With the low breeding rates given (3% and 1%), my luck today in Rift seems almost magical. My first try with Darkarm+Chitin resulted in a Fire-traited Quad Leap! And then my very next try gave me an untraited Quad Leap! How crazy is this??? Am i the luckiest ‘Valer today? Should I rush out and buy lottery tickets? Hoping my koalas spread to you all!

Your luck is in Insane Valley — absolutely unreal! Plus, you bred a twin Shelly! Thank you so very much!!
Please tell me you purchased a dozen lottery tickets. 🐨🍀🐨🍀🐨

I continued trying for Nubis since it meets the requirements for QYL - no QYL yet but I did get a traited Nubis! This also means I won't have to buy any returning dragons, since if I don't breed Efreet I'll just get it with the gift. It looks like this event won't be too stressful for me, which I'm really glad about since it's probably going to be my last one ever, at least until (and if) Deca changes the structure of events to something I'd find new and interesting again.
The breeding hint is empty, so here’s the pop-up description of the breeding hint.
Take a quadruple leap into the Deepest Depths with the watery and long-awaited Quadruple Leap Year dragon!
Quadruple Leap Year is in the co-op with four times the splashy fun! Koala quad to all!
Breeding hint: any four elements
Incubation time: 20 hours
Contributing elements: all ten elements
Habitats: Rainbow, water, dark
Breeding percentages: breeding hint 3% (if you don’t own it) 1% (if you own it); co-op clone 1%
Cloning dragons:
Elders • any Elder dragon
Hybrids • any hybrid
PRO TIP: If you collect traited dragons, be sure to breed your Quad dragon in the Rift first since the breeding percentage is lower once you own the dragon. You can always buy the dragon untraited or wish for it, but the only way to obtain a traited version is to breed it at the Rift Breeding Cave.
For possible breeding combos, I'm using Darkarm + Chitin to obtain EC from the long breeding fails of the dark and metal dragons. Apocalypse and the Rift count as an element, so you don't need four primary elements, but the breeding percentage will still be 3%.
Thanks for the Pro Tips! I went with your suggestion for Darkarm and Chitin since I’m not actively breeding for anything else. No luck yet. I got two DRs instead, but that feels promising. Maybe tomorrow! First impression is that I love that he’s event themed! It would have been weird to have a limited that wasn’t. I also like his colours. Will reserve other judgment until I watch him in a park (preferably mine! )
I’m kinda super disappointed with the QLY Dragon. It’s sad that it doesn’t match the other 3’s design motifs and produces less DC than even a single Leap Year Dragon. I’m hoping they’ll redesign it like they’ve done with the Frons Dragon among others and hopefully raise its DC production rate to be higher than its predecessors. I also don’t like that it’s part Water and Dark element 🤷♂️ Just a huge disappointment to me all around. Sorry to be negative.
Thanks for the Pro Tip, adlerist. I bred Quad Leap on the first attempt in the rift using Apocalypse and Lightning - untraited, of course, but I’m not going to complain (this time).
Can we ask Deca to increase the Giant Rainbow Habitat capacity to four dragons so all four Leap Year dragons can be displayed in the same habitat?
Finally, I know Magic is used to keep things running smoothly in DV, but how much magic must it take to cram an Aquarium Habitat into the Storage Tower?!?!?
Submerged (the event’s new Twilight Tower theme) has changed from daytime to nighttime!
We have now dived into the Deepest Depths, beyond the reaches of the sun
Many thanks to the DV Team for making this deep sea adjustment. Greatly appreciated!
Was it changed because it isn’t sunny at the bottom of the sea, or is there some other reason that I’ve missed?
Submerged is very dark. It’s darker than the other Deca night themes, so it was unusual to have it categorised as daytime.
But yes, you’re correct. I asked Deca to change Submerged to night because by definition 'deep sea' or the Deepest Depths is defined as the ocean depth where light diminishes and there is no sunlight. As a result, these magnificent and mysterious creatures have evolved with tubular eyes and bioluminescence. A day theme seemed out of place and a bit tragic for the deep ocean dragons.
Very grateful that Deca made the change. I love the deep sea and the life that lurks in the darkest waters.

adlerist should sailback’s fin be sold for (EC) doubloons? I have two and was waiting to sell one until I saw it in an event. It shows selling for DC right now. Thank you!
Oh wait! Bright Wild Nights Spellforms do not sell for event currency. They’re too expensive, so selling them would result in a lot of EC. They’re different from the other enhancement pieces because they’re one piece. Players do not have to collect various costume parts. As a result, they cost more and are worth more. If evolve decos and enhancement pieces sell for 10,000 DC / 50 EC, then BWN Spellforms would sell for 50,000 DC / 250 EC. 250 is a lot, so Backflip (and now Deca) do not allow the EC exchange.

It's the same kind of magic that Mary Poppin's bag has. 👜 😉

Thanks for the pro tip about the breeding percentage adlerist . I bred a Quad Leap Year in the rift this morning - without a trait. I turned it into a pedestal; I nearly cried. 😢
Day 2 of no QLY. I feel like the only one. Went through four 20k breeds in the Rift today (2 yest) and back to breeding my Tiens together in my normal caves in the hopes of at least sitting on a normal one in the nest. Having to make my own luck this event it seems. And here I actually like the dude! Come live in my park, friend!

It does seem like everyone has bred Quad Leap Year, but you are not the only one. Quad Leap Year hasn't made an appearance in my main park either. I have been focused on breeding him in the rift as I will buy a normal one if I can't get a traited version. With the percentage dropping once you own one, I want a traited one before trying too hard in the Vale. I do have one cave in the Vale trying for him, but if the icon trick shows I'm successful it will sit there until I get a rift version. I don't think the game registers that you've bred one until it is in the nest.

I hadn’t even considered it would count sitting in the nest unhatched. Oh dear. Well, nothing so far anyway. If I get it in a cave, I’ll do my best to avoid the nest. Yikes. I’d like a traited one first too. I’ll go the slow twin->twin traited if I have to, but I’d rather not. Hopefully he shows up soon!

If you don’t want a traited Quadruple Leap Year, or prefer an untraited version, Vibe + Plant is the best combo in the Vale. Vibe has two epic elements and two primary elements (plant and lightning). So the breeding fails are pretty short, just the plant/lightning dragons and, of course, the rainbow fails.
All of the Bright Wild Nights enhancement dragons (Ruckus, Elegant, Dazzle, Razzle, Monte, Sailback, Toco, and Vibe) are ideal to breed the Quad in the Vale because they have sun, moon, and two primary elements. Just breed them with a matching elder primary dragon.
My alt park bred Quad with Vibe + Plant at the co-op, but I converted it into a pedestal because it hasn’t bred a traited Quad in the Rift yet.

Technically, the game knows if you bred the dragon at the breeding cave, because the dragon shows in the icon trick.
But, I think you have to hatch the dragon for the game to consider it owned, thereby reducing the percentage to 1%. After it’s hatched, it shows in the Dragonarium.
