Leading on from the Galaxy discussion… how on earth (or in the Vale) does one breed Rigel? It’s a Galaxy so can only be bred in the CBC, but it’s Rift exclusive?
Rigel is a Galaxy hybrid, it contains the Galaxy and Rift elements, so it’s an exception to the Galaxy breeding rule. The only way the Rift element can be obtained is if a dragon is bred in the Rift. Since there’s no Cooperative, the Rift breeding rule is taking precedence and Rigel must be bred in the Rift.
The Galaxy dragons have a couple exceptions for their hybrids. Lunis, Solis, and Solarflare require a non-Galaxy dragon in their breeding combo, and Lunis and Solis can be bred outside of the Cooperative.

DragonVale was released on September 14, 2011. I downloaded it six days later on September 20, 2011. Today marks my 10 years of dragon madness. What an absolute delight!
3 phones and 2 iPads later, DV lives on while my devices do not. I cannot think of a better way to spend 10 years and to share it with the finest DV community this world has ever known. ❤️

Having played for ten years I probably should know the answer, but I don't. My question is this: If I can breed a dragon which I don't have in the coop, can I also breed a second one in my other breeding caves when I have one of them, even if they aren't currently available?

I didn’t know we can see when we actually started playing. I have to look now and see if my guess is right, that’s in my signature.

My guesstimate of Dec. 2013 was close! I’ve been playing since October 10, 2013, almost 8 years!
Thanks adlerist for prompting this anniversary date research!!

Congratulations on your personal DragonVale anniversary! I neglected to pay attention to my actual anniversary date. According to my iPhone, I downloaded it on Sep 16, 2011. I can't believe I got it 2 days after it was originally released! Pretty cool. I'm quite certain at the time that I never imagined I would play DV religiously every day for the next 10 years...and more! Hands down the best game I've ever played, and it's not even close.
I second your salute to this wonderful community! I only wish I had discovered it sooner. I'll also give a shoutout to the DragonVale Wiki, which sustained me for many years before I found my way over here. It's so awesome that there are so many folks out there that are willing to share their knowledge and experiences for the greater good of the community. Plus it helps to have a place to celebrate our successes, or have a little whine when necessary! Here's to you!

I remember when I first started playing, my daughter’s boyfriend jailbroke my iPod so I could get gems. 💎 But that only lasted a few months ‘cause I dropped that ipod and had to get a new one, that I didn’t let the kids use lol. Aaahh, memories. 😌

Yes, you can clone a dragon at the Epic, Enchanted, and Rift breeding locations if it’s no longer available, as long as you own the dragon to be cloned.
There are some exception though. Gemstone/Crystalline dragons cannot be cloned. Galaxy dragons can only be cloned at the co-op. Rift exclusives, only in the Rift. Evolve dragons cannot be single-parent cloned (both parents need to be the target dragon), and Lunis and Solis cannot be cloned outside of the co-op. However, it appears they can be cloned because Lunis + Moon can result in Lunis, since Lunis fulfils the Galaxy element of its own breeding requirement. But you’re not receiving the cloning breeding percentage, so technically they cannot be cloned.

Hi all knowledgeable Valers! I have a wish to use, should I get the expanded lost island, the expanded Olympus island or the overgrown island? I had enough cash to buy 3 more islands in the half price deal. Thanks 😃

I looked at my history via the App Store. Lo and behold - I initially downloaded DragonVale on 26 September 2011! It was quite a shock to see that date!!! Not sure I ever even played the game until the beginning-ish of COVID lockdown when I purchased the Beginner Bundle 4 on 11 April 2020. It has been daily since then.

If you're going for space then definitely the Overgrown Island; it's the size of the Gargantuan. As for the two expanded islands, I have to say that I prefer the Olympus one over the Lost one... but that's just me. The only true difference besides aesthetics is size.

I agree with OboeKade, the Overgrown Island is the one to get first! The expanded islands are just that, expansions of the islands you already own, not much new space. If you don’t own the smaller versions, the expanded size is that of a normal island. 😊
