I used longcicle with reminiscence in the rift because, like adlerist , I needed more rift traits for it and it was already a level 20. Got a traited nature on my fourth try.
Still trying for Nature with a trait. 🤞 I don't have Longcicle with any different traits than Reminiscence, so I'm using Icebound. There are quite a few dragons with cold, water and air elements, so providing you have them levelled up, you could use them as well. 😊
lisgie I use my wish list to identify missing rift dragons, it works beautifully for this!
I'm not entirely sure how this is related to the original comment.
Argh! Picked up completely the wrong thread sorry' I meant to quote @ninjakiwi on her comment about how difficult it was to keep track of missing trained dragons (page 11 or 12 I think. really sorry for any confusion caused!
Remember yesterday when I mentioned that I wanted to re-create a fan representation of what Nature may have looked like before it moved? Well, I did it.
It took a couple of hours to draw it on paper (I can't design something digitally for the life of me). I haven't given it any color yet, but here's how it turned out.
The little spikes on its back and tail are supposed to be leaves. I figured it would be best as an evolution dragon as it is a restored form of nature.
Is your drawing included in your post? For some reason, I cannot see anything. It is just blank after your written words. 🧐 I am using an iPad Air to view this, so just wondering if the device has anything to do with the drawing not showing? I tried many times..😥🙏🙏

The drawing is in the image. I can see it on my mobile phone, though I am using desktop mode at the moment. Perhaps you could switch over to desktop mode and seeing if that helps?

Chrome is reporting "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()" for the link so possibly a permissions issue which results in a 0x0 image being displayed.

I can’t see the image either in Safari. It was showing shortly after it was posted, but since yesterday, it doesn’t appear on an iPad Pro or an iPhone in Desktop. I just checked Firefox on the iPad Pro, and the image isn’t visible. Sometimes pics don’t appear when players use Google to host their images.
Imgpile, Imgur, and other third party image hosts are a little more reliable and consistent, but you do need to sign-up to use their services.

Due to a potential limit on the number of friends a player can have before issues arise in the game, I will only be able to add Forum members. Thank you, for your understanding, and please consider joining us!

Longsicle is an excellent choice, Lisgie! I wish I could’ve borrowed your brain earlier this week and used Longsicle, because I’m missing a lot of its traits.
I did breed a dark traited Nature. So I’m not as salty about breeding an untraited version earlier. It would just be so nice if we could purchase a trait at the Rift Breeding Cave, so we don’t have to breed the same dragon over and over and over again to get the trait.

Yes, I noticed this too. There’s an overabundance of limited dragons with the elements cold, water, and air: Flurry, Icebound, Longcicle, Chaiko, Igluit, and Nature (Lyuba also fits, but it has the earth element). The list grows with each winter event.
I think Deca can give the other elements some recognition and let these three rest for a while.

You're right, the cold, water and air combo is pretty common now.
I would like to see more light or metal Christmas dragons, personally.

So I don't know where else to put this, I guess I could use dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/thread/46/dragonvale-tips-strategies-updates-help but it doesn't look like that's being used much anymore and the Chatterbox is taken up by the FIND THE competition, and the member creativity post seems to be more for actual original content rather than just... dragon family trees 😂
About a month and a half ago I started creating www.familyecho.com/?p=START&c=zb32txs04k&f=653536251579829870 for some dragons I needed, but then I realised they were related to more dragons I needed, and those ones related to even more... By the time I'd got all of them I'd got about half the dragons in-game so I decided I may as well finish it. [Edit: it looks like Family Echo is having some technical issues atm or something because I tried to go onto the tree and it says it's not working. Hopefully no data's been lost! 🤞😟)
I just thought it might be helpful for someone, especially if they're a newer player who wants to plan ahead to dragons they want to get (so they can try for the permanent dragons required for them). I know you can look up combos online but I've never seen them all in one place before besides the Encyclopedia Dracontine and dragonvale-tips.proboards.com/thread/1427/locked-breeding-combos-dragons-needed, and I personally find the family tree layout easier to navigate.
Please let me know if it helps anyone, and if there are any mistakes you happen to notice
The family tree on the link will update as I update it on my Family Echo account, so you won't need a new one for every new dragon.
If you want to use it: - Go to options and tick name, middle name, nickname, title + suffix and surname to make sure you can see all the information. Set parents to 15 gens and children/other to 1/no gens. (This means you'll be able to see every previous dragon and base element required for the one you want while minimising how many unrelated dragons you see; obviously you can change the settings if you want to see what dragons a dragon is required for rather than/as well as what is required for it.) - 'Female'/pink = dragons with at least one specific dragon required to get them (this includes evolution dragons since their base is specific), 'Male'/blue = dragons with no specific dragons, 'Other'/white = not a dragon (such as elements or categories), or the primaries/legendaries etc.. NOTE: Some dragons have combos that are not the same as those given in-game; this is because the in-game combos include redundant elements. For example, Amalgamate's in-game combo is Bone + earth + fire + dark, but because Bone is earth + fire, you only need Bone + dark. In these cases, the parents on the tree are the minimum requirement (so on the tree, Amalgamate's parents are Bone and Dark Element) but next to their name in brackets will be their full in-game requirement. You don't need to worry about the full requirement, it's just there to highlight when the family tree's combo is different to the in-game one.
(Also if this is better suited for another thread please tell me )
This sounds like a really interesting project @metaphoricalrobin . The link isn't working for me, so I can't see exactly what you have done.
I will move your original post to the Tips and Strategies board as it seems to be more tips and strategies than event related. That thread does still get used, but not as often as the event thread. If I leave your post here, it will get lost in the event thread. 😊

The link should be working now
It was interesting to make albeit a lot of work. I discovered some fun facts while making it, like the fact that Combustion + Apex = Chuck is the only combo that requires at least one specific dragon which isn't related to the rest of those combos, either by specific dragons or elements. I.e. Combustion, Apex and Chuck are not required for any other dragons and the elements required for Combustion and Apex are not the minimum requirements for any other dragon, and this is the only combo with at least one required dragon where this is the case (besides Air being Fire dragon + Water dragon, and then the Ghostlies). So all other combos with required dragons, including evolutions, are related to each other in some way, even if only by the same minimum elements requirement.
Also, I'm pretty sure the only trait that isn't required in a Rift-exclusive combo is metal. Kinda hoping that gets added at some point now so that it can be complete
'Zumi, have I told you about the winter that lasted all year? It snowed and snowed, and never stopped long enough to melt'. Zumi looked at Lumi with great interest, 'Do you think it will snow forever this year?' Lumi opened the window, 'We can check. If GREENGE is atop the Everlong Hill, snow will cease and allow the green of tomorrow and the heat of cactus in the air'. Lumi and Zumi leaned out the window with a telescope to their eye. Through the windy snow, a green figure, angry at the cold, was fiercely looming on the hill. Lumi and Zumi gasped and fell down. Greenge was staring right back at them.
By the prickly-pear of my thumbs, the Greenge this way comes! Greenge is in the co-op; koala cactus to all!

Anyone who hasn’t updated to DV version 4.27.4 will be forced to update. The game won’t open unless you’ve updated.
