🐉 Quad Leap Year and his pedestal will be leaving at Thursday's reset. 🐉
He has mixed feelings about leaving; some sadness but also relief. Forum folk have been lovely, welcoming and kind while others have made him feel an outcast because he doesn't look like his siblings. He is off to explore the four corners of the earth and experience the four seasons. If he's not back before, he'll see you in four years. 🐉
• The capacity of the Aquarium has been increased to nine dragons • Timers on the event island are now visible and larger • Sunstruck dragon and its pedestal have been added to the Pearly tier of the event market

I’m off to the whine lounge. Breeding in the rift every day through to 20k and still no QLY. I have a feeling this event isn’t going to be a great one for me, I’m missing too many rifted parents and if my luck with QLY continues on with the other limiteds I won’t get all event dragons.

Oh perfect! 9 was the exact number of dragons I planned on putting in an Aquarium Habitat! Of course that’ll probably change tomorrow but for now I can pretend it all worked out…
This new dragon is impossible to get rifted!! Just torched 100K etherium in both parks each and lo and behold, NOTHING. I’ve tried this entire time with no success. I think I may have had better luck trying to get the dark matter dragon rifted without actually using one (FYI the dark matter dragon is not available right now). This dragon is impossible to get!!! Absolute bull. And I know I’m not the only player who has tried and gotten the same dragon 8 times in a row. Thanks DECA 😡🤬

Say I'm trying to breed a Crawler Dragon in the Rift. Its breeding combo is Manomano + water + dark. Since the Manomano Dragon already has the water and dark elements it doesn't matter what you breed with it will always have a chance at producing a Crawler Dragon. Normally, in the park I would breed it with an elder that matches its elements, but no elders in the Rift match that criteria. Plugging the Dargon Dragon and the Manomano Dragon into the Compendium's breeding simulator shows that the extra fire element doesn't reduce the Crawler Dragon's breeding chance at all. Since it's in the Rift, it's not increasing the average breed time either. Is it worth it to breed the Manomano Dragon with the Dargon Dragon for that extra bump from elder odds, or is it safer to just breed with an Ooze Dragon or something?

You definitely can breed Crawler with Manomano + Dargon, because any time elements are repeated in an in-game combo, they don't actually have to be repeated in whatever you use.
Odds-wise, from what I've experienced looking at odds on the Compendium, odds only start decreasing at 5+ elements in the combo, so up to 4 elements, it's rare for odds to decrease. So, if your Dargon is elder, I'd suggest using it. It adds quite a few results including itself and all of the currently available any-four-elements dragons, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't decrease the odds for Crawler at all. The Compendium certainly has the same odds for Manomano + Ooze or + Dargon.

. I’m not mentioning any spoiler dragon, but I suspect anyone within a mile of my house just heard my scream of frustration. 😱

Well that improves things a little bit for me, even if I have wasted a fair bit of time trying for the now not needed parents.
I’ve just managed a QLY in my park, and possibly a second straight after, but still nothing in my rift yet. I still have a few breed attempts left before I hit my usual rift limit for the day. Rifted QLY is proving as difficult in the rift for me as LoveyDovey was. Perhaps QLY will also follow LoveyDovey’s lead and relent in the last few hours and grace my rift with its presence.

ColdSoup, Dragonglow, IrvineDreams, Malachiet, Jazz, Sessy, and Svenake are the treasure at the end of the Leap Year rainbow!
Thank you so much very much, svenake, sessy, jazzy, Malachiet, irvinedreams, dragonglow, and ColdSoup! Nothing says Quadruple Rainbow in July like twins. I have delivered glowing gems and leap year treats in great appreciation (although for some of you, it has been days since you sent the twin and received gem/treats — apologies for the delay!). Many cheers!
If anybody sent a twin of a new event dragon and didn’t receive gems and treats, please let me know. Thank you!

Well whaddya know? I was unaware that there were anyElder Rift dragons in the game! Lo and behold, I just took a look at my level 20 Rift Dargon and he can be leveled up to Elder for 50,000 Etherium. What a revelation! I can’t believe it never occurred to me that he could be made an Elder. Well, that has certainly been rectified now!
I’m assuming there aren’t any other Elder Rift dragons, since none of the other primary element Rift dragons can be made Elders. But please correct me if I’m wrong! Geez, you play a game for this many years and you think you know everything…

Unfortunately, no. Hopefully one day DECA will bestow elder forms upon the Rift primaries, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Thanks! This is what I thought but there was some aspect of my paranoid brain thinking if I were to include Dargon the combo would all of a sudden become sub-optimal.
Also, Manomano + anything in the Rift would still add all of the any-four-elements dragons because of the rift element. So Dargon adds even less than that.
I had no idea Dargon could become an elder! Thank you for posting info!
I agree with greggerman, ”Geez, you play a game for this many years and you think you know everything…”
😂😂😂
In case you didn't know, the Ghostly Primaries can also become elders.
Currently, it's all 15 dragons that only have one shown primary element on their profile (when non-traited). Since Dargon is the only one of those 15 which can be traited, it's the only dragon that can be a traited elder.
The wondrous and imaginative Neovally created the Sipho Dragon for Deca Games’ Depths of the Ocean Dragons Community Design Contest. Not only did Sipho capture our hearts and memories, but it is so perfect that Deca didn’t even rename the dragon. This is the first time a player-designed dragon has retained its original name. No need to change perfect!
Sipho is in the co-op with friends and family. Koalasipho to all!
Breeding hint: BUBBLE + TIDAL

All this talk about ELEGANT in the posts has caused me to abandon my efforts for Aurum - and join you all in trying for Elegant. I need a traited version and a Twin! I’ve had koala in Rift lately and just got a traited Aiffa earlier today, so I think I’m up for The Elegant Challenge!
I am struuuuuggling with the Rift dragons since I don't have a sun & moon traited combo. I'm tying for the DELICIA in my park and the SPECTRAPOD in my rift. Somehow managed to get an EXANDREW and a GOLD with Chromacorn + Kampos.
Also trying for the CANSIAN and PISCEIAN dragons so my Saggitarius dragon can have a friend in his Zodiac habitat!
Koalas, hear my prayers!!
But I am honored to say that I stumbled upon a surprise cold-traited QLY and it looks beautiful <3 I send all the luck to those still waiting for their QLY!
Looking for friends on Dragonvale! Co-op Breeding?: Yes! Gem Gifting?: Of Course! Dragonvale ID: MareBare#9751

If you value your sanity, I would give up trying to breed the spectrapod and go ahead and buy it. It comes with a .085% chance rate, making it one of, if not the most difficult to breed in the game. I foolishly wasted over a month trying to breed one last year before accepting my fate.
Don’t forget to vote at the Poll Plaza for the Valentine’s event theme!
A quick note about the images that were used for the poll. These are not pictures of the event loading screen, nor do they accurately represent the Valentine’s themes. They are AI images that are supposed to present the idea, but the content and art shown will not be in the game. In addition to the obvious deep concerns about AI, the poll pictures are also distorting the themes. The reps have been in a long discussion about AI images with Deca all morning. Hopefully, it will not be used in the future, and polls will only have text if there isn’t time for the Deca artists to create something.
