. As a reminder, candy corn will be the first item to find in the Scavenger Hunt.
So gather as much candy corn in DragonVale and on the Forum as you can within the next 24 hours. Don’t let any get away! G’luck!
I didn’t realize there was a scavenger hunt thread and posted on the Candy Bash thread. This scavenger hunt is BRILLIANT and I love it so much! THANK YOU!!
The Detector is so smart and so cool. It helps A LOT! I would’ve given up by now (and I just started playing) without it. But I’ll go look for candy on more pages since it’ll let me know.
I really hope you’ll do this again. I was busy with RL so I didn’t get a chance to play much but if you’re thinking about doing another one, you have my vote! I also liked how everyone changed their avatar lol! HOW FUN! A scavenger hunt and costumes!!
And I love this little ghost trying to catch the candy corn lol!
I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween and Dias de los Muertos! 🎃💀
Apparently I have no energy to do any actual work, but when it comes to collecting virtual candy my stamina is remarkable. This is big fun and I'm having a great time playing. Thanks for this Adlerist, you are awesome!!

Completely agree cynmed! I've stayed up waaaaay to late the last few nights trying to get up the list.

You can play on a mobile phone too. In the lower right corner of the page click Desktop.
I much prefer viewing the Forum in desktop on a mobile. Most features on the Forum from liking posts to the mini profile to the dragon folder icons do not show on the stripped down mobile version.

The origins of the Horn of Plenty, or cornucopia, can be found in Greek mythology. As a baby, Zeus was hidden from his father, Cronos, who had a bad habit of devouring his children. Zeus was kept in a cave with the goat Amalthea, who nurtured him. One day, not realising his super strength, Zeus accidentally broke off her horn, which then had the power to provide food without end. What a lovely family.
Whitbee is removing the spooky atmosphere and packing up Hallowe’en. But do not feel down, in anticipation of Thanksgiving, he has left a harvest of cornucopias to quell your appetite until next year.
Today is the last day to add to your trick-or-treat bag. And it is a half day! Cornucopia collection ends at 8.00 PM MDT / 3.00 AM CET, or 12 hours after DV’s daily reset.
G’luck to all scavenger hunters and thank you so much for playing. You made this Hallowe’en a real treat!
