just realized I can't rejoin with my current age. I tried to reregister (believe me I wasn't going to post much...) And I wasnt allowed...what should I do?
I'm one year underage...man.
See you next year then lol
The 13 year old age limit is a ProBoards rule that is set in place to protect young people from not very nice adults. We have no control over the age limit at all.
You will still be able to visit and post as a guest.
I just had the strangest thing happen, I was in DV logged in on my main account and went to gift friends but the friends list from my other account showed up. I had a confused moment and gifted those I owed on that account but it looks like now I need to wait until my tree refreshes tomorrow to gift the winners sorry.

Just put whatever you want in there- it is an internet forum, not a binding legal contract. I never put my proper birthdate and year in these either. I do it to avoid companies collecting personal data and marketing, though. Wish I could get away from google. "Don't be evil" is their company motto, but they are scary with the amount of personal data they collect. I tried the duckduckgo search engine since they have a very strict privacy policy, but the results from queries left much to be desired.

Not true, Bliss.
This Terms of Service (the "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement by and between ProBoards, Inc. (hereinafter, "ProBoards") and you or your company (in either case, "You" or "Your") concerning Your use of ProBoards' website (the "Website") and the services available through the Website (the "Services"). By using the Website and Services, You represent and warrant that You have read and understood, and agree to be bound by, this Agreement and ProBoards' Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy"), which is incorporated herein by reference and made part of this Agreement. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT, OR DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY IT OR THE PRIVACY POLICY, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE WEBSITE AND CEASE USING THE SERVICES.
I prefer not to encourage a 12 year old to lie and defy her parents wishes.

I don't want to muddy the waters any more, but ProBoards saying it constitutes a legally binding agreement doesn't actually make it so. I'm not sure even where they are situated, but if they're in the U.S. and I'm in Australia, which laws are we being bound to?
Having said that, they have the right to boot anyone from using their services, because they are their services. Not to mention they have the right to close down our board if they decided they didn't like us encouraging people to circumvent their rules (or just on their own whim really, as the are offering a free service). I don't think we should encourage ED to lie about her age to get around the TOS. And I definitely don't think we should encourage her to visit without the blessing of her parents.
how about this - Maidy, electronX and I send 2 gems each to the 3 winners and we call it good
Sorry for coming in late here, but the point of the poll was to pick a name for ED's Love Dragon. A 3 way tie doesn't help here. Maybe another Poll with just those 3 options and another round of voting?
The idea of a forum host taking legal action against someone who lied over their age is absurd. That language is for the protection of proboards only. They care about one thing- ad revenue from clicks. I assume that, if she comes back, it is by permission of her family. But, I can't feel it is our business either way, preferences not withstanding.

It's legality is irrelevant, it is their website, their rules. They set 13 as a minimum age, their rules should be respected. I would hope that if Eternity does return it would be with the permission of her parents.

Back on topic, the point of the comp was to pick a name for Eternity's Love Dragon. However, since she deleted her game, if I read that properly, this is moot. So, to just finish this, we proposed Maloojay, ElectonX and I would send 2 gems each to the three tie winners and consider things done. No one else need send gems to anyone.
Does anyone have a problem with that or are we good?

Thanks for fixing this, Maidy Maloojay och Electronx.
I have finished returning gems to my gem tree donators.
Now I can start dishing out participant gems for this competition.
I was only able to gift one, winou33, you were first on the list, the rest to follow from tomorrow, 3 a day, let me know if I short anyone from the list: maid4life bliss myke pixie sarakins fletch elektronx maloojay
Also thanks Maidy, Maloojay and ElektronX for your generosity in fixing this.
Sounds good to me! Congrats Pixie, Rynoster and winou33! Gems coming when the tree regenerates.
Thank you! Do I also have to send the other winners a gem?
Nope. Maidy, Maloojay, and I are covering the prizes for Eternity, so gems from the other participants don't need to be sent out to the winners. Each winner is receiving 6 gems total from the three of us to sum up this contest

I don't think she deleted her DV game. Just her account at the forum. I might be wrong though.

Fletch is right. I still have my game.
Everyone is confusing me about the Terms of Service and all...

Yep, I'm going to go off-topic here again because of the age of our friend.
Eternity, I'm obviously not your mom but I do care about what happens to you. Forget about trying to understand the legal talk from the Terms of Service, that really isn't the point at all. What is important is that ProBoards has set 13 to be the minimum age for members of their boards. They do this for many reasons, some of them, as Bliss pointed out, are to protect themselves. Another of those reasons is to protect you.
As a member you have access to the pm system, which a guest does not. You may have noticed there are days when we have many more guest visitors than we do actual members. Those guests can read all your posts, including the one telling us you are under 13. As Fletch mentioned in his post, people can be anything they want on the Internet. I want you to be safe, your posting as a guest offers you a layer of security while still keeping in touch with us. Does this make more sense?

ED. Wow been so busy I haven't kept up. There wasn't an Internet that I could lie to get into. I did however lie to go to the movies. I survived it with no scars...
I commend you for coming clean. That is a big step in the growing up process. Get your grades up and make your parents proud...they will get smarter as you get older by the way. Remember that they want the best for u. So try to see things from their perspective like u asked us to look at things from your perspective...
