PSA: Big News Regarding the Habitat Prices and Double Days!
It appears there’s a significant drop in price to all the habitats, except the giant Olympus and giant Treasure habitats. At the beginning of the Pirates in Paradise II event, Deca had inflated the price for these habitats to 300 gems. Based on much feedback from the DV communities, it’s now at 150 gems. It may not be as low as before, but the reduction in all the other habitats should compensate.
Once the changes are in the game and confirmed, I will list all the new habitat prices.
Thank you Deca Games for responding to the players’ feedback and for the four extra Double Days in this event. Many cheers!

Complete List of New Habitat Prices
On 29 June 2022, the habitat prices were updated in the game. Please be aware, regular habitats were changed to 35 gems, not 30 gems, and large habitats changed to 75 gems not 70 gems. Remember, if you’re upgrading a habitat, the habitat price is the same as the upgrade, so these are also the new upgrade costs. I included the original gem prices and the new gem prices so you can compare.
As you can see, the giant Olympus and giant Treasure habitats were the only ones that had a price rise. There’s a significant decrease in all the other habitats. This should be immensely beneficial for new players who have not acquired a stash of gems. I believe these changes are fair and absorb the inflation of the giant Olympus and Treasure habitats. Hopefully, all players will also agree. Thank you to the DV Team, including RecallDoro and VibeLily, for listening to the players and the Game Reps, and coming to this solution. And many thanks to all the players who spoke out and expressed their concerns.
NOTE: Unless Deca starts to add the habitats listed below to the standard Market during Dragon’s Week, these habitats will never be purchasable with gems, so their price reduction will only be noticed if the player upgrades the habitat (except Olympus Reward, regular Paradise, regular Melody, Monolith Reward, Snowflake Reward, and Spooky, which are not obtained from an upgrade — so players will never see the gem price).

Ah? We're about to get a chatting feature? Maybe...?
I'm not sure what I think about that. That's a multiplayer element, right, but I can't see... guilds or trade in dragon vale.
The nearest we could have to trade with a chatting feature is requests for one player to put a dragon in coop. Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself and it's really only an extended profile.
Deca’s new player profile feature is now in the game!
PROFILE INSTRUCTIONS
To access it, click the portal of Island #1 or the gold frame in the upper left corner of the screen. The player profile will open. Tap the grey icon square to choose your favourite dragon.
A list of dragons similar to the 'All' list in the Dragonarium will open. Select your dragon, and on its profile, tap the heart at the bottom of the screen. The heart will turn green.
The adult version of the dragon’s icon image will show on your profile.
To check and see if your friends are online or what dragon they have in the co-op, open the Social menu. Under the Friends tab, click your friend’s dragon avatar, and their online status will display (or you can visit their park and click on their profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen).

If the player has recently played, the online indicator will be yellow.
SIGNBOARD INSTRUCTIONS
To change the text on the signboard, tap the portal on Island #1. Select Edit Sign.
Type your sign message
We’ve asked Deca several questions:
1. How long does it take for the online indicator to turn grey? 2. Can the online indicator be placed directly on the Friends list, so it’s not necessary to click on every player’s dragon avatar? 3. Currently, the character limitation on the sign is only 10 characters. Can this be increased with a smaller font? 4. Since the message on the portal signboard is visible to friends, will a profanity filter be installed?
When we receive the answers, I’ll let everyone know.

5. Add a co-op request feature to the profile, so players can advertise the dragon they need. 6. Allow players to disable / hide the portal signboard if it doesn’t match the decorations on their island. 7. Change the font on the portal sign. It’s too large and bold, and the bright white text pops too much. 8. Allow players to click on their friend’s dragon avatar in both the Friends and Gifts tabs to view their profiles. 9. Bring the entire concept of Lisgie’s request into the game: on the Friends list, provide a timestamp or how many hours / days since our friends have played DV, so we can easily see who is inactive (we’re halfway there with the online indicator). 10. Add in-game instructions on how to view a friend’s profile from the Social menu. 11. Allow more emojis on the signboard.

We’ve heard back from Deca regarding the above questions and feedback. Some of the requests should be easy to include in upcoming versions of the feature. But right now, there’s no timeline on when they’ll be implemented.
If players spot any profanity on the portal signboard, for now you can contact support, and they’ll change the text to a random name, notify the player, and if the player continues with the portal profanity, short sanctions could follow.

Some quick first impressions about the new Player Profile feature.
• I like being able to select a Favourite Dragon so we can now have two dragons associated with our profile: one for the avatar and another for our favourite. There are so many dragons in the game that I love, limiting it to just one was always difficult. Since the avatar dragon is closely associated with my username, I plan on switching out my Favourite Dragon on a regular basis so all my favourites will have a moment to shine.
• The ability to change the signage at the portal is very clever.
• Seeing what our friends have in their co-op by clicking on their avatar will be very convenient.
• For me, the online indicator is the top addition to the profile feature. One of the requests made by lisgie on the Dear Deca thread, was to be able to see how long it had been since our friends last played DV. This somewhat addresses that feature request.
Once we know when the online indicator will turn grey, we’ll generally be able to tell how frequently a player opens DV, if a player is not very active, or if the player is inactive.
Overall, I really like the new player profiles!

The Player Profile is indeed a neat feature, although I have not had time to tinker with it yet. adlerist, thanks for the reminder of switching up the favorite dragon. 😃..My first thought when I saw that was: which one should I pick? 🥺😳🤔…Now I don’t need to worry… I do have a tiny request of DECA if possible: can we use emojis for the signboard? I tried but seems like it won’t allow that. Thanks. 🙏🙏
Does anyone know if you can deactive the banner or move it to another island? My first is a pure cold themed island and it doesn't really look right there

Cecilia, Adlerist posted instructions and pics on how to access the sign. If you tap the portal on the first island it will let you edit the sign.
The new player profiles are a really nice addition. I like that you can check what your friend has in co-op. Occasionally I have sped up a breed in co-op wanting to use the same dragons again, only to find my friend has a different dragon. Now I can check the the dragon is still there before using gems.
I can't choose a favourite dragon either. I might choose my favourite dragon from an event and change it frequently. 😊 It is possible to chose a dragon that you don't own as your favourite. You can green-heart it through the event market but not the Dragonarium. 💚 Maybe if I make Aquarian my favourite, it will more willing to come to my park. 😂
