Apple came out with a new iOS yesterday (7.1, I think). Contrary to my usual slowness about updating my OS, I installed it. And since, DV won't load. I get to the loading screen, but DV doesn't connect to GC and no loading bar appears. It just kinda hangs there.
Anyone else experiencing the same? Anyone have a solution?
Thanks a ton. myke
Ugh - I shoulda done due diligence first. Powered down my iPad and all is well in DV land. Sorry for the trouble.
Grammar or spelling - that is the question (shoulda?)

Hello I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I am wondering if any problems with the march update ? I am still babysitting multiple DVs for my grandchildren and my own. I don't want to update if bugs still crawling. Also am I correct in believing I will loose all friends who have not updated?
Regarding survey I just hope they stop DV1 in a bring em back model. Instead of the way they just abandoned Gizmonauts.
Again thanks for all the great advice, I read forum regularly, and answers to my questions. Still the best site with the best community.
The latest update has been quite stable on both my ipad 3 and iPhone 4. But yes you will lose friends if they do not update. Or cannot. The one before that was quite iffy on the phone but mostly stable on the tablet.

DragonVale 2.2.3 - iOS 7 and Android Issues Backflip Support Mar 26 UPDATE: March 26th, 2014 ~ 4:15 PM MST
Our engineers have deployed a server side fix for this issue - you will need to simply reload your DragonVale park and you should be able to access your park. THANK YOU for your patience while we fixed this issue!!! ------------------------------------------------------------- We're aware that there are many players who haven't been able to access their DragonVale parks on both Android and iOS after the 2.2.3 update. Some of these issues seem to be stemming from the iOS 7.1 update which downloaded an older version of DragonVale (one stored on your cloud). Other users are reporting issues that they can't get past the loading screen.
On behalf of the whole CS Team, we're very sorry you haven't been able to access your game! We are working with engineering and QA to find a solution to the problem. We realize this is a huge inconvenience and that you miss your dragons!
As soon as we know more about the issue or have a fix for your games, we will alert you via email if you've emailed us or HERE on the Support Portal.
THANK YOU for your patience and understanding.
Rachael, Kyle, Craig and Dan.

DragonVale Dragon Market Countdown Clock! Backflip Support Mar 27 Hello hello!
Today we've added some cool tech into DragonVale. When a limited Dragon is about to expire, if you go to the Market, tap Dragons - you'll see it listed there with a countdown timer above its card. This will tell you exactly how much time you have left to breed or buy that dragon!
Message from BFS pertaining to the new countdown implemented for limited dragon.
In addition, thy have also added a sortable filter for decoration according to elements.

Thank you and it also shows the timer in "News" on the Android platform
And on the iOS. Though it was glitchy on iPhone4 (Counted a couple of seconds then froze)

HELP! today seems to be my day for problems... When I logon to this site, it says I have a private message but lack the tool to read it. I have one message, that is old and I have read. It wants me to download and install Inbox Viewer. Why would I need this to view messages? Especially since I have already read one message on this site. Do I really need Inbox viewer to read private messages? Thank you, Debo

You shouldn't need any kind of app or whatever to read messages on the forum. But to help us help you better, can you give us some context? Are you at a computer? If so, what browser? Are you on a mobile device? If so, which one, and how are you viewing the forum?
Whether on my iPad or at a computer, I've never had an issue receiving and reading private messages.
I'm on iPad. Ever since last night, none of my games can establish a connection to GameCentre. For many games, that isn't a big issue. But DV needs a GC connection. So on I DV for me
Has anyone had this happen before?
I can open GC. I can log out and back into GC. But all my games see me as "guest" or otherwise divorced from GC.
I haven't had many problems pertaining to Gamecenter myself, but here are a couple troubleshooting links that you may want to check out if Gamecenter is having trouble connecting to your games:
I have seen this in GN. Not DV. I resolved by force closing both GC and app. Then shut down iDevice. And restart. And make sure you are on a reliable internet connection. I have seen funny things like this when my wifi connection was dodgy. Switching to 3G resolved it.

I did the powercycle several times, to no avail. Finally, I logged OUT of GC, and it started working. When I was logged in, my iPad was all confused... I dunno. Then I powercycled, and my iPad detected me as properly logged in.

I have had this problem on occasion. In each case, I have wiped my iphone and reloaded and that is what it took. It takes FOREVER

I knew I could reset my device to factory settings, but didn't want to , knowing it would take forever to get it back to they way I like it. I'm glad the problem solved itself before I had to do wipe it.
I just found this thread and it would be appropriate to introduce myself. I am a retired engineer living in Orlando, Florida. I started playing DV on my iPad in June 2012 after my granddaughter quit playing at Level 14. Since then, I have been playing DV nonstop.
When I got an Android phone as a Christmas gift that year, I told to myself that I should not start another DV park. My resolution lasted for two months. I started my second park in February 2013 and the third park in December. You can play two parks (Local and Facebook) on an Android phone. I am really enjoying this game.
Awesome
Just a word of caution though...
The Gamecenter and Facebook parks are stored in the cloud, so they are very secure and easy to recover in case of an upgrade or emergency.
The local park is stored entirely on your device memory, so if you erase, lose, break or upgrade your device you could loose everything in that park.
You should be able to use a phone backup app of one kind or another to create a backup of the game data though (never needed to do this as my park is in the cloud).
When I set up DV for my aunt, I did it locally...her contract w/ VZW is up, and I plan to upgrade her phone.
BS - from what you said
- I wont be able to move her existing local park from one phone to the next?
Well, with a backup app you should be able to move the local data to a new android device. I've never actually done this with DV before, but I've moved other games this way when I upgraded my tablet.
- Where do they store the info on her phone? SD card, or SIM card?
Not the SIM.
DV installs everything to internal storage by default. In fact, even if you move the app to SD card it still retains the majority of the park data on internal memory. Backup software should be able to move all relevant files to the SD card though.
- Is there anyway for me to transfer her local park to Facebook park?
Yes, you should be able to associate an existing local park with a FB account. If I recall, it will ask you when you login via FB in the DV for the first time. This is probably the simplest/best option. You don't even need the phone to have an active data plan if you do it over wifi.
I can no longer use Dragonvale on my iPad mini due to constant crashes. It works fine on my iPhone, but is not nearly as pleasant to use. This has me considering hiving up the game. :[
I'm maxed out on gem trades, but always happy to connect for park appreciation purposes.

The game is quite resource intensive these days. And Apple don't make it easy to shut down apps completely. You might like to force close all your Apps. Press and hold the home button, then sweep each app up off the screen.
Then power cycle the ipad. Press and hold the sleep button, then swipe the are you sure?
It is also a good idea to go into the settings and shut down all the notifications. Usually it is my iPhone that causes the problems, though I do all the above on both when the phone starts complaining.

I can't login to facebook from DV on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. When I open the options menu, there is no login to facebook button. I am also using DV on an android phone and the log in to facebook button is available on this device. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks
