Thanks for the help, I gave up chasing a second gold in favour of the new silver. I'm currently pursuing the Blue fire and all I need then is the elusive Rainbow, until they produce a new one!
Not sure if it's gone again or not....couldn't breed one to safe my life the day it was announced on here when I got home that night Tried all weekend with no luck on the Firework.

Yup happy with the panlong just awaiting it's hatching timer....especially after I accidently used gems to sped up my seasonal hatching timer....sight lesson learned do not type so fast!!!!!

I am so glad I read this thread.. I now have a gold or silver cooking on my EBI with the Mine + Scorch and a sun in the other cave with my Iceberg + Lightening. Both were the first time I tried with each cross so I am pretty happy with that... except for the fact that both my caves are clogged up until tomorrow... although I do have a lot of spare gems so i guess i don't neeeed to wait

Congratulations on your rares! You can tell whether or not you have a Gold or Silver without speeding it up. The breeding time for a Gold is 39 hours and the Silver is 38.
Quick question, I just threw in one blazing and one mud dragon in my EBI ( upgraded version, less breeding time ). The game froze up, was stuck for a few seconds. Afterwards I couldn't see an incubation button.
After waiting a few minutes incubation button suddenly showed with a breeding time of 4 hours and 48 minutes. Can't find a normal dragon with fire/ air/ earth / water with that breeding time, does it mean it's another firework dragon? Or did I overlook something...
Edit: Never mind, mud dragon has the same timer.... Posted too quick.

I saw this question posted somewhere else on the forum but couldn't find an answer. For a second gold olympus dragon would it be faster to breed it with a silver Olympus or "start from scratch?"

You can get a gold from gold/silver parents, but the odds are much more in favor of a silver. It's all in the luck as to whether you would get a gold faster from scratch or gold/silver.
