I saw this the other day when I was out party hatting. It took me awhile to figure out how to get it attached.
I think Nessie got really frustrated and threw a wizard off one of her islands and I just want to say that violence is NOT the answer. Hang in there, what will be will be.
Nessie, did you visit my islands too? Seems all my wizards are missing...thinking someone trained my dragons to eat them. (seriously, from my own personal view, I have exactly zero visitors roaming about, be they wizards or princesses. Perhaps this is the trick to successful rare dragon breeding?)
dang caught out again, the one caught on camera was trying to get in to my park after I entised him away from you with the promise of as many magic golden path as he could run on. I did tell them they weren't all allowed to defect at the same time, but they must be ignoring that

Well now it's two crystals, one tree and one quake on the nests and two $@%*£¥^* crystals breeding. Come on BF I'm too old for this stress. Give Nana a little Peridot. At least quit giving me all those stupid crystals and give me cactus a few times.

So let me get this right. So if you haven't been using both breeding spots then you're out??? That means that anyone that has an olympus is out! Cos as far as I know it's not one of the fails. If that's the case then I would be out even though I have constantly been trying - make a clear ruling on this please Myke

So I spent 3 gems to pull quake off the nest and a few more to pull another crystal out of my EBS and then....drum roll....guess what I got? It's 0321 here so I guess I just need to stay up all night to get some luck. Or maybe it's my charming new bed partner who is currently sticking his little foot in my backside. His twin was helping me put the dragons in the shrine and decided to push his choice of dragons yesterday. Had to spend gems to quickly get the fog dragon out and another crystal in. Then he decided he wanted to race and by the time I noticed we were dead last. They are 3 1/2 and love DV. Well, I hate to not get those gems but I am so glad to be able to breed anything else!

I'm not competing this month but am following everyone's progress and rooting for you all.
The olympus dragons came out july 27 I think, so it was possible to have several before peridot came out, especially if they were still clogging up the caves or hatchery on august 1.

I was fortunate enough to get several Olympus dragons before Aug 1, so have been able to use both caves for the Peridot. I really would like to be able to get another gold & another silver Oly, so am hoping they stay around a while or I suddenly get lucky & get 2 Peridots in a row. Maybe for Sept the rule could be that at least one cave must be used continually for the gem comp.

Still no luck for me here. I got a lucky gem from debstoy yesterday, which I did use and not miser away. But alas, it netted me a Tree. So I'm still in the race.
I have to go into the office today, so if anybody sees me on the board...tell me to 'Get to Work!'

The Olympus released in July, I'm pretty sure. I got mine right before the Peridot started and then I bought it out to start the contest. So I hope anyone with an Olympus is NOT automatically out.

I confused a whole lot of participants by not making it explicitly clear in the OP that using both breeding caves for the competition was required.
I have since written to clarify that those wanting to remain in the competition should use both caves for breeding the Peridot dragon.
Does that mean you are out? Nope! It's up to you. If you want to remain in the comp and have a crack of the 44 gems in the pot, put both of your caves to work breeding Peridot. If the lure of the Olympus dragons is too great, then you can withdraw.
And that goes for all the remaining participants. If you want to bow out to split your breeding for Olympus, just let us all know. If it is your intention to remain in the comp, then get your second set of Crystal and Cactus busy.
Edit: I read from page 26 - 41 and fixed 1 spelling mistake. Thanks.

In truth, I was combing through the thread to update the OP with successes and withdrawals and I happened upon a mistake. Who knows, maybe it's not the one that Glenys found...
OK everyone: so to clear up this shroud of confusion, I have sent every participant who has yet to report a Peridot a PM asking them to state whether they want to stay in the comp or withdraw. I will update the OP with that info as soon as I hear back.

another crystal for me this morning. I did turn my lightning shrine silver though. Trying to find a bright spot in this haze of purple....
