The mid-size Zodiac fits in the park better, for sure! We are going to need to have the Zodiac habitat limit increased if we are going to have room for the next 6 Zodiac dragons! With another island or two to hold them. These would look so good on an oversized island. (Yes, that’s a hint and a polite request!)
The large Zodiac habitat has a limit of 4 and can house 4 dragons, so that should fit one of each Zodiac dragon. But I imagine Deca will raise the limit in the future so players can display twins and traited versions as well.
I like the new habitats. I’m planning on having at least one of each size. But since there’s no land in the Vale, I won’t be able to purchase more than one Giant Zodiac.
Gargantuan-sized islands have already been requested! 😊 We desperately need more real estate. It’s very frustrating to have a land shortage for two years.
You want some of my real estate? I have loads of spare islands just sitting around that I don't have any use for at the moment. 😊💙
I theoretically have 2 empty islands, but I might sacrifice one to never have to worry about Christmas.
I'd still love some real estate. My gigantic island is just made out of paradise habitats. The overgrown is pedestals, buildings, omnitats, storage space just in case, all together with bahamut and tiamat and their habitats. Bahamut has the blue/medium melody ones, tiamat got the omnitats.
There's so many designs you can't pull off on normal islands because they're that tiny bit too small. Also I... I've placed them just about everywhere over the years, but I just never like my omnitat placement. It's time for them to be put in jail (another giant island). I'd love to have one free just for tiamat, bahamut and whatever habitat configurations need more space than what's allowed.
Just want to be sure I haven't missed it - we have one more rate a dragon - Taurian - right?
Yes! I just finished Taurian’s RAD thread and the poll. Will be posting soon…

But you purposefully kept your park small to prevent crashes because you had a device with less than 4GB RAM. So after you upgraded to a device with more RAM, it’s not too surprising that you purchased a lot of islands and haven’t filled them yet.
Of course new players, returning players, and players who do not have all the decorations and dragons, or a desire to display them, will have land. But for players who fall in one or more of the following categories: playing DV for 11 years, have all 732 dragons, collect 3-4 versions of each dragon, have massive pedestal collections, have DC farms, have all the decorations, decorate their islands so it’s aesthetically pleasing — they’re experiencing an island shortage.
Every player has their own goals and is at a different place in the game; that’s the beauty of DV. So some players will have space and others do not. But the land problem is not something players imagined. From March 2020 - March 2021, there were zero Expansion Extravaganzas. Since then, every EE has only had a single island, with the exception of one (Deca accidentally leaked the EE contents a couple days early; they quickly added another island so there would be something new). By releasing no islands and/or less islands every year, and increasing the number of dragons and decorations, we are naturally at a constant lack of real estate.

Another couple of perspectives on The Great Space Shortage...
My park is completely full. It's almost entirely habitats, while making sure that I also have 1 of each pedestal and at least 1 of each decoration. I have almost no "decoration for decoration's sake." I like to have 1 adult and 1 baby of each dragon, with the regular 2 element and golden hybrids excepted who only get 1 of each. With my current dragon backlog, I could easily fill another couple of islands and still be back to having no free space again.
I have 86 habitats in my storage tower and the ability to purchase 78 more in the market if I wanted to. So clearly, the number of available habitats and the space to put them is way out of whack.
I don't have the numbers, but I'd be very curious to see how many dragons DECA has added to the game and the number of additional habitats they've given us compared to the number of islands they've given us. I'm quite certain the disparity would be quite evident there as well.

Oh, yeah. The habitat vs island limit is absurd. It took it as an opportunity to spend every empty slot on regular rainbow habitats. However, lag is a thing, so they're almost all sold now.
Probably won't get ariesian cloned and subsequently no cansian overall, but I got two unowned epics from eggs of mystery. I'll take it. Though I should stop buying eggs until the event is over. Then my chances will only have taken a slight hit

The habitat limit was definitely thrown out of gear when Deca raised the park level from 140 to 165 last year. After level 125, each park level provides three additional habitats. In 2021, The Game Reps asked Deca to raise the park level from 140 to 150 and add 4-5 islands to maintain this balance, but Deca only added two islands and raised the park level to 165 (it was supposed to be level 150, but a bug leaked the park levels early, so they upped it to 165). As a result, we were allowed more habitats than we could possibly place on 32 islands. Then Deca raised the park level again to 170 with the next EE and only added one island. So now, we’re allowed 280 habitats, but only have 33 islands. Players will have difficulty fitting 280 habitats on 33 islands (8.5 habitats per island), especially since we have many reward habitats that don’t count against the habitat limit.
Therefore, there’s no reason for players to pay for additional habitat slots anymore. I remember spending gems years ago, because I wanted / needed more habitats. I purchased 5 extra slots. Today, players no longer need to do this. If you reached your park level’s habitat cap and want more, simply level up your park by feeding a traited dragon.
The gargantuan-sized islands have been critical in helping with the lack of standard islands. And I believe more of them is the best, and at this point, the only way to resolve the land crisis.

adlerist thank you so much for the twin GRAVITY! I was not notified via the game so I’m super thankful you posted about it. Having said that, we lost power and internet for a few days so that maybe certainly a factor. Anywho gems and treats coming to you at the reset. And THANK YOU again! Koala!

Aaaand, i note they still haven’t raised the dragon limit for Earth habitats to match the level for other element habitats... ever given a reason why?

That’s not a glitch, that’s correct. You can have 4 Zodiac habitats total. So if you buy two, regardless of the size, you can buy two more.

No reason given, although this was Backflip’s doing, so the question really falls to them.
Bloodstone proposed a concept to upgrade the primary habitats. Hopefully, it’ll be implemented or something similar, so more dragons can be displayed.

I was buying a cansian dragon and noticed the ability to mark the dragon in the marketplace as my favorite dragon. Did this mean I could use it as a favorite dragon for friends without buying it

I tested this. Your favourite dragon is not identical to your coop dragon.

If you green-heart a dragon, it will change it to your favourite dragon on the new player profile. Blue-hearting a dragon will make it available in the co-op. You can favourite (green-heart) a dragon from the event market or standard market, before you own it.

Yes, I did keep my park small for a while because I was I told by a person on this forum that the game becomes unplayable once a certain level is reached. So it was more about me not doing anything that would level up my park. I went a very long time without feeding my dragons or growing treats, which is something I can do now because I have a better device.
But I haven't actually purchased a bunch of islands since obtaining a better device. I've been feeding and leveling up my dragons, but that's about it. I buy islands as needed. Usually one every couple of months, which is why I still have all those sitting around that I haven't purchased. I don't understand the desire to obtain all the decorations, or collect twins and traits, or collect one of every dragon, or the desire to get a dragon in every stage from baby to adult then have all of them on display. Even when I had a device with less RAM, I never thought about those things. I actually bred two traited Stygian in the Rift during this event and released both of them because I already have one and I don't collect traited dragons (I know somebody out there is going to hate me for that).
Why do people do that? I'm honestly curious as to why some players feel the need to have so much. Seriously, I'd love to hear what people have to say, though probably not in this topic because it's an event topic and that might be better suited for the regular game topic. 😊💙 I have a genuine curiosity to hear people out and listen to what they have to say because it's something I don't understand. I see people who absolutely must collect traited dragons and twins, while I'm in my own little corner like dude, it's not a big deal. Those things don't matter to me. They aren't important. Having your Dragonarium breathing fire isn't important to me. Twin Weekend isn't important to me. None of that is. Even when I'm playing Animal Crossing, it's the same thing. No, I don't want every single furniture item to complete the catalog, or every color variation of every clothing item. But, you know, that's just me. I'm weird. 😋
Maybe people want a goal to work towards to keep them playing and give them something to do. Which is fine. I get that. But for me, I just get whatever looks cute or pretty. If a dragon is ugly and I don't want it, then I don't get it. That's why my park is small, because there's very little that I want. It's not because of how much RAM my device has. It's because I'm not a completionist, because that would mean having a lot of ugly dragons and junky decorations that I don't want to own or look at.
