That's awesome. I slowly worked on the Gold shrines over the first year I was playing to give my game direction, but since then I've kept my dragons to Level 10 as I hate the orbs above them. I have toyed with the idea of selling off those above Level 10, but then BFS announced the better breeding results with higher level dragons. Pixie has done an awful lot of testing and is on the cusp of providing evidence that limited dragons with regular elements (like Bearded and Butterfly) might get the advantage of being bred with Level 20 dragons. Stay tuned.

I found with level 10s my results in the coliseum were dismal. With level 20s, I have always resulted in golds. The extra gems is the reason for crowns.

Your remark not to crown seems to be based on not checking DV 10 times a day...I doubt anyone does that.,.i personally check once a day...sometimes twice. This does not stop me from crowning my dragons if I choose to.. Your remark is confusing me.

It's based on how fast habitats fill up with the higher level dragons. If habs cap out between checks with level 10 dragons, what's the point in making them earn faster?

I probably check 5-7 times a day on average, though I suppose that changes when I'm breeding for a new dragon with short fail times

Crowning dragons is expensive and time consuming. There are only a few mechanical beenfits to doing so:
- more DC/min. Depending on check frequency and habitat type, this benefit is often wasted.
- Colosseum results. But if you have the right dragons, you can get by with only crowning 3 dragons ever and always get gold.
- improved chances of breeding "rare dragons". Of course, not every dragon is equally valuable in this regard, since many of our dragons are not required for any existing combos. Presumably this list will expand over time though.
I have a (long term) goal of crowning each of my display dragons. I prioritize them based on the mechanics above. But I don't have a really compelling "need" to do so.
I just don't see any benefit to hoarding DC... and there's really nothing else to spend it on at the moment...

Exactly! Me too, hit the Billion mark and want to spend it soooo bad.
Well, I'm back in the 100,000,000s again after feed another guy for a crown. Just got a summer, so now I will have everything except the DR. Up to 170 tries on it. Cute as the dragons are and as obsessive as I am, i am still getting bored. I feel like the old ladies I saw in Reno sitting at the slots pulling the lever. Draw and Angry Birds are a bit more challenging. And quit throwing dragon poo at me!
I have joined the billionaires club with my little park. I am at L33, with around 5M food and as mentioned just over 1B coin. All my shrines are still bronze. Most have more than 10 dragons to go to turn them silver.
OTOH my big park is at L45, never has more than 100M cash or 2M food. All shrines are gold, with three crowned dragons and several at L19. Sadly, the three crowns are not the "right" ones for the collesseum.

I have just made it to 1b dc, would have made it sooner if I wasn't leveling up and crowning various dragons. I have not been able to see any real advantage to using dragons over level 15 except in the collessium and most of the time level 15 seems to be enough. Thus I started hoarding cash. I am patiently waiting to see if those with more experience than me determine If there really is a breeding advantage to higher level dragons. Of course the 8th island and its 500m cost will set me back when I need the space. Right now I think I have one of each dragon and one egg of each (with the exception if the double rainbow egg and of course the summer dragon) all within seven islands.

No, that's correct. Doctor with any other Rainbow element dragon gives ~ 1:2 ratio between Doctor and Rainbow.

No, that's correct. Doctor with any other Rainbow element dragon gives ~ 1:2 ratio between Doctor and Rainbow.
I tried Rainbow + DR 12 times and got - 12 Rainbows. That took time.

I'm currently keeping DC at about the 200M level. Why, I don't know! Just seems like a good number. I was up close to 1B but doesn't seem to be any point to accumulating a bunch of cash.
My goal is 2 of every dragon plus an egg and to crown at least one of every dragon. I have 2 crowned at the moment, a Paper and a Panlong. Also to get all shrines to gold and, when they do it (which they SURELY will) get my shrines to platinum.
I'm currently earning at the rate of about 50M DC every day. I have 65 Solstice/Blue Moon dragons in 20 Sun and 5 Moon habitats. This is to maximize my cash/day. I have only 9 hybrid dragon habitats, all upgraded. One each of the 8 types plus an extra Earth habitat. Why the extra Earth? I don't know. Can't bear to hibernate so many Earth's.
One other thing I've done is to use Excel to help me lay out the most efficient way to get the shrines to gold using the least number of total dragons. This is assuming 2 of every dragon and taking into account the extra dragons I've already raised to level 15. I sold all my excess dragons which weren't needed.
I use detailed Excel spreadsheets (which evolved over several months) to estimate my daily earning rates and to keep track of what I have and what I need next.
So that's my park!
