Lol, I may have to cave (ha!) and buy one as a memento of all the joy
someone said they might video their park...how would a person go about doing that? i guess I could take screenshots of each island, almost as good
Back in 2016 when I quit the game I made a big poster of my park and also a video. There are apps to record what's on your tablet screen. You might even take an app that's only a demo for some days (you only need it for some days) There are a lot of screen recorders in the app store.
Not as good as you are with this does this hold for all devices? I use a Fire this is why I ask. If so the next step would be to figure out how. Some one could make some money if they could save the parks for everyone who wanted them. Just wishing out loud. Thanks for the info. 🐨

look here I don't know if this one works good (I have an android device) but it is free, so havr a try there are also videos on youtube how to use it just search for screen recorder and kindle fire
dragon list (last dragon : Gatren) DV friend id: Crumble#7733 friend link coop friends always welcome, but all my gems are spoken for
Ditto, many thanks crumble608 , never would have known such apps existed 😄
If you are using IOS, there is an option in the Control Centre (Customise Controls) to do screen recording. I just tried it and it will take some practice to get it perfect, but I had my park on video.
Go to - Settings, control centre, customise controls. Tap “+” button next to Screen Recording
Next, open DragonVale, set to park view if desired, then swipe down from the top right of screen to open Control Centre and press the record button. There is a 3 second count down then move around your park to record. Swipe down and press button again to stop recording. Your video ends up in your photos.

Thanks for the information! I was wondering how to make a video of my park so I can preserve what's there. Now I know to look in the app store and find one to make a video of my park.

We share our physical lives with those in spirit. For life, like love, never dies. Love knows no limits, not even death.
Backflip has two major titles currently out: Dragonvale and Transformers. I'm not familiar with the Transformers game and I had hoped that perhaps that was the source of the income loss for Hasbro and that they might keep DV running in some form with updates. A couple of articles that I read today throw that hope out the window.
Transformers is only published by Backflip, but they are not the developers. The development team has announced that the studio closing will have no impact on their game and that they will continue to make updates for years to come. That really means the loss was due to DV, DV World, and Spellfall. While they may have lost a lot with the DV World creation, it's been out of development for a while now and Spellfall has had no updates in years. What that tells me is that they were shutdown for Dragonvale, and DV alone unless there were new side projects we had not seen or heard of yet. All of us thinking that they were crazy for doing so many events and so many changes were probably right. The team was too big and doing too much too quickly.
Another article mentioned 86 employees were laid off, and described most of the positions at the company (developers, artists, etc). These employees would stay on until 'around' Dec 23rd, and that would be the end. Merry Christmas? I have no love for big companies and their timing when dealing with people's lives. I assume the fate of DV is still up in the air after that date, but I wouldn't bet against it shutting down completely. I still hope they see the income as worthwhile if they keep it running, but without a team left at all it would be difficult to keep it going. It's not just triggering events to restart over the years, there's still detailed configuration changes that need to be made to make that work and someone has to understand how it all fits together.
I have seen minor changes in the dev environment today, which tells me someone is working. Nothing major, especially to the new game mode that was being worked on. I hope it makes it in before end of year, I'm interested in seeing it in action. There were no dev changes last week, so my guess is people impacted took the week off to adjust to the new roles and their future.
I'm going to miss this game, even if it stays running in some final form without updates. It still looks amazing 8+ years later and held all of our attention for longer than I could have ever imagined.

I reckon it was pure greed that sounded the death knell; greed selling it to a big Corp, greed from the big Corp shareholders Not taking the time to appreciate WHY folk loved this game and used to be prepared to spend RL$on it
I don’t think they developed aspects in a rush for love of the game, I think it was to max profits Do Hasbro have a record of running things they buy into the ground?
Do big companies in the states not use focus groups to get the answers to these types of q’s? To test a market?
The 1% really suck! I’m thinking of posting them aaallll my sulphur dragons after shutdown 😈😈😈😈

Greed and write offs are a wicked thing of the corporate world. They really don't care who gets fried in it all as long as they come out on the 💸$$ end.😈😵
I would think they would be willing to try other routes of revenue for a game before shutting down completely. If they could get 200,000 people to pay a subscription of $5 monthly that would be 1,000,000. Then more money from in app purchases. If they provided new content at more reasonable odds for dragons (none of this 1-5% business!) people would pay monthly for something they enjoy.

I play another game that just started (maybe about a year ago) offering a "VIP Pass". It comes in two forms, a one month pass and a one year pass. The pass offers you a small daily amount of gems and a small amount of of in game tickets used to speed up certain processes. It's a really good deal and it is a popular offering. The month pass is about $5 US dollars and gives you 30 gems a day for that month. I took the year pass and I think that was $49 US dollars for the year. Something like that would be a good thing for them to try here I think.
Ordered the book from Amazon and I believe it is to come on Friday. If you are willing to wait I'll let you know then. Sounded interesting and good.😊
Thanks dragonglow. I know it will be no where near up to date, but I’d like to know what you think before I purchase one.
Just got notice from Amazon that the book hasn't shipped yet. Is showing Oct 31-Nov 5.📦 Hope that doesn't mean they are having trouble with supply. 😟 🍀Will keep you updated.

I have wondered why TPTB didn’t try a subscription. I would get one; this is the only game I want to play
