And ElectronX still doesn't show up in DV while perfectly showing up in GC.

I had made the first change a few months ago. With the new update, I was back to having major issues running DV on my iPad 1. I did the last 3 yesterday and I am back to being able to run again.

Can someone help me out with this issue: I have added some of you as friends in Gamecenter on my iPad, but after a couple of days I cannot find you to send gifts and visit your parks. This is really odd and I don't know how to get you back on my list. Any thoughts? My ID is rdavis5996.

Have you updated to the latest version?

The friends list seem to get screwed up when iOS users are running different version of the game.

Sorry I can't be more help, but I'm the resident Android guy. Most of our freind list issues have been solvable by either force stopping the app or just logging in and out of Facebook...

First possibility : you or your friends didn't get the last update of DV. Sometimes you have to start the App Store manually to make it show a waiting update.
Second possibility : there seems to be a glitch since DV 2.0, concerning only some people. This glitch prevents these friends from showing up in the friends list. They do show up in the game center and occasionally you can see them in DV but that's really rare. Two of my friends ( Saagaadaa and ElectronX) are affected by this glitch while all other friends are working fine. Don't know which people are concerned, maybe they didn't get the latest ios update ?
If you want to exchange gems with those friends there's a trick I worked out : one of those friends has to send a gem to you. He'll show up in the gifting list (not in the friends list). You have to gift back before you collect the gem, otherwise the friend will be greyed out and you couldn't send him the gem.
Hope this works for you too and that the glitch will be sorted out soon.

I tried this. It seems to only work for one friend at a time. You need to drop out of the social menu and reenter to do a second friend. I also seemed to be able to gift the same friend multiple times in a day doing this, but other friends missed out as my counter went down. Basically, the first time I tried it, I thought it hadn't worked at all so gifted that friend again. Then the friend (also RL) reported getting two gems from me that day. Then I noticed I was down a gifting gem.

Some thoughts.
Do the friends show up in Game Centre?
Establishing friends is a two step process. You send out an invitation. The other party has to accept it before they are classified as a "friend"
So if they don't show up as friends in GC then they probably haven't accepted yet.

If they do show up in GC, but not in DV, they may be affected by a bug that appeared around the time of DV 2.0 I think it may actually have been earlier as I recall hoping that the new update would fix this issue.

Anyway, if they are in GC, but not DV, try some or all of the following:
Force close DV and restart.
Power cycle your iDevice
Unfriend and refriend in GC
Check you have the latest version of DV on your iDevice ( go to the app store to check). It is a well known issue that friends disappear if they have updated DV and you haven't. Or is it the other way round?

Oh THANK you for saying that you have people who pop in & out of your friend list, instead of some who just never appear! Both of my daughters play, and their names are rarely in my friend list… but sometimes one or both of them appear. I recently sent a GC request to ElectronX so my girls could see the gorgeous park she built. I could swear I saw her name for a moment in my DV friend list but then my game crashed… when I reloaded, it was gone, and she hasn't showed back up. Wah!

I'm on the latest OS & DV update, I've done all the dances: on & off, de-friended a daughter & re-friended her, uninstalled & reinstalled… nothing works.

I use the same "you gift me first, so I can gift you" routine that you describe. It usually works, but is frustrating.

I've got a question concerning the login/logout of the game center.
Since ios 7.0 I have to go in the settings menue to change between different game center accounts. That worked.
Last week I had difficulties to change between my DV accounts. Every time I tried to log in my secondary account I got an error message that the server would not be available.
I solved this after a day with a complete shut down of the ipad. ( maybe it was just coincidence that the problem vanished at that moment)
Now I have another problem :
I can change between my different accounts but I can't logout completely. This would be important to my daughter who wants to play another game without being logged into a GC account. The game center tab in the settings behaves like if I was logged out. But when I switch to another tab and then back to the GC tab it shows one of my gc accounts as if I never logged out.
Even a shut down of the ipad didn't work.
Am I missing something ?
Or is it not possible anymore to log out completely out of GC ?

Eeek! Just lost my $1.99 for 95 gems discount! The one hour countdown expired during my frenzy to try to figure out why I kept receiving the same error message each time I touched the only discount box in the Marketplace: <paraphrasing here> "This is not a test account! Please create a test account in the Sandbox."

Has anyone else experienced this error?

I'm on an Apple iPad and was able to purchase such a discount successfully on Thanksgiving Day (it was my only other real money purchase to date!). I'll email BFE, but it will help to know if others have had the same thing happen to them.

On a side note, I didn't even get a discount option when DV loaded on my other iPad using Stella~1.

Sorry, this question is off topic, but it doesn't fit in chatting with friends either...

Since the update to iOS 7 I have problems with the air print.
Some months ago we bought a new printer and did take care of the air printing function because it's a nice to have when you can print directly from the iPad.
Since the update to IOS 7 this is not working anymore. The whole internet is full of complaints of people having a similar problem. Some of them could fix their problem by taking router and printer off and switch it on again. That is not working for me.
Did anyone of you techies get the same problem, and do you have a tip how to solve it ?

Well. I don't have that problem as I don't have an airprint printer. However epson do have an app that allows you to print from iOS to at least some of their pre-AirPrint models. It is a bit clunky. But it does work. Perhaps your printer manufacturer has something similar that will tide you over.

Our printer is new (5 months or so), it has the air print function, and it worked very smooth under IOS 6.
only since the update to IOS 7 it is not working anymore.

Crumble, i have installed an airprint HP printer about 3 weeks ago and have had no prob at all. Just noted that when you want to print you have to select the printer each time, even if you only have one.

Apple came out with a new iOS yesterday (7.1, I think). Contrary to my usual slowness about updating my OS, I installed it. And since, DV won't load. I get to the loading screen, but DV doesn't connect to GC and no loading bar appears. It just kinda hangs there.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Anyone have a solution?
