My GCID is used all over the web as my personal ID (Facebook, almost all message boards, Twitter, et. al.), as this username is never taken. My last name is Knutson (for you non-Scandinavians, pronounced Ka-NOOT-son).
I have 4 younger brothers. When #2 was in high school he picked up the nick name Knuter (pronounced NEW-ter). When #3 showed up, he looked so much like #2 he was called 'Little Knuter'.
By the time #4 showed up, he became Little Knuter, #3 became Knuter, #2 became Big Knuter, and me, living in France at the time, became Euro Knuter.
To fill out the story, #5 became 'sporto.' =)
Welcome aboard euroknuter! And thanks for the pronunciation instructions; I would've been pronouncing it wrong in my head otherwise! Love the story. I guess Euro Knuter sounds better than Old Knuter.
old Knuter... lol, if you'd have asked young me I would have told you that I am WAAAAY old now! Thanks for the welcome!!
iOS GCID EuroKnuter Friends ALWAYS welcome, but I'm full for GT buddies =) Rockin' an ElektronX Jet Icon!

Good to know they finally stopped 'knuter'ing your brothers.

Mine originated with a mixed-media self-portrait conceived 40 years ago - an avatar before avatars were cool.
Picture a black velvet pregnant manta ray streaming golden threads.
It references Me (a woman), Man Ray (an avant garde artist, male), Rae (my middle name, which I have always used even though, or because, it was pretty odd in those days), manta ray (a floating creature), mantra (TM in the AM and the PM), and pregnant with ideas (still!).
Thanks for asking

POTM because that is awesome
Agreed.
No longer active on DragonVale! *briefly back online*
LemmyLoop is my universal username. If you're on some other website and you find another LemmyLoop it is probably me.
That being said, LemmyLoop is really short for Lemniscate Loop. I knew I would get tired of typing in Lemniscate so I shortened it to Lemmy. For those of you who don't know, a lemniscate is what you call the shape of the infinity symbol! I have a thing for infinity and time, so you can imagine how excited I was about Kairos. His perch is covered in lemniscates, and he spits infinity symbols.
The loop is a reference to various things, but when I first brought the name into existence it was for my craft blog. The blog heavily features my knittingcrochet projects, so I thought loop would be fitting. They are both basically a series of intricate loops.
So... I guess my GCID kind of means... knitting forever.
*like* ...and I like your craft blog too! Especially the crocheted dragons! I'll have to put a sidebar link on my blog so I can find it easily again.
Lemmy, when I first saw your GCID along with the crocheted dragon avatar you had on zetaboards I immediately thought it meant "let me loop," or "I must crochet!"

Dear pristoph, When reading this thread I discover I have'nt answered. I am sorry for that. Was sure I had done so. (Perhaps I have, somewhere else ☺️)
Toppe is prounonced the way it's written. It comes from one of my silly wordgames. Toppes real name is Jakob. His little sister was a very early talker. When she called him she sounded like Jaackopp - with the end of the word like the sound of "top" in english. This is the only secret.
My name Oldsmol is very simple. Old stands for old because I am not very young. Smol is short for latin Smolandius. I come from a part called Småland = in english small land. This is a part of Sweden on the boarder to old Denmark which held several parts of the south of Sweden of today. If you think about the country in regions, this region was divided into very small kingdoms = Små land = Small land. When a person came from Småland to the University in the old days he was mentioned as Smolandius = coming from Småland.
My avatar is not me! ☺️ It's a pic of a sweet old Swedish man who cycled a lot.
This is Småland, b t w.
And pristoph, where does your name come from? In the end there is nearly a Toph[e] ☺️

Thank you Olds. You have such a wonderful way with words. Sorry for not replying earlier. I have been traveling. The sweet old Swedish man in your photos always makes me laugh. I knew it was not you, but was not sure if it was someone I should recognize. My GC ID is "pristoph". I wish I had a great story to go along with it, but I don't. I created it many years ago when my son wanted to play online games and I wanted to make sure what he was playing was appropriate for his age. When it came time to creating a "gaming name", I wanted our names to be "safe", not giving away any information about who we were or where we lived. Pristoph is just a variation of the name Christopher. But Christopher was only a random name that I was thinking of at the time. I know people named Christopher, but it is not significant to me or my family. I would love to create a new GC ID, but that seems to be too much work and I have grown to like Pristoph. Cheers!
