You're right, my maelstrom doesn't do it anymore! But I promise you that my first dragon, which I got with Adlerist last Wednesday, the day before its official release, this little baby dragon was diving into its pond and all you could see was its tail! But I didn't take a picture, so you have the right not to believe me! On the other hand, if someone from the staff would be kind enough to ask Deca to recreate the animation of this baby, I would be very happy! has anyone else seen this animation besides me?

Staff generally don’t converse with Deca, but of course, they can contact support. I talk to Deca as a Game Rep and pass on recommendations from the admins and mods, in the same way that I pass on suggestions from our members.
Deca didn’t change Maelstrom. The DV Team has created several half-dragons. My RAD feedback on them has always been that they’re lacking, especially in the animation because there is no tail. A tail would give the dragons a little more personality and depth. But in the end, half-dragons don’t really fit the aesthetic of the game.

I am convinced my park has its breeding odds all messed up. I bred a Maelstrom in the rift, untraited of course, and have been double parent social breeding since and have had two Conifer fails and a Party fail. Party is less than 1% vs Maelstrom double parent being 20%. I’m sure my park has flipped them. I finally got a 15.12 breed time in my regular cave but given my luck I’m sure it’ll be a Gamma with it’s 0.056% odds
My gifts menu is almost always clear for one primary reason: that red ! is the most obnoxious thing in all DragonVale.

That's bad luck. I've rounded up some koalas I caught lazing by the pool drinking pina coladas and sent them out to parks still needing to breed, clone or twin a Maelstrom. They are on strict instructions to lay off the pina coladas and get to work. 🍹 😉
Maelstrom has spent the week whirling around trying to flush out any evil wizards in the Vale who were not disposing of their used wizarding chemicals responsibly. He didn't find any, all correct procedures have been followed. He's packing his bags in preparation to move to another area to continue his good work.
Maelstrom and its pedestal will be leaving the Vale at reset on Thursday. It's nearly too late to buy or bred one. 🐉
As a newer player, I am struggling with how I should spend my doubloons in the event. Considering I don't want to spend real money on gems, I was thinking I should focus on things I don't anticipate getting in the future such as the monument of the epics, the weather station and the twilight tower. Do you guys think that is a good idea or should I focus on getting new/cool dragons from the event? What should I prioritize as someone who is newer

Personal preference really. If you struggle with some of the weather animations or want a specific time of day for breeding frequently, then the WS and TT are great choices. I have been playing for many years and am finally considering getting the Weather Station and Twilight Tower as a way to use up my EC (I have most event market forms of the dragons this event). I also hold off on most purchases until the last week of EC collection to maximize the amount of time I have to breed any of the dragons in the event market - there's a great list the Forum team puts together on good dragons to breed or buy each event on the first page of this topic if you want some guidance of which dragons to try for. Monument of the Epics and its companion, whose name I cannot remember, give you 5 extra levels each for your Epic Dragons, who cannot go beyond level 10 without them. Something else to keep in mind, the treat cost to feed to the next level gets quite high at those higher levels, but it can be a great choice to get a DC farm going (I have both Monument and Relic, but don't DC farm). All three come back in events pretty regularly, so don't worry about missing them this time and never being able to get them for EC again.

Anyone else having trouble breeding dragons this event? I’m getting frustrated with the repeated 24+ hour results. I wonder if they slow you down after you reach a certain level or if it’s all just confirmation bias. Clearly I’ve been thinking too much about this.
