I will send everybody who entered a gem for their participation. Anyone who entered shall send the other participants one gem. When we have a 1st/2nd place...but you said u understood that so never mind.
Wait, we are sending a gem to each participant, not just the winner? Can you clear this up, please? Was this stated at the beginning of the comp?
Now after looking over this another time, each person would need to send gems to 9 different people, which is kinda a lot :/ With the winner included, that would be about 10 gems sent from a single person or 1 1/2 days to fulfill the payment if paid all at once. Maybe the prizes could have a change or alternative?
The prizes were "to be announced" after submissions did close. Sending a gem to each participant is too many, Alice. I suggest you make things the traditional one gem to the winner or no one will want to enter this again.

I want to give Eternity a chance to respond to my question, but I feel if the rules for any competition are going to be changed from what has become standard then it needs to be stated before entries are taken.

I'm more than happy to give a gem to everyone, but I don't feel the need to receive a gem just for participating myself. So, if it ends up that is the rule, please make it easier on yourselves and take me off your list to send to.

Does this help?

Well...I mean...I guess I didn't expect this many people. (as I had the prizes planned beforehand) Sorry for the...stuff. I'll think it through...
So are we like not ok with sending gems to everyone? I'm a little confused,
It is a nice idea, but it needed to be said up front so that entrants could take the number of gems they were committing into consideration before entering. Contests generally state the rules in advance of the contest, so waiting until the poll was up didn't really give people all the info they needed to make a decision whether to enter. I'm pretty sure they assumed it would be similar to our other contests where they were "wagering" one gem to the winner.
It is your contest and your decision, but I would strongly suggest you stick with the standard gem dispersal for this contest, then make any changes you think appropriate in advance of the next one.
This, for all the other participants. Thanks ElectonX. Appreciated, but I just crept back into 4 figures of gems so I have plenty saved up to upgrade that decoration shed when they release it.
I also don't expect a gem, but will doll them out (even to you Fletch, and you can't stop me HAHAHAHAHAH). Most of you are on my friends' list already.
