I am making it my failure island. I saved most of the fails from the peridot and I'll collect all the fails from now on for the xyz dragon of the month and stick them on that island.

To those still struggling for a Peridot, any idea who has had most tries? I'll send a gem. Miskasmom & Roxorz are on my friends list already.
I got mine but am still trying cos last month was my first one of playing & I'd like more gems. Not very logical when I spend them to clear the hatchery & get the dragons in the first place! These are the tries so far, just for interest :-

Wow Pam. That's quite a list. I started saving my fails account 18 but I sold 6 crystals a quake and a couple of Moses and hatched 1cacti and a crystal before I started saving them. Those folk still left trying to get the peridot will probably end up getting more fails. Bless their hearts. I hope they get their peridot soon.
So let me get this right. So if you haven't been using both breeding spots then you're out??? That means that anyone that has an olympus is out! Cos as far as I know it's not one of the fails. If that's the case then I would be out even though I have constantly been trying - make a clear ruling on this please Myke

I confused a whole lot of participants by not making it explicitly clear in the OP that using both breeding caves for the competition was required.
I have since written to clarify that those wanting to remain in the competition should use both caves for breeding the Peridot dragon.
Does that mean you are out? Nope! It's up to you. If you want to remain in the comp and have a crack of the 44 gems in the pot, put both of your caves to work breeding Peridot. If the lure of the Olympus dragons is too great, then you can withdraw.
And that goes for all the remaining participants. If you want to bow out to split your breeding for Olympus, just let us all know. If it is your intention to remain in the comp, then get your second set of Crystal and Cactus busy.
Edit: I read from page 26 - 41 and fixed 1 spelling mistake. Thanks.

Thanks for clarifying comp. So now since both my breeding areas are full time at work I guess I am still in! But, much like Tommy, I am starting to question whether Cactus/Crystal is the right combo because I am definitely getting NO joy from them!!!!!!
I should have my first crystal hatched this evening so I can start attempting to breed for the Peridot. However, given that I do not have a ton of dragons I will be attempting peridot in on the island and working on general combinations in my cave so I can start building a decent base of dragons. I still need a lot of the "basic" hybrids.
Maybe next month I can join this "race."

I should have my first crystal hatched this evening so I can start attempting to breed for the Peridot. However, given that I do not have a ton of dragons I will be attempting peridot in on the island and working on general combinations in my cave so I can start building a decent base of dragons. And you would want to join this chaos? Seriously? I am questioning my sanity! Also rearranging my island to display my trophy fails. It's quite lovely .

I have not kept track of my fails, it's just too depressing! But I have had both caves breeding crystal and cactus since the first day of the month so that's at least 2 fails/day (more on some!)....
And sure enough, I got two more crystals last night. I did get a cactus before the crystal though. The good news is I'm less than 15 gems from upgrading my EBC Maybe that will make a change in luck for me.

My spice rack is alphabetized. She doesn't resort to that kind of stuff when we are frosty with each other. And we don't get frosty with each other too often. And who wants to dust their hot chocolate with whipped cream and paprika?

I'll consider that an official fail for me and am thus ineligible for any future attempts by you to pin assistant moderator on me (my time in the military taught me well never to volunteer, but also taught me how to find technicalities to make me ineligible for undesirable taskings)

The I HATE THE PERIDOT DRAGON COMPETITION is a race to be the last person to breed the Peridot Dragon (the gem dragon for August). The loser (the last person in the race) to get the Peridot dragon receives a gem from all the participants; a meagre reward for the pain of being last.
