Well I am really going to miss the game and everyone here. This is one of the best and friendliest game forums I have ever seen or been a part of. Thanks you to all the moderators and administrators here.
This is a very sad day for me! I did not have a chance to log onto the forum yesterday and imagine my shock and sadness when I read all these just an hour ago!!! I have been playing DV since the start but only joined this forum a few months ago. Just when I find myself a part of this friendly and helpful group, it is closing its doors. I have enjoyed participating in this forum. I will continue to play the game and hopefully breed all the "ghostlies" that I am missing. Thank you to everyone. Maybe we will still see each other around in the Vale.
Another Everquest player, nice! I started EQ when it was in a closed beta, and stuck with it for quite a while. That was quite a long time ago.
What is scary is Everquest came out in 1999 and is still going strong www.everquest.com/expansion-content. I went back and logged in 6 years or so when I received a free month from them and was surprised that some of the old players were still playing. I just checked, EverQuest’s 26th expansion is coming out in December. Now I feel old.😂
I don't think I even have access to the email or my account information from then, that was back in the day when emails changed much more regularly. I was involved in running one of the big raiding guilds when playing, in the time before kids.

I was so shocked when I came on the forum last night to check up on the latest. Like adlerist, DragonVale is an old friend of mine, too - downloaded it a little bit later in the first days of October. It's seen me through some really tough times lately in my personal life and health. Some days, a small success on DragonVale like breeding the right dragon or simply seeing a new beautiful egg brought some light and excitement to my day. I really hope that they will continue to keep it alive at least in the ways described by some of you. I've finally come to a point in my gameplay and have enough motivation and time in my life where I want to develop my Rift and organise my park and now this happened! I'll miss the game so much, and I just found this lovely community! Let's keep our fingers crossed for DragonVale!

I didn't even get a Harvest Moon to add to my collection. Maybe I'll use my last wish to get one, just so I can say I had one for a little while. Though really, if I could wish for anything, it would be that the game continues on so we can keep playing and stay together as a community.

I found this on Reddit if anyone is interested in signing it! Probably won't do anything to reopen Backflip, but maybe it will help them do more for DragonVale in this decision period.

I just checked my account, and I downloaded the game on November 1, 2011. Will be so sad to see it go.

So sad to hear of the closing of BFS and the laying off of their staff. What an awful thing to happen just before Christmas.
My thanks to the developers and staff at BFS for the job they have done with keeping the game interesting and constantly coming up with new ideas (even if sometimes it was a bit frustrating).
I hope that Dragonvale is still able to be played for some time, so that if necessary, we can wean ourselves off gently from our addiction rather than log on one day and find that it is no longer playable.

I know the feeling. I just bought a island to turn into a 🎃Halloween island. I opened my storage tower today and became the 😠 (in more than one way) decorator. As I moved things to the island I kept thinking I won't have very long to enjoy it. My Christmas and Halloween are my favorite islands as of now.🎃🎄

Wow! I just checked and I downloaded it on September 16, 2011. Somehow I didn't realize that I've been playing this daily, without exception, since two days after it's release. I hope they find a way to keep the game going. There will be a hole in my heart when it is gone. 😔

If you are using 🍎, go to the App Store —> account —> purchased. All the apps you have downloaded and purchased will show up with the date you downloaded it. I don’t use android, so not sure how to check that.

Back in 2016 when I quit the game I made a big poster of my park and also a video. There are apps to record what's on your tablet screen. You might even take an app that's only a demo for some days (you only need it for some days) There are a lot of screen recorders in the app store.
