I hope so. World Series typically happens toward the end of October in USA. My concern is that World Series is not global. Olympics and World Cup are global.

Right. (I suppose it was me that you were talking to, GregDarcy and Kiyoji21. Granted it is a good combo if you're really new when the event starts, the other long fails do not make it worthwhile for me. Also, I can only get Kite, Spring, Winter, Terradiem, Victory and L.Eclipse from it since all the others I need have specific requirements in their combos. The lowered breeding chance per desirable outcome due to a lot of fixed percentage dragons in the mix also hurts. All in all, I won't do it.
I WANT a Mirage!!! I have been trying to breed for opposites once I had the August dragons. However, I have not exactly been having any success at breeding for opposites. and NOW - I need Mirage to get a Sunstruck . Does anyone know how long this particular dragon will be around?

HM, well, I did finally get my mirage so yea to that. However, I am on my 7th fail for sunstruck and my 5th fail for sapphire . I am trying to be patient, but I am the other end of the bell curve for all of you that got yours the first or second try. ARGG

I would be using the fourth location too, but that would disqualify me from the competition for the equally mythical daydream!

I don't understand your question. Neither Panlong nor Cotton is required for any breeding. The only special I can think of that needs limiteds for parents is Moonstruck. It needs Love and Rose. Both of which are available in its normal breeding season. Mind you, I am still dirty on BFS for releasing moonstruck during a comeback, but not it's pre-requisite parents.
You will find lots of chatter in old posts about Panlong as for a long time it was the best earner by far. If you were prepared to collect every hour that was. However several updates ago they revised its earning capacity downwards. It is now nothing special. The only use i find for it is once a week for the air event in the colosseum. It remains the best air element earner. Still I have a fair collection of them in hibernation.
Don't sweat on the regulars. They will come in time. Pay attention to Bloodstone's breeding planner so you don't get caught out when a special comes along, but in general, most will come as fails for other dragons. Sooner or later you will get a let up in the specials. (They are coming unusually thick and fast lately) That is the time to take stock and try for some of the normals you don't already have. Especially the opposites. Opposites are mostly used for quarterly gemstones so you have plenty of time to get them. Remember that DV is a game for the long haul. Plan in terms of years not hours.

In my third park where I do not have Panlong, I use Terradiem but no guarantee for Gold. Kite works well for the Lightning and Metal events.

Kind of sounds like me and Panlong. Even my level 20 got me a silver once. And before when it was a level 17, it was a toss up whether I got a silver or gold. It's why I'm pretty hesitant to use it most of the time. I only ever use it for Water; anything else is Paper or Kite.
If it works for you, by all means stick to it. Just a couple of obversations though. While paper may earn 459/m in your set up, the habitat maxes out at 150,000. That means that you need to collect every five hours around the clock to achieve it's earning potential. More often if you have more than one dragon in the habitat. Up to every hour if you have five papers in there. You may be able to do that. Me? I need my beauty sleep. Your reality probably lies between those two extremes. You need to consider your collecting style before you can calculate the actual earnings from any specific dragon.
All my L20 dragons throw the occasional silver. No more than one every couple of months though. Perhaps it was just a bad day. Drawing a solid conclusion from a single instance in the probability driven world that is dragonvale is not good science.
We all play differently and it is the beauty of DV that it allows all the differences. Personally, while I keep all my epics, I don't have them all out. Nor do I have all the habitats I could. I earn 50—100M per day, and I am content with that. I haven't even bothered to rearrange the boosts since the update a few weeks ago.

I've been using basic elemental dragons @ lvl 15 for a long time now, and I would estimate that 7-8 times out of 10, I get gold, silver at worst. maybe you can get better stats with specific dragons for specific events, but for a dragon cash junkie like me, taking a Panlong or high gpm dragon out of its habitat is out of the question :-)

But I would take the Panlong ! When it wins gold, you get all the coins that it would have earned that whole day. OK the amount is unboosted, but on the other hand side it also pays for the time you sleep, plus you don't have to sweep each hour. Anyway I'm not brooding over each DC because I don't know where to spend them.

It all depends on how often you sweep. If you sweep once an hour all day and night every day, then yes Panlong earns a ridiculous amount. If you sweep once a day then it earns a measly 150,000 if it is the only dragon in the giant earth habitat. Even if it is quadruple boosted and L20! Much worse if you have five dragons in there. Average it out and call it 30,000. Compare that to the 280,000 at L20 it will earn in the colosseum. Even silver is a better deal @ 140,000 the same holds true for all the high earning non epic dragons.
But as I said earlier, DV allows you to play the way YOU want to.

Just a guess but...
Panlong and Cotton pop up fairly often as suggestions on the Sandbox if you are trying for multi-dragon breeding combos.
This looks pretty useful to find out the best dragons for each event.
@greg & Crumble: I agree with you both, just depends on your playing style. As Greg put it "DV allows you to play the way YOU want to" (I sweep several times in a 24 hrs period (10+) so not an issue for me ;-))
So this is a thread for you to post in if you have a few different dragons to get, and someone from the community (staff or member) will help you with combinations that will try for more than one of them ... if we can. Hi and welcome Macky. Please feel free to take the time to look around. There is a wealth of information to be found. And not a few taunts as well.
I took the liberty of deleting your duplicate post. No need to ask the same question twice in the space of a few minutes. Someone will see it and reply sooner of later. And as there are people here from all around the world, it is usually sooner.
For this and all similar questions, Sandbox is your friend. It is well worth spending a little time to get to know how to drive it, but if you are pressed for time at the moment, you may like to know that the combination is Hypnotic and Mirage. This is a locked combination. There are no alternatives. Until you get your first anyway.
