So I was listening to the chings and dings while collecting from my habitats and noticed all the different sound effects for each. I don’t know if it’s a new thing, upgraded or has always been there, but it is so cool. After all these years, I still get amazed at how talented BF is with all these little details.💗🐲 I truly hope the new owners don’t corrupt the beauty of the game.

I don’t know if it’s a new thing, upgraded or has always been there, but it is so cool. After all these years, I still get amazed at how talented BF is with all these little details.💗🐲 I truly hope the new owners don’t corrupt the beauty of the game.
The habitat sound effects have always been in place, and I absolutely love them! My favourites are the 'canyon echoing eagle' from the large air habitat, the 'lightning storm with buzz of electricity' from the giant lightning habitat, the 'devil’s breath' of the large dark habitat, and the 'high pitch squawking drunk birds' from the large rainbow habitat.
The habitats are true works of art with loving detail. So much so, the sound effects for the large and giant habitats are different variations of the habitat’s sound. Click on them when there’s no DC to collect and hear them in all their splendid wonder.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the ornamental habitat, as it’s currently in season. It takes loving detail to a new level. The original ornamental dragons interact with the habitat and activate different animations when placed in it.
If you’re curious about what dragon sets off which animation...
Flicker: adds a string of lights to the trees
Dazzling, Twinkle, Starshine: adds a star to the treetops and lights up the tower windows
Lace, Ribbon: adds a string of lace to the trees
Ornamental: adds ornaments to the trees and red bows to the bridge and tower
Verglace, Tinsel: adds icicles to the tower and bridge and a fancy pattern on the ice

I have a couple of questions regarding purchasing eggs in the rift market: 1. Are all eggs purchased rifted? Or is there a chance that it will be a non traited egg? 2. Will the purchase follow the order of rift, and then twin rift if I already have a rifted one?
I am trying to take advantage of the current availability for purchase of galaxy, chrysalis, snowflake and monolith in the rift. Any words of wisdom is greatly welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

1. Only if you don’t own the dragon will you receive an untraited version from the Rift mystery eggs.
2. No. All mystery eggs purchased in the Rift follow the pattern of regular/untraited > twin > Rift twin. What you receive depends on the version(s) of the dragon you already own. If you have a Rift version, you’ll receive a twin. If you have a Rift and twin, you’ll receive a Rift twin.
Please be aware that you can receive duplicates. If you already have a Rift twin Dittoglide with a plant trait and you purchase a Chrysalis Egg of Mystery, you can receive another Rift twin Dittoglide with a plant trait. There’s no guarantee you’ll be given an unowned Chrysalis dragon or an unowned trait. The only guarantee is the order of the dragon type/version.

Anybody as POed as I am about the cost of upgrading an Omnitat? 2,000 Gems! Outrageous! It took me over a year to save up 2,000 Gems and I play at least twice a day.

Pretty exorbitant. I actually used two of my wishes getting upgraded Omnitats. 2000 gems is too much to spend on anything, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve very rarely had over 2000 gems in my 8+ years of playing this game! And you can get a wish every 100 days, which is much faster than you (or at least I) can get 2000 gems. So there.

don' upgrade an omnitat it costs the same to get a new big one. If you are at the limit of possible omnitats, put the little one in storage and buy the big one. This wax you can pull the little one out of storage if the cap of omnitats is upped.

So when are we supposed to hear about the game's future? Is there a known "deadline"? I can see how the sale of a business is like the sale of a house, it's a process that can go south at any point before the deal is completely done, so that could be why there hasn't been any formal announcement of what is going on, but... the process can't go on indefinitely, right? They've gotta say something sometime, right?

I'm not entirely sure, but the way things are going right now it doesn't look like the game is going to shut down. Maybe they've already got things set up with the new owners and are making the final adjustments before they make the announcement. Either way, we should know soon enough. Probably after this event ends is my guess.
With that in mind, it might be a while before we have our next event. There might be a week or two of regular gameplay while they work things out. Which is fine with me because these events are more enjoyable when they aren't dumped on us with only a day in between. 😊

No one except certain people at Hasbro and perhaps Backflip know the game's future. Whether it will be sold off to another company, run as is with little changes, or eventually shutdown. The rumors are that 'new owners' have or will take over, but we certainly have not seen any indication of that occurring.
I can tell you with certainty that there are new dragons in the queue that have not been released. Several golden hybrids, including a new one just appearing in the files this week. There's also one special new dragon that I except to see sometime within the next month. I heard rumors that the developers left the game with a number of 'new' dragons to be released over time. Perhaps we will see those released, and not much else, over the next few months.
I'm seeing no changes to their development files since the shutdown in late December. The files have been static since that point. Even the new dragons for this event have been left off that area, whoever is maintaining the game now is no longer using that dev/QA environment and everything is going straight into the prod files we see in our game. There has been some setup for Valentines 2020, but only existing dragons that will be put on sale. I'm seeing nothing about a new 2020 event. It's perhaps a bit early, but usually we see changes in dev for big events long before the event hits. Maybe they have a new environment that I haven't found.
If new owners really do take over then it may take a while for them to get a handle on the game and making larger changes. I would hope they would bring back many of the prior developers and artists, but if not we'll likely see the game take a new direction.

Hi all; back to the olden days in the Rift; my baby park now has a Rift. I went to ED and the Rift thread looking for those oh-so-helpful diagrams we had about positions of Rift buildings and the order in which to clear clouds of etherium ...BUT imgur and others have removed ALL the diagrams and pics from that era. SO BIG lesson; we need to describe in words what our diagrams contain, or we will lose all sorts of info, if that info is considered important rather than just fun pics
Those who may have copies of original of those or any other diagrams, could you please repost and anyone with time and energy will add verbal descriptions to the info...unfortunately it was a Magpac post (and we don’t have the glorious koala shirted one anymore on this board) who had formattted the diagrams re how to quickly find and uncover Rift buildings... if anyone had copied and pasted those that would be great
We mods will also need to periodically check ED links and try to fill in the created gaps in such links What a pain!

If you google 'rift buildings dragonvale' you get lots of diagrams, some of which have the layout of the buildings whereabouts. Perhaps the diagrams disappear from imgur, but it lives on in google?

Correct, the cloning chances are 0 with only one parent.
