Well, I tried with two fresh pairs hoping that the others were just worn out. I think I just breed stoopid dragons. Another Crystal and Tree. I told them all emphatically what I wanted. Maybe my dragonese is off? LOL. Thank you everyone for the gems!

Now I know what you're doing wrong...
They don't all speak the same language. Some of mine speak cantonese, while some others speak madarin for example. While I haven't mastered (nor discerned) all of their individual languages, I can assure you that none of mine speak dragonese. I am extremely fluent in dragonese, and while I think they might just understand it, they certainly haven't responded in a positive manner to any of my attempts to converse with them in that language. In fact, my lightning dragon (Jupiter - I think Greek could be his preferred language) shot be a nasty look when I asked him if he wanted a mate I. Dragons...and then he fried all of my electronics in my dragon inn (knew I should hav double surge protected that building). My guess is they are offended by their naturally native language of dragonese. Perhaps thy think we ar insisting that it would be the only language they know when we attempt to conversion with them in it (or maybe we have a complete misunderstanding of the exact dialect and are slaughtering their language). Aso, they usually do not respond well to pleading or being given orders. They are a highly intelligent race and proud species by nature (except perhaps th mud dragon...pretty sure he is inbred).
Try reasoning with them, and be sure to include how it is in their best interest to produce that peridot egg. But be certain not to include anything resembling a threat

Don't give up- there's still time!!! For Emerald, I got 4 on the last day of breeding, they just kept coming. You never know.
I'm actually struggling with breeding a second Frostfire. It's the last egg I need for now for my display.
Speaking of egg displays, I LOVE the way you've used the eggs as decorations & borders. Very creative. But, wow, what a lot of dragon breeding that represents!
It was quite easy and fast. Plant eggs take 15 seconds, earth eggs 5 minutes, fire 2 hours. All bought- no breeding.
I've started hoarding eggs- I'm going to sell them off when new levels are added for a nice XP and money boost.
I have a question Are we giving gems to those that don't have the peridot? Because Tommy doesn't have one either? Who else doesn't?

Good point. I had merely been focusing on lostgirl as she was the last remaining, without a peridot, who was eligible in the competition. However, some people chose to be removed from the competition (like Tommy) or were DQ'd on a technicality (to clarify some discrepancies and for the fairness of those trying nonstop in both caves). Happy to try to help others still get theirs (at some point I will begin attempting for a peridot display I imagine).
Side note: after complaining yesterday, I decided to stop saving my failures (be they crystal or otherwise) and suddenly popped 2 Olympus dragons. If I somehow got lucky (thanks to those sending me lucky gems recently) and they are both gold Olympus, I will most assuredly move on to attempt the seasonal breeding (if even one is G.O. I will probably do the same).
G'luck to those hunting anything right now. May your failures be swift and lucrative!
I've got a rotation breeding list going. Olympus, Panlong, Peridot, Seasonal. Olympus, Panlong, Peridot, Seasonal. Still no second Peridot, but I do have a Gold Olympus brewing

Grats on the GO.
Did you know that you can attempt Olympus and Seasonal at the same time with Butterfly + Tree/Moss/Clover?

Would if I could. But alas... I didn't start playing until July and the Butterfly is not a possibility for me . Maybe next year, if it comes around. So I have to do things the hard(er) way.
I am away on an outdoor first aid course for the next three days and there is no signal in the forest where we will be. Three days without my dragons, not sure how I will cope, but even more important it means no gems for the next three days. Have a great weekend everyone

At least you will be in good company if you have any adverse reactions to missing your dragons. Take care, see when you get back.

I think I might actually have a peridot. Timer says 1:06:59:35. I haven't leveled up my island soooo I am not 100%. But I do not remember seeing that type of time. It is also asking for 31 gems to speed it up.

WHOOT....thanks for the confirmation. Also just to confirm the number of gems is typically equal to the number do hours of incubation? (not including the ones under one hour)

Yep, you got it. For anything you are speeding up, the cost in gems is equal to the number of remaining hours or part thereof.
