Hi. I have reached my goal of getting two of all the pure elements, ordinary hybrids, opposites and the limiteds that have been available since I started playing to level 15. I also have two extra panlongs.
I don't have firework, paper, ghost, bone, gift, or reindeer
Any bright ideas where to proceed from here? I'm not in any hurry. The re-release of firework will add two to my fire and air shrines in the next week or so. In the meantime I'm just concentrating on growing food. My park makes about twenty-five to thirty million a day (I think).
I really don't want any more panlongs!!!
So you need
6 Plant 4 Fire 6 Earth 14 Cold 14 Lightning 10 Air 10 Water 18 Metal
Start with 6 Bearded and 6 Bloom to leave you with
4 Fire 2 Cold 8 Lightning 10 Air 10 Water 12 Metal
4 Butterflies will drop it to
2 Cold 4 Lightning 6 Air 10 Water 12 Metal
Then we're back to Dragons with 2 elements, so 2 Magnetic, 2 Storm, 3 Chrome, 7 Rust and 3 Fog/Rain
I'm going to hold off for a few days as I'm still after my second gold Olympus and summer. Hopefully by then firework will be back too, then I'll make a start on the beardeds. Hopefully they'll release another multiple element rare containing metal (and ideally water and lightning! ) as that'll help too!
Thanks again
I tend to distribute my spare gems to those who look like they need them so please don't feel you have to return if you get one from me!
My GN won't let me in regularly so please don't send me gizmonauts crystals. I can't use or return them!
HI, I was wondering if there has been any work done on optimising the mix for an old fashioned shrine grind using the new three element metal hybrids.
I ask as I am nearing my first goal in my little park - having at least one of each dragon. As I have not bothered with levelling dragons, all my shrines are still bronze, and thought I may as well optimise for silver as well as gold. At present my shrine tally stands at: element Have Earth 28 Plant 32 Fire 32 Cold 29 Lightning 28 Metal 20 Air 27 Water 22
I have enough food (>5Million) to level everything to silver even if not fully efficient, but not gold. Nor do I have enough space in the infirmary (hibernation cave) to store dragons at present. I am still 100 gems short of being able to upgrade the infirmary so I would like to have to sell as few dragons as possible.
Clearly, the first step is to feed up all my level 1 dragons, but after that it will be quite an intellectual challenge to optimise the rest of the way.

Okay thinking about it quickly, 25 each of Bearded, Liberty, Bouquet, Panlong and Bloom. Should do the job. 125 dragons. Will look at breed times, etc on the weekend.
And if there is a water, air, lightning hybrid, then 25 of that with 25 Paper would probably be quicker than Panlongs and Blooms.
Thanks Fletch, But given that I have stopped playing pending a fix to the loading screen, there is no urgency.

All knowing Fletch_smf As a new player to DV, I would like to know how to join the big boys of the game. I am on level 26/27 and have all my shrines and paid the gems to have them gold. But as a late bloomer was late to the game and was not able to get the Panlong, Paper,Sakura, Solar Eclipse, etc dragons. So after reading your posts where do I go from here to get my islands producing money and points to move me up the ladder . I am working on getting my dragons on higher levels. I have 1 plasma I have been working on to get to 20 (18 1/2) most dragons are 15+ . I still have a few 12's but they are things like peppers and fireworks.
My list

Well ... this thread sic mainly about which dragons to breed and feed to get your shrines to gold in the fastest/easiest/cheapest fashion. Paying gems to get there means you don't have to worry about that.
If you are only interested in making DC, then Solstice and Blue Moon in a large Sun/Moon habitat is the way to go. I don't think you have either in that list, but we think Blue Moon might be released in a week or so.
Personally I wouldn't worry about earning money. And I especially wouldn't worry about the leader boards. The only real reason to earn money is to make food, and the only reason you need a lot of food is to feed a lot of dragons to level 15 to turn your shrines gold, and you've already done that. I'd just continue along, breeding the new dragons as they are released.
Welcome to the board. Glad you found your way here.

I am waiting for blue moon to reappear on the 20th and the other in December My issue is making the DC to plant the treats to feed the dragons to level up my dragons. Is there a better mix I should have to do this and no I am not trying to get up the boards just reading that it takes 1.4 million for the last steps of level 19 EACH is a large undertaking and that is to get one number 20 I have looked at parks and tried to make more friends even just for " party hats" also I have 3 golds dragons ,2 platinum , and 3 electrum dragons, and a few epics in underground tower waiting. To come out. I have looked at the earning power of my dragons and most are ok but some are low so what is a better mix. Get rid of the earth dragons, stick with plasma ,current etc After reading this I feel I am just in it for the money LOL I need your wisdoms to help me tweak. My park a bit . Thanks for the help!!!

Before I found this forum, I maximised my DC by having all my high earning dragons out, concentrating on feeding them up to level 15.
As you do not need dragons for shrines, you can be choosy and not worry about the lower earning ones until you need them for breeding.
I would advise upgrading your element habitats to giant so you can have more dragons out, and can earn more DC each time you collect the cash. And use your epic dragons to the full, don't keep them in the hibernation cave, as they are high earners and only need feeding up to level 10.
I hope this helps.
Kindle park1: nearly all dragons are frolicking in their habitats! (A Thorny little problem to resolve...)
Smartphone park2: Geode, a dragon with rocks in! Still to breed 4 dragons...
Question playing against a friend and this is more about the XP points . Can you explain to me if I have 45 habitats and friend has 35 I have big cash bringers, and all dragons are 15+ friend has a few high pays some are15+ most are 10s . Is it the act of feeding dragons up to 15 that raises your Xp points (level36-37) . I think I am out foxing friend, change look of park, get decorations, change pavers to higher priced ones. Then I go look next day , friend has no real decorations and is either past me or is about to catch up. What other things increase the XP count, cause I need to blow my friend out of the water.....lol

IMO this is not a game where you play "against" anybody. If that is what you are after, then you are probably playing the wrong game. As for XP, having, or earning DC does not get you any. You get XP by growing food, breeding, hatching and feeding dragons and by buying buildings and decorations. Different dragons make different XP. And it does not directly relate to a dragons DC value or earning capacity. The treasure dragons tend to have the highest, followed by the metals, but there are exceptions. Study the wiki and or the sandbox to get exact details Edit: oh and I forgot, race track and colosseum are excellent sources of XP too.

This is not that kind of contest it is just a friendly game. Just having fun. I love this game. I just love trying to find out what changes things in the game I did not mean to upset. Thank you for the info. I think I am doing things right it is just the inner geek in me that wants to beat the friend. Lol. My question is does the race track do me any good if I already have the " big guy" I still race for fun but all I win is coin.
May you have Love, Peace, Joy this holiday season, and may you excuse all my Spelling and Grammar errors.
The race track used to be one of the best sources of XP in the game. Not sure how it compares after the last round of changes though. I'm caped at 45 so haven't gotten XP from racing in some time.
There's other things to do to earn XP, like bredding certain dragons or buy ing/selling back decorations for XP, which basically lets you exchange DC for XP on a 1:1 basis.
Except that you lose half your money each time. If you really wanted to gain the most Xp, the best way, although not the fastest, is just to sit there buying and selling gold sidewalk tiles. You get the Xp and your full money back. It might get rather boring but it does not hurt you in the overall game.
I love my vine dragon avatar created by ElektronX. Now, if only BFS would add it to the game...

I'm pretty sure all the paths give you 0 XP when you create them. Someone that actually earns XP still will have to confirm that though...

Well someone needs to tell my wife that this isn't a game where you play "against" someone. She constantly reminds me how her park value is well above mine. I was always a couple levels above her but her park value in the iOS Game Center was always above mine. I assumed it was because of her decorations vs. my "natural" islands!
So if you are on iOS you might want to check your park value compared to your friend. If it is higher then just brag about that! You will both be level 45 one day and sadly now I can't say I am a higher level than my wife...
I know I am just trying to figure out how with 35 habitats and less dragons this person is still neck and neck with me and then I checked back and no gold shrines . Hummmmm does this mean friend is raising dragons to said 15 then selling? Then raising more hummmmmm. Is this how. Maybe. Well as I was told relax, enjoy the game and as you said we will both get to 45 and then nothingness. It will just be who has more money or more treats and gems . I love this game and I really don't care who is in the lead it is the fun of the chase. Lol will work on a new plan cause paper will be here soon and then those beauties I have been hoping for the Equinox and bone and ghost..hope,hope,hope......maybe something new for fall. Always planning and calculating. Got the spread sheet and excel and income and output.....I am ready.....lol

Is anyone else still working on shrines? I had most of my shrines to silver before DV2.0, and shortly after that I finished all but metal… Now with BeB giving me some dragons with three and four elements, I'd like to look at what it will take to get enough level 15 dragons. In particular, I was just wondering if I should sell my extra Terradiem dragons or if I'll need them for shrines. I know that Panlong has all that Terradiem has plus fire, but since I still haven't managed to breed even one Panlong, I doubt I'll manage a pair. If anyone else is working on this, I'd be happy to work with him or her to figure out our plans.
There's not much point to doing the shrine grind anymore.
It's a huge expenditure of resources for no real gain.
You can always just spend gems to turn them gold, clear the goals and get the treat reward.
That said, very soon if you get two of every dragon to level 15 you will automatically gild Air, Cold, Earth, Fire, Plant and Water, so you would only need to spend gems on Metal and Lightning (and Dark/Light if/when they get shrines)

I took my little park to all gold shrines the old fashioned way AFTER DV2.0 came out. Mainly because I am an old fashioned conservative. However, gems are much more precious than DC to me. I would much rather spend the money on food. After all, what else is there to do with it once you have maxxed out on habitats.
If I started a third park I probably wouldn't even bother with buying the shrines. They used to be a way to unlock extra levels, but they are pretty much just decorations now.
